Anthony and
Stachys continue to push their way toward the portal. By sliding along the walls, they are able to make forward progress.
Cole gets far enough down the corridor to see that
Dreya is not waiting at the end. The water is waist deep at the west end of the corridor as the flow from the east has nowhere to go but up and back.
Cole turns around and wades through the current to get back to the party.
Seline continues to threaten the portal worker.
Dreya materializes next to the secret door. Looking north, she can see
Elwood talking to
Gloop Loop. To the east, she can see the wizard and monk fighting against the water spray in order to reach the portal room.
Elwood persuades
Gloop Loop that
Tetra Min is done and can threaten him no more. The fishman and cleric enter the corridor next to
Dreya and begin to work their way east.
Back in the portal room, the much-threatened
portal worker shrugs his shoulders at
Seline and picks up the body of one of the dead portal workers. He drags it behind the portal, then abruptly heaves the corpse through the back of the portal. The body disappears with a bright flash. The
fishman says,
"Huh."
Meanwhile, at the west end of the corridor, far, far away from the rest of the party,
Cole fails to notice the bloody and battered
Tetra Min rise from the water behind him. The top of his bowl helmet is open and salt water sloshes out. With a vicious sneer,
Tetra Min shreds
Cole's unsuspecting back with his flail for
7 points of damage. If only the roaring water coming from the portal didn't drown out the sound of
Cole's cry of pain...
