Re: OOC Discussion

Yes, sorry to hear about such a tragic loss!  Please, take as long as you need.  This game will keep, and we are all not going anywhere.  Take your time, and return when you are ready.

Hugs.

Re: OOC Discussion

I will be hardcore offline Friday-Saturday. I may--may--have time to pop on once or twice, but otherwise I'll be waking up, eating, showering, heading to the gaming convention from 8am-11:30pm, going home, sleeping, waking-eating-showering, heading back to the gaming convention from 8am-midnight then going home and crashing.

Re: OOC Discussion

Tuesday I have eye surgery and have no idea what appetite I'll have for gaming then; so the most likely next update from me will be Wednesday, if surgery goes as advertised. I'll update before then if I get lucky, but I do not anticipate such luck, sadly.

Re: OOC Discussion

Hey, everyone.  Long time, no post.  Although I thought I would be bouncing right back to the game after my father passed away, I've lost all motivation for gaming over the last 4-5 weeks.  I've felt like I've been walking around in a fog.  Outside of work, about all I've managed to do is watch TV, read, and post pictures of my cat on Facebook.  I'm gradually starting to snap out of it, but I'm not all the way back.

I'm not ready to resume the game yet.  My plan is to take the rest of December off and then regroup in January.  I hope you will all stick with the game despite the lengthy downtime, but I understand if the loss of momentum has killed your interest.

I will still be here!  Take all the time you need.  Virtual hugs, and personal hugs when I see yoy next.  I will start looking at the game again come January.

Lots of love and anything else you need,

Me.

December is really hectic for me anyway, so more than happy to pick this campaign up when you are able to resume. Take whatever time you need. I feel no need to rush anything.

Re: OOC Discussion

I was wondering if there are still plans to keep this game going and if we have an estimated date to start again.

Thanks,

Re: OOC Discussion

Hey, everyone.  Once again I must apologize for the longer-than-promised delays on my end.  I had intended to start things back up in January, but just couldn't mentally invest in the game.  I was extremely busy at work in January and early February and hoped I'd be ready to jump back in once my schedule cleared and I had more free time for gaming.  Unfortunately, despite having more free time, I find myself dreading getting back to the game.  I have delayed doing anything with the game in the hope I would reengage.  I think enough time has passed that I need to be honest with myself and all of you.  I could wait longer, but I don't think more time will change the way I am feeling.  I am not going to be able to continue running the game.

Rather than just abandoning the game as-is, I suggest we do an epilogue.  I think it's reasonable to assume the party will defeat the priests of the Temple of Pain.  I'm curious how you think your PCs will continue to grow in the aftermath.  I will create an Epilogue thread for people to contribute what happens to their PCs in the future if they wish to do so.

I very much enjoyed running this game and would like to thank all of you for your contributions and patience.

Re: OOC Discussion

It was a honor and a privilege, and I really enjoyed the game.  No need to apologize, these past few months have been a little down for me too, and I'm not even putting 1/10th of the work you've been putting into this game.

I think play by post games are a little difficult.  In a face-to-face game, you can meet once a week or every other week, so both the GM & players have some down time.  With this format, you really need to be "on", posting and rolling every few days (otherwise it's just toooooo slow), and this can be tiring after a while.  On the good side, we were at this for what, 2 years?  Two years of some great times.

If I ever get to Gary Con I'll try to look you up, plus I still enjoy your posts on the TLG forums.

I'll compose something of Elwood's adventuring career over the weekend - want to have a great send off!

Re: OOC Discussion

Yes, it was indeed a good run!  This was my first play by post game, and it was truly such an addicting experience.  I understand as a writer feeling that writers block hit at times, and a game of this platform truly does demand that level of creativity regularly, especially from anyone running this type of game.  As Elwood said, two years is a damn good run!

I too shall post something soon, and hope to meet up with you all sometime.
