The Basics
Please try and abide by the following rules and guidelines:

1. Be civil with each other. We're here to have a good time and tell a story. Along these lines please refrain from political, religious, racial or any other conversation that could be extremely polarizing (this isn't your Facebook feed).

2. Please make an effort to post regularly. If you are going to be gone for an extended period simply say something in OOC. If your character doesn't have anything to add but you are ready to move along simply post a "-->" (that helps me know you're engaged and I can advance the story)

3. Work as a team. I find D&D works best as a team sport, so work together. I realize characters will have different personalities and motivations but ultimately you should all be headed in roughly the same direction.

4. No PVP. I do allow use of social skills (intimidation, deception etc) on other PC's but it should be exceedingly rare.

5. All dice rolls must happen in this games dice roller. No rolling your home dice and posting the 'results'. There is also no 'warming up the dice roller' your first roll will be counted.

6. We are playing with 5th edition D&D rules. However as DM I reserve the right to change things if needed. I am the final say on rules questions/decisions.

7. Finally, HAVE FUN! If you're not having fun tell me and offer a way I could improve/change via PM. I want us to tell a great story together so give me feedback. I won't be upset or offended, I promise.

House Rules

This is where significant variation from the 5e rules will be posted.

1. If you are proficient in a skill the minimum result you can get on a check is 10 (This is total result, not die roll). The exception to this rule is a critical failure (roll of 1).

2. Some skill checks may only be accessible to those with proficiency. For instance, the backwater folk hero is not going to know some rare arcane knowledge (even if he rolls a 20 on his skill check).

3. The Ranger class in the PHB will be replaced with the Ranger class presented in Unearthed Arcana on 9/12/16. http://media.wizards.com/2016/...UA_RevisedRanger.pdf

The Basics
RTJ

**Please submit the following information**

1. Character name

2. Race/Class/Background (PHB, Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide and Elemental Evil Companion. No Aarakocra)

3. "Concept": this is your one or two sentence description of the character
Example: A towering goliath from the mountains, he seeks to challenge ever more dangerous monsters to find a worthy death.

4. Briefly what is your experience with 5e D&D

5. How often can you realistically post

6. Rank the following aspects of an RPOL D&D game in order of your interest (1 being most interested and 4 being least). Exploration, Combat, Social interaction and Optimizing. There is no right answer here but it's important to try and match similar play styles to some degree. This also helps me customize the adventure to what the players like.

**Note: I intentionally only want bare bones character concepts. If chosen we will all work together in "session zero" to develop and bond the characters**
