UNLIMITED SETTINGS!

In our game world, super-powered individuals have appeared fairly recently (in the last decade or so). People are more-or-less used to them, but not entirely comfortable with them. Since their emergence, there has been a consistent and powerful push to contain them politically and legally. There are well-funded, wide-spread organizations that employ supers as agents, both to combat super-powered threats and to counter more mundane problems.

Active superheroes who are not state-sanctioned are the objects of highly polarized opinions. Vigilantism is as illegal for them as it is for anyone else, but enough people think that it's necessary for it to be a messy and volatile topic.

There will only be magic in this world if one or more PC's have a magical background. There will only be aliens in this world if one or more PC's has an alien background.

The emergence of supers happened after "The Event." If any PC has a magical or alien background, then The Event was the appearance of magic and/or the arrival of aliens. If not, then The Event was more mundane in nature.

The primary stage will be a slightly-futuristic urban centre called Bay City (City on the Bay!). The city will start off pretty generic and we'll fill it in as we go. Once we get started, I'll replace this thread with one detailing and tracking prominent features and NPC's of Bay City.
