"I'm gonna have a look around for any weaponry. Keep yer eyes an' ears open. That critter ain't forgot us". Django begins to comb the area looking for anything that's a weapon.

The Basement

Unfortunately, most of the things that look remotely like weapons look like they have parts that have deteriorated over time to the point of uselessness.  Some might be salvageable in terms of machining the right parts or possibly finding modern analogs to replace what's missing.

However, Django does find one display that looks like it might have been more of a showcase to look at than something for sale.  The display has a fairly complex looking device, nearly as long as Django is tall.  There are eight rounded rectangular objects next to it that look like they fit into a slot on the bottom.  There is no trigger, so it may or may not be a rifle of some sort, but there is a rotating dial and three buttons with various bumps on them.  Next to the rectangular objects are three cylinders that might also fit the object somehow, but it's difficult to see how at the moment.

Next to the long object is definitely a rifle.  It has a touch activated screen that fires right up when touched.  The standby mode on this thing is unbelievable with no loss of energy over 1000 years of time.  It registers full power and judging by the power reading, you better be willing to disintegrate whatever you're pointing at.  It is something on the order of 40 Gigajoules.

Lying next to that is a sword with a slot for a power source and next to it, three objects that look like they fit in the slot.

Lastly, there is a sack of metallic spheres with a sliding switch, a button on top of that, and several indicator lights.  Experience tells Django these are likely some kind of explosives.  There are 12 of them.

While Django scores with the weaponry, Tump finds the computer section jackpot.  There are more than enough computer systems that would fit the needs of the Falcon.  Several of them seem to be advanced prototypes for the era.  This will easily fill the bill for missing computer parts.

There is one more section, a partly closed off area in the far back corner of the room.

He starts moving various components to a central spot in the room. "Let's get everything all together, so it'll be easier to manage getting outta here."

He glances over to the last room. "While we're here, we ought to check out those ship systems too. Might be something we can strap onto the Falcon as well."

This area seems to have been an expo on small ship weaponry.  There are prototypes of nearly a hundred kinds of guns, cannons, and shield components.  It is a toss up as to which work and what they actually do, especially since there is no power in the building, nor would they likely have been something they could actually demonstrate in the expo.  Perhaps there was holovids to watch at one time, but there is nothing around like that now.  Also, it appears that any data explaining the technical aspects of the weapons might have been holographic or at least digital and there are no computer terminals around to check.  Furthermore, the personal data pads held in the hands of the skeletons in the room were far less durable than the weapons systems.  A single touch of one of them caused it, and the skeleton that held it, to crumble to dust before the eyes.

There is one small section toward the back, almost as if they were afraid to have it near the rest of the expo, that contains missile prototypes.  There are fifteen missiles of various types, each individual in its design and probably function.  They are too big to carry by even two men.  If everything functions, if even a quarter of it functions, this expo was the jackpot.  It will provide all the remaining parts the Falcon needs to get into space and leave the Corellian system.

List of Potentially Operable Systems Found:

  • 15 missile/torpedo of various shape, size, and (unknown) function.
  • 12 unique smaller anti-personnel weapon systems for small to medium craft.
  • 8 unique small ship to ship weapon systems of varying design and purpose.
  • 4 unique mid-size ship to ship weapon systems of varying design and purpose.  Too big for one and two man sized craft.
  • 1 large six-barrel cannon array.  Looks mean.  Light freighter sized ships and up only.
  • 7 unique shield generator systems, 1 is rather large.

All systems include all necessary wires, cables, and hookups required to function.  Compatibility is not guaranteed, but likely given that they come from the same era as the Falcon (and the A-wing).

Tumps jaw drops. "Wow", is all he is able to mutter.

He peruses the equipment but ultimately comes to the conclusion that all of it needs to be evaluated by someone else. "We need to get Ronan and Aice down here to check this out and see what's viable. I'll call it in." He pulls out his communicator and gives the away team to low down.

The Basement

Ronan and Inarra arrive with the hauler and park outside the seam where the building has collapsed.  Ronan snares the giant relighast in a fancy electroshock web, the same that Vyctor used to capture his own relighast before training it.

Ronan rigs up an electromagnetic conveyor system from the upper floor where the expo was down to the hauler.  The weapons and warheads are gently floated down and loaded.  Ronan is boisterous and downright crazy with his tales of the intercontinental wrestling league, but he isn't even close to stupid despite the surface impression.  He's also a physically imposing beast.

Once loaded, the ride back to the Falcon is easygoing, but in a way, exhilarating.  There is naught left to do but complete the Falcon's repair and upgrade.

Then space.

Inarra gets right to work installing the computer systems.  She is quite the whiz when it comes to software and getting the tech to talk to each other.  After several hours of non-stop work, eating wherever she happens to be working when the food is brought, she lets the software do it's thing and pushes away from the console.  "I need sleep.  Estimated time for launch is as early as tomorrow evening.  Each of you should also sleep in case Vexember changes his mind."

True to her word, she finds her bunk and is sound asleep in minutes.

Irin has been assisting Inarra with the computer work, monitoring the Falcon when Inarra split her time with the A-wing.  She seems reluctant to stop, bouncing around and full of energy at the prospect tomorrow offers.  However, she grabs a quick cup of hot tea laced with a local nightshade variety, and also beds down for the night.  She and Inarra share a room and with both inside, the door slides closed.

Their room has a third, empty bunk and it is close to the cockpit area, which now has a new doorway into the cockpit area that it did not have before.  It has been determined that Irin will be the navigator while Inarra will handle communications.

Ronan, when he sleeps on a bunk, will take the lowest of the triple bunk on the other side of the head near the galley.  Tump and Django are left the upper two bunks.  Vyctor will sleep in the bunk off the lounge area for now, though he does not tend to sleep much that anyone sees.

Django steps outside for a smoke before bed. He spends a good amount of time pondering over his current situation, and makes it a double. After around 30 minutes, he heads inside, careful to be quiet when crawling in to his bunk. It feels good to kick his boots off, and remove harnesses and holsters from his person. The bunks have a nifty system that lifts the mattress up for storage space underneath, and he careful and silently stows his gear there. Once in his rack, be pulls the scraps of cloth used as curtains shut, and drifts off in to an uneasy sleep.

The Basement

Morning comes with the smell of bacon.  If Vyctor did nothing else, he would be welcomed as the ship's cook.  Everyone is well fed and a grueling day of leveraging machine parts into the Falcon's body, welding, routing thick wires, and other such chores bring everyone to a need for a hearty and early lunch, too.  Several major parts also have to be installed on the A-wing as well, but two hours after lunch, the heavy lifting part is done.  Even GDI-7X is installed on the underbelly of the Falcon in place of cannons.  He complains...often, that he will be a target, but his armor and upgraded guns, renewed ammo and batteries, and his surprisingly advanced targeting systems will make him formidable ship to ship.  The topside has the six barrel behemoth found earlier, something Vyctor calls a "turbo-laser battery".

For the next four hours Vyctor and the women bring all the systems online and begin final checks.  During this time, Ronan, Django, and Tump push closed the bay 'window' and slide home the ship's sublight drive system.  On the outside, she looks a lot more like a ship now.

Still a piece of junk, though.

Vyctor claims that's actually on purpose, though.  Something about the millennium hull was set as a deterrent to thieves or something.  Most people will likely ignore the ship in favor of other, shinier ships.  It has a history of being underestimated before becoming famous.

A late supper is some kind of savory brisket, buttery green veggies, and a tart blue fruit that is pretty amazing, but makes everyone's mouth glow blue for a few hours.  At the dinner, Vyctor declares the ships ready for take off.  "When shall we depart?  Immediately after dinner or shall we wait until the morning and get a fresh start?"

Inarra and Irin both speak at the same time.  "Now."

Ronan nods with a mouth full of brisket and points his meat-laden fork at the women.  His unintelligible assent given, he goes back to his third helping.

"Django?  Tump?"

There are no objections from anyone else.  Ayce trundles up to the cockpit behind the two pilots.  "I'll help you with preflight checks and systems until you figure things out for yourself."  Again his voice is that of the confident, snarky Captain Solo.  Once the two are strapped in properly, Ayce begins his instructions.  Though the voice is lightly sarcastic at times, the droid turns out to be an exceptional and supremely patient teacher.

Irin takes up her spot at communication with Vyctor across from her at the navigator's station.  Ayce also sends communications to Inarra in her A-wing at the same time he speaks to the two new pilots.  "It is too bad we do not have time in a simulator, but a few bumps and scrapes will only add some realism to the millennial hull.

Though the process is currently slow, it is easy to see how it could be done in just a few minutes time with practice.  A low hum builds up in the ship and then there is the sensation of floating as the repulsors began working against the gravity of the planet.  A metallic rending sound comes from outside as the Falcon pulls away from the mountain of junk it had been partly buried in.

Outside, the interior lights of the A-wing cockpit are also lit and the repulsors lift the smaller craft as well.  Inarra overcompensates and bonks the relighast on the head.  It roars in complaint, then wanders off away from the offending ship and sound.  Vyctor expresses hope that the thing will be fine in the ruins on its own now that it is free, though it has failed to leave the area until now.  He flips a switch to turn off the devices controlling the monster, shorting them out at the same time so that no one else can use the monster for more nefarious things.
