As you will be approaching literally head to head, you all begin in CASE 2.

To make this mechanically viable I am going to add a SPD rating to your ships.  That is how many KM your ship moves in combat per second and is something like Movement on the ground.  The A-wing will have the highest top combat SPD, then the X-wing, Falcon, and B-wing.  Once a ship is beyond 11km, it is out of even extreme blaster range and cannot be hit.  Greater speed reduces maneuverability so in relation to CASE structure, it will not effect how the piloting rolls work.  In other words, it will all wash out to the same.

This would work better on a hex board, but we don't have so we'll make do.

Starting with your guns' base range, every 1000m (1 km) is a -1 until you reach -10.  Then blaster fire dissipates and does nothing.

Roll any shots your ship can make starting at the 20 km range for each phase until you decide to break off and enter CASE 2.  I will post Inarra's Phase 1 as an example.

At current vectors, all ships are within Maximum firing range.  For example, the B-wing has a range of 1000m.  So at 11,000m (11 km) he gets a -10 for 11,000 - 1000 = 10,000m (10km).  Remember, your increments change the minuses at range so someone with a max range of 2000 would only be at -5 for 10,000/2000 = 5x range.

Inarra lets loose with a couple of bolts from her blasters, aiming at the Falcon.  Both go way wide.

18:40, Today: Inarra rolled -3 using 1d20-5.  Targeting (Attack) vs Falcon (GDI-7X).
18:39, Today: Inarra rolled 8 using 1d20-5.  Targeting (Attack) vs Falcon (GDI-7X).

{Here is how the targeting added up.

+6 == Inarra did not use the computer attack (+6) and instead targeted manually (+3 base for DEX/INT average +3 BAB).

-9 == She was at 9000m for the Falcon (9000m) since the two groups are flying in formation and do not have significant distance between them for the hypotenuse to matter in calculations yet.

-2 == She was targeting a specific system.  The shots were too wide to determine which.

Total modifier for shots was +6 -9 -2 = -5.

For use of manual targeting in a meaningful context, Inarra added the skill line:

+6  =  3    0   +3  +0   |  Targeting: Starfighter     (D/I)       Yes       (0/6)

Continued use will add SXP.

This skill does not stack with targeting computer bonuses for weapons on the ships.  It is used instead of.  While these bonuses are low now, continued use will mean that manual targeting will eventually outstrip equipment.

Also, there will be other things that modify this down the road.

Django veers wide to his right, breaking away from the head on course with the X-Wing to move 3 Km. He severely miscalculate how well the Falcon will turn though, and is very sloppy.

RX-79 fires off the hex gun at Tump again, all six barrels at once.  Again, the shot goes way wide, even as close range as the two ship are.

Ships A, B, and X-wings have all enemies in forward firing arc.  As the Millennium Falcon rolls and yaws away from Tump, it's top turret looses any firing arc on the enemy and only GDI-7X has enemies in his firing arc.

Add 1000m to distance calculations for B-wing for hypotenuse distance.

Inarra continues straight for 2000m, then right before coming even with the B-wing, she rolls right into a tight loop to come in behind Vyctor.  (12 > 7 piloting roll.  Inarra vs. Vyctor now in CASE 1)  She opens up her guns right behind him (2000m).  Her first shot nearly grazes his shields, but the second isn't close.

Similar to the A-Wing, Tump continues flying straight for another 2000m. With RX-79 now more exposed, Tump fires several shots aimed at the droid. Two stray left and right, but two manage direct hits [22 DMG, 27 DMG]. As soon as the shots are fired, he banks hard right toward the B-Wing in an attempt to come in behind as well.

Forgot the +4 for the weapon system

Vyctor attempts to shake the two pursuers, but his larger, slower ship and inexperience hinders his efforts somewhat.  He pulls away from Tump with a quick dive, but Inarra is able to keep on his back.
