Glantri vs the Dark Immortals

It takes the rest of the daylight to get the other three seals to Smith with the others help.

That evening Lita takes you to the library in San Miguel. There is an occasional candle hear and there  and you see someone that you assume is the Librarian.

"Greetings Lita. What brings you to the Library?"

Lita replies

"We are in need of your knowledge Lady Enza the seals on Jörmungandr have been broken and it is awakening. Smith is going to try to repair the Seals but we need to know the rituals to seal the Ancestor Piece again."

The Lady thinks for a while and processes the request.
"that will be difficult. But not impossible for us. Jörmungandr is waking up so we best strike it soon. The greatest warriors of the Sun Children, the Lunar Children and the Dark Immortals worked together in ancient times to subdue the Ancestor Piece. While Jörmungandr can't die, it is possible to knock it unconscious and seal it again. Once Smith repairs the seals we will need to take them back to the four nexuses around the city and then perform the sealing ritual while someone fights Jörmungandr. "

I bow to Lady Enza and respond, "It's good to know it can be knocked unconscious even. I plan to fight, I have sworn to protect this world, to such an extent as I can. Do you know how long it will be until the beast rises? I worry that without rest I won't have the where with all to put it down."

I nod, "Understood, I suppose an ancient enemy sealed behind mystic energy doesn't stir every day. My thoughts are that Selene, Leona, Ringo, and Lita can get the seals into position as Smith finishes them. I'll go and begin resting and preparing. If we know where he'll be rising, I'll prepare there, otherwise I'll prepare outside of town with the intention of luring Jormungandr to my prepared area after he arises."

---------------------------------

Before going to sleep, I'll take a moment to talk to Lita privately:
"Lita, I am going to do everything I can to keep this world safe tomorrow, and if possible keep myself alive. That being said, this is going to be incredibly dangerous, and I just wanted to thank you for everything..."

Pretty much trying to make sure to be open with Lita about her importance to me, as well as commit to doing everything I can.

---------------------------------

After sleeping for the night, I'm going to go to where I can prepare for fighting Jormungandr. I'm going to take each artifact weapon associated with one of my furies and set it on the ground in a circle around me. Each element's opposite is on opposite sides of the circle.

I'll then sit in the lotus position in the center of the circle and begin collecting motes (already at my maximum personal reservoir) and redirect any surplus motes to their respective elemental weapon. I'm mentally communing with my furies during this time, letting them know of the pending battle, and that I'm preparing the artifact weapons with a surplus of motes for them to use when the battle commences. As I work on this, I'm imagining that the ground is becoming suffused with essence and has a rippling effect of elements across it as the magic permeates the ground, acting as a reflection of my soulscape.

"Well, we do know were he is now. The Solar and Dark Tribes where not the only ones to help with the Spiral Tower. The Lunar Tribe helped as well. There is a path down to where Jörmungandr sleeps below the Tower. It would be best to strike it just as it wakes up, so that it is groggy and not expressing it's full power. There is also no point in striking it early. Because we also need to get the seals repaired and placed. But getting there too late would be catastrophic as it breaks free and rampages.

My suggestion is to rest for tonight and let me handle organizing and placing the Seals. And First thing in the morning get Selene to help you open the path down and go down with Leona.
You two are probably our best bet against Jörmungandr

-------------------

You are in bed with Lita and speak.
"I know Michal. Thanks for everything that you have done for us. Tomorrow, Everyone is going to help with the Seals. I know that it is going to be very dangerous. You are important to me. I don't know what I would do if I lost you... If That happens, I would like to go with you into the unknown of other worlds."

-------------------

You rest for the night and wake up.

(I assume that the new information would change your plan.)

I nod to Lady Enza, "That makes a lot of sense. I will go and rest and thank you for organizing the seals."

---------------------
I forget how much my character knows about Verser's having people come along with them. I believe he found out that sometimes people who form a bond travel with, but not how it works or anything like that. That's the perspective the below is written from.

To Lita:
"I would love nothing more for you to come with me, I don't know the exact process that people follow versers into the verse... but it's possible and we have a strong bond... I am so pleased you want to come with me, and I look forward to exploring untold worlds with you."

--------------

Before heading off to fight I'll check if Lita has a solar tree fruit I could use. It seems like the type of situation where if there are consumables to be had, you use them.

Either way, I'll kiss her and say:
"Good luck in your part today, remember I love you and either way we'll be together."

And I'll head off to get Selene to open the way to Jormungandr's resting place for Leona and I to go down into.

If I have time once down there, I'm going to try the same preparation I had originally intended, meditating in wait for when I can strike true at Jormungandr.

Do I get the impression that there's a component of this that's going to require me to delay the fight, or are the seals largely going to be ready and they need Leona and I to render Jormungandr unconscious?

You head back to Lita's house.

---------

She holds you tight and you fall asleep in each other's arms.

---------

Lita does have one solar fruit left and gives it to you before kissing you. She them goes off the help her mentor with the seals.

You head to Leona's house and find a note from Leona that says Meet Her and Selene on the Hill of Promise next to the Spiral Tower.

You go and find Leona with Selene. You seem to get the tail end of a conversation.

"... Your actions of helping others will lead you on the path to becoming a Moon Beauty! The two sides of the moon, affection and lunacy... Mastering these opposing forces is the way to become a true Moon Beauty!"

"... I suppose that you are right. That means I am the only one that can open this door. You do realize that when I open that door, Jörmungandr will start the process of waking up and then I will have to try to hold it while you and Michael go down."

"I know. I believe in you Selene.  You are definitely strong enough to do this."

At about this point they notice you. Leona says
"Hey Michael.  Are you ready to go down?"

I nod to Leona, "I'm ready, and nothing to be gained from waiting at this point."

I'm going down wielding Vadahf, and wearing the red jade hat and bracers. I'm bringing the rest of the artifact weapons to be used by my furies as anchors, but planning to use Vadahf as my primary weapon in the fight.

When we get down there if there is time I'll begin charging the weapons as I described previously. But whether there is time will really depend on Selene it sounds like.

Selene nods and then starts glowing with pale moonlight.
Her voise calls out in a different language but you still understand.

"Hear This, Spirit of the Ancients!
We are the Lunar Children, following the line of our mother, and her ancestors. The evil that you sealed away in the past is trying to break free. We wish to lay this evil to rest, just as you did. I ask that you grant us the means to subdue this beast! I am your child, Selene, the Moon Beauty!"

The Door at the base of the Tower opens and then Selene is forced to one knee.

"The Doomsday Beast... Incredible... Just holding the reins on this one is too much pressure...! Leona, Michael, it's up to you now to strike Jormungandr. It doesn't look like I can leave here any time soon. This is my battle... You have your own battle awaiting you! Now go forth!

You enter with Leona and find a Solar Civilization style elevator made of hardened light.

You head Down and you feel space shift in nature. Similar to the teleport you have felt before. But instead of moving through space. It feels like the atmosphere  and nature of the space change to something
oppressive, crushing and hungry. Like you are a tiny meal to be eaten without a second thought.

You feel an overwhelming... thing with your Essence senses. It is Monstrous and akin to Darkness. You land on stone islands floating in a purple mist. There is a rock bridge to the next island ahead of you.

As we go down, I'll call back to Selene, "Be strong Moon Beauty, may this be all of our hour of glory."

-----------

When we get to the bottom and are surrounded by the purple mist I realize that I won't be trying my original plan. I don't know what absorbing motes down here would do... though that doesn't rule it out as a possibility later.

"Looks like we have a way to travel, let's move quickly. No telling when it will wake."

I'm keeping an eye and my senses open to try and find the center of this area, where this monstrous essence is strongest and the beast is rising.

Leona nods and moves with you as both of you cross the bridge.
The Direction you need to go is obvious from the monstrous essence.

You encounter some small fry. Such as skeletons. but they have been warped from being down here. Some have two faces on their skull. Others have two heads and 6 arms. You mow through them until you encounter a three headed dog that feels a bit stronger than the small fry. It feels like like it is mainly Darkness but you also feel Fire, Ice and Wind.

"We are not here to release Jormungandr, but rather reseal him. I suspect that you are a guard, we seek to aid you in preventing his escape. I feel the balance of elements in you, of the Fire, Ice, and Wind. Please allow us to pass, oh great Cerberus. You should be able to sense my own dedication to balance in elements. Jormungandr rising would only lead to the end, and there is no balance to be found in the end of everything."

All Three Heads glare at you for a long moment As if considering if what you say is true. Then They step to the Side and let you pass.

You continue to the final door and enter. You feel the darkness on the floor and realize you are standing on coils and coils of snake like flesh piled on top of itself and the bound with countless chains and shackles. You See the head Suspended from the ceiling with four cracked chains. It has four eyes on each side of it's head and it's maw splits it's face down the middle with zig zaging lips. A snake like tongue darts out of it's lips and tastes the air. it has fleshy vestigial wings that are obviously too small for it to fly with. It's flesh is covered with a layer of solid darkness giving it's skin a purple tinge. It's eyes open and all of them stair at you with hunger. It's Irises are blood red.

It moves and the chains from the ceiling shatter.

It's maw peels back, splitting it's head in half and revealing countless dagger and sword like teeth that curve inward into it's gullet. It's roar is otherworldly. You can't really think of what it sounds like but it is really loud.

It Lunges at both of you with it's maw open but you dodge out of the way of the car sized head.

"This is the Ancestor Piece, Jormungandr! Maybe the Ancestor Piece possesses no reason...Maybe all there is to it is a greedy instinct to swallow everything up! Let's do it, Micheal!"

"Move towards the head, if we can get on the back of it's head it should be harder for it to lash out with those strikes. Plus it looks to be the most vulnerable."

I say this as I'm already charging along the coils up towards the back of the head. As I'm going I'm stabbing the various Artifact weapons attuned to each of my furies into the coil and internally saying to the furies:

Ok guys, this is it. Last time it sounds like it took a coalition of forces to take this thing down. I think that's part of the key to success here, hitting it with a bunch of different element types. I'm planting the artifacts into Jormungandr, manifest and let's all hit him together.

So my plan is to plant each weapon in the coils as I'm running up, and then manifest all my furies and attack at full intensity. While each one is attacks the area of the coil they were on, I'm trying to make my way to the back of the snakes head and drive Vadahf through the top of it's skull, ripping Vadahf out sideways and starting a whirling dervish as I slash viciously at it's neck. I'll mention to Leona that the wings may have symbolic power, she should try to sever them if she can.

It turns towards you and lunges again. You dodge to the outside and draw the tetsubo and swing for it's eyes but the darkness solidifies around it's skin and you bounce off it and the tetsubo is rebounded away out of your hands. You bull the spear out and try it but your trusts just slide off the armor of darkness. You drop the spear and Pull out the Two swords. You slash in a whirling dervish but it doesn't seem to harm the armor of darkness. Then you have to dodge out of the way of another lunge. You draw the swords and Try the dagger. Darting in close as it turns it's attention to Leona and lunges for her. The dagger pierces the Armor. But it doesn't hurt Jormungandr. Again you drop the Dagger to allow your Furies to pull themselves out. Then You pull out your Solar gun and Fire point blank. And the shot Produces a lot of black smoke. But Jormungandr is unharmed. You Feel Galad and the others pull themselves out of your inner world. You find Galad next to you with his hand on the solar gun. You Hand it off to him and commit fully to using Vadahf. You see the others with their Weapon. Vex is in your shadow holding her dagger n her mouth by the grip. the others are around the arena.

Galad leaps back and says
"I got an Idea. Vex, Hide in Glantri's shadow. I'm sorry But this is the only path I see."

He Kneels and a Massive magic circle with the Sun's emblem on it forms and then Rises up above the Battle field. It glows brighter and brighter until it flashes and you see blue sky and the sun over head through the portal.Sunlight comes down and burns off the armor of Darkness. Reveling pale flesh underneath.

You dart in and slash at it's eyes, cutting it and forcing it to rear up.

It turns to Galad and you can feel the Hungry Glare coming from it.

I'm envisioning Nix, Zeke, Hermes, and Ursulus working in tandem and shielding elemental dome around Galad, darting in to strike deflecting blows when Jormungandr tries to get to Galad.

While they do that, with Vex in my shadow, I'm going on the offensive against Jormungandr, trying to inflict heavy damage to stagger it with each strike having Vex lashing out as a followup to each attack, as my shadow gets close enough. Once it's staggered, that should be Leona's cue to dive in for heavy damage, with Vex and I positioning to keep it staggered and off balance once it recovers. Going to try and repeat that cadence, allowing Leona to focus on being in position for devastating attacks when it's staggered, and Vex and I focusing on hobbling attacks.

You get those Instructions out and then Jormungandr lunges for Galad. But Ursulus intercepts the lunge and uses the White Jade tetsubo as a bit to stop the lunge. The other three slash both sides of Jormungandr's face. Forcing it to back off and pant with it's serpentine tongue. You go in and slash four times, cutting deeply into it's tongue and then Vex stabs the dagger into the tongue...

You notice something odd about the stab. The dagger is not acting Supernaturally sharp against Jormungandr's tongue. It is acting like a normal dagger against it.

It's Tongue goes back into it's mouth. Then it rears up and starts drawing in darkness for what feels like an attack.
But Leona leaps up and strikes with her Solar Halberd. Knocking the attack off course and forcing it to fire prematurely.  Even so, it was a nasty attack that fires off countless orbs of Darkness.

Hmm, interesting, so it looks like attacking the tongue might be key, unless I'm making a poor assumption. My guess is that while the dagger is not acting supernaturally sharp against the tongue, that's because it's a focal point of Jormungandr's power/essence and as such has significant enough magic behind it to resist the dagger's supernatural severing.

I'll focus on dodging the orbs that get close to me, and then work on pressing Jormungandr more, trying to set Leona up for another big attack. I'm starting to expend wind motes to increase my speed so that I can keep a flurry of attacks on Jormungandr and not allow it time to regather itself.

My goal this time around is to either sever or cripple his wings, which while they look ornamental something makes me think there may be symbolic magic associated with them, or at least be a significant pain point if I were to hit them hard enough.

I'm looking to dart in and start making as many small and painful cuts as possible wherever Jormungandr isn't currently protecting itself.

Once I wear Jormungandr down further, I'm going to try and jump on the back of his head and sink Vadahf in as Vex sinks her dagger into the opposite side of the back of the neck, and start trying to drive him towards the ground.

From what I understand this creature runs off darkness energy. It may be a massive amount, but with it already weakened my plan is to use my mote pump to draw motes out of it and feed it to Vex (assuming it's darkness motes)

"Vex, it's not every day we find this many motes to feast on, I need you to focus on the elements that make you you while I channel these towards you.

Between the onslaught of my furies, Leona, and me siphoning off as many darkness motes as possible, I hope to buy the outside time to finish the sealing ritual.

Vex tilts her head to the side, nods and returns to your soulscape.

You Hear Vahdahf in your Mind.
I know how to kill it. We Need to go down to it's core.

Jörmungandr wakes up and Roars. Vahdahf says in your mind Now!
And you Rush down it gullet as it lunges at you. Bypassing the teeth.

You slide down and keep Vahdahf ready. You Sense the Core of Dark essence coming near. You Strike as one with Vahdahf. Purging her into the core of Darkness. It is bleeding liquid darkness. You Activate your Mote Pump and drink in it's lifeblood. It is a corruptive darkness but Vex protects you by consuming it. Vahdahf isn't just cutting physically. But also cutting the Metaphysical structure of its soul as well. She is drawing power from you at a slow rate to do this. You sense the end is near for Jörmungandr and then Vahdahf Draws a massive amount from you. Killing the Unkillable. The Paradox from this rips Jörmungandr's heart apart with an explosion that cascades through Jörmungandr. Unfortunately. You are in the middle of it and your body is shredded in the conflux.

You move on to your next world.
