Major NPCs
Captain Blake Dorn.
GNA navy captain, commander and chief of the Marco Polo. At age 53 he is the only person on board above fifty. Quiet, contemplative man. Sharp-witted, this former submarine commander feels right at home in what he lovingly calls his mile-long tube of metal.
Major Tom Ascott.
British SAS commander, in charge of the military detachment on board CS-8. His special forces training gives him the ability to cook tactical solutions on the fly. Tried to refuse his assignment to the Marco Polo twice, but halfheartedly. After all, orders are orders, and despite knowing he will never see his family again he accepted the post with pride.
Tech Sergeant Kong-We Lu.
A brilliant chinese technician, Kong-We was hand picked to lead the detachment of engineers assigned to keep CS-8's shuttle and jet department in top shape. She knows every detail of the vessel, her photographic memory allowing her to see parts that are hidden from view to even the best of eyes. She is as smart as she is ambitious, and considers the Polo her child.
Colonel Walter 'Doc' Genassi.
An ER surgeon of mixed Belgian-Italian descent, Genassi runs the medical facilities on CS-8. While he himself is the first to recognise not all medical fields are within his grasp, he has a knack for figuring out who to utilise instead.
Jan VanderBeek.
Chief entertainment officer on board the Polo. Nothing happens on the recreational deck without him knowing, or at least he says so. Known to be a prankster and has a reputation as a trouble-maker. Despite that he knows his job, and there is no better man to prepare you a steak.
Chief engineering Stephen Cornell.
Originally a botanicus, Cornell started out by saving the ship from destruction when he woke up, and was subsequently handed the chief engineering position. He makes do, but prefers the plants of the hydroponics deck.
