Lisa walked into the barrack section and found her way to the mess or wherever the food was. She was obviously a civilian, but she supposed that wasn't uncommon right now with the non-civilian food sources not up and running. She got herself a tray and got into line to get some food.

<-- Schmidt's Quarters

Mike quickly found his way through the barracks, grabbing a tray and entering the line behind a tall, broad shouldered woman, obviously a civilian by what she wore, but, well, so was he.

Looking down at his blue tee shirt and jeans, Mike realized that he had forgotten something important. His shoes. He sighed as he waited to be served.

The mess hall was unusually quiet for the time of evening, most marines readied for an eventual boarding of CS-3. Still, most tables held at least some people, both military and civilian, with VanderBeek trying to talk to everyone at least for a few moments.

As Eric Whitechapel fell in line for some food behind Mike, Mikoto Mishada, diva extraordinaire, started making a fuss over at the counter. it seemed the food was not to her liking today.

Lisa continued waiting for the line to move. Mikoto Mishada was throwing some temper tantrum or something and holding things up. Well, she did have a reputation for being a diva. Even her time as an actress had clued her into that fact. She vaguely wondered if the woman would remember her. Probably not. She didn't really expect most people to know who she was though. It wasn't important here.

She glanced over at Mike, the guy who had fallen in line behind there. "Hi there. I'm Lisa, and we'll apparently be weathering this latest drama together," she commented with a slight grin at him. Really, some people made mountains out of the stupidest molehills. "Good to meet you." She could tell he was a civilian too, based on his appearance. Well, either that or he literally was a military guy who was just thawed out she supposed.

Mike hesitated for the barest moment, before returning Lisa's grin. "Nice to meet you to Lisa, my names Mike. As for the drama...," Mike glanced over at where Mikoto was making her presence known, before chuckling softly. "Well, at least its dinner and a show, right? Might as well make the best of it. Though I will say that she's good at it. Complaining, that is."

Shaking his head Mike looks Lisa up and down before recognition dawns in his eyes. "Hey, aren't you an actress? You seem familiar from somewhere...."

"True enough. They just thawed me out, so I'll admit that I don't have a lot of idea of what to expect," Lisa responded. A nod was given when Mike asked if she was an actress. "I was, yes. Played She-Hulk in the movies. Though I dare say that around here that's not the profession I'll end up taking on, at least not for awhile. Resettlement doesn't require new movies to be made." Which was, perhaps, something that some people on the ship didn't realize. The old fame didn't really matter all that much here.

Arriving with Eric in the mess hall, Danny quickly tried for forget what had happened last time he was here, or was it the second last? He wasn't quite sure.

He waited in line, and when he saw Mike Schmidt he gave a shy wave and a meek "Hello"

As they all got closer to the food counters they noticed that even though they were eating in a barracks mess hall, there was a wide variety of food. One might even call it a small buffet, with several meats, vegetables, potatoes and pastas. "Can you believe that," Whitechapel mentioned, more to himself than anyone in particular. "All these choices, and she's still not satisfied?" He looks at Danny, a slight worried look on his face. "Man, are we supposed to beat this for food?"

Meanwhile VanderBeek's socialising had found his way over to the line. The immaculately dressed, somewhat dandy morale officer stopped as he notices Lisa Sky, looking her up appreciatively.
"Now there is a young woman I have not met yet." He steps over, extending his hand in greeting, then pressing a gentleman's kiss on the top of Lisa's hand.
"Jan VanderBeek, CMO. I seem to be running day to day civilian affairs. Not a hard task with so little civilians awake I must add." He smiles warmly.

In the back of the hall once again Mikoto Mishida is throwing a tantrum. A young ensign holding a tray stares sheepishly at the ground as she rages, a bowl of soup all over the table she was sitting at.

"You must be Lisa Sky, She-hulk. I must say your social media pictures did not do your beauty justice. Although I had expected you taller."

VanderBeek shrugs as he too notices the ruckuss. He then nods at the others in line.
"Gentlemen. I trust you can show this young lady around for a bit. I will drop by your table later for a chat. I must attend to Miss Mishida's needs first it seems."

Lisa overheard Whitechapel's comments about the food and nodded in agreement, even if she wasn't in that particular conversation right now. Some people were pretty fussy eaters. Lisa had her requirements, but she wasn't fussy about exactly what food it was she ate. She'd traveled a lot and that meant learning how to not have a delicate tongue when it came to food.

Her thoughts were interrupted by Jan's approach, however. It was a little hard to tell if Jan was flirting with her or not, but Lisa certainly couldn't find fault with the guy's confidence. "A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Vanderbeek, and thank you," Lisa replied to his compliment about her looks. "Perhaps I'll have some time to work on my photography skills since I did bring my equipment along." She didn't comment on the height remark. She was six feet and eight inches tall; she figured he had to be joking a little bit. Heck, even the She-Hulk character was an inch shorter in the comics, from what she remembered of her character research.

"Good luck," she said to the CMO as he left to go deal with Mishida. Lisa didn't envy him one little bit. Still, she supposed that if the diva didn't calm down she'd walk over and calm her down.

Mike grew quiet after Lisa answered his question, letting everyone else speak as he listened from the side lines. After all, it was what he did best.
His response to Danny's meek 'Hello' was a quiet smile and a small wave.

After Vanderbeek left to go deal with the diva, Mike finished filling his tray and turned to Lisa, his eyebrow raised in question. "Well, seeing as we both have no idea what to expect, how about we go sit down with someone who might, eh?" Gesturing towards the table where Danny and Eric are sitting, Mike does a small bow, silently indicating that she, as the lady, should go first.

Lisa collected her food. "Seems like a reasonable choice to me," the tall woman said as she looked over towards where the other two men were seated. She walked over towards Danny and Eric. "Mind if we join you?" Lisa asked. Having gotten out of cryo just recently, she didn't know exactly how things worked around here, which mostly meant asking a lot of questions and possibly permission.

Probably permission was important, she suspected, given it was mostly military who had woken up.

Danny smiled welcomingly externally, and internally smiled about this luck! It always felt like luck when something good happened, sort of like he should be grateful, but not to anyone in particular, just in general.

He didn't want to speak first, that was not his character, but if nobody started talking, he would say something to alleviate pressure.

Meanwhile, he silently as possible set up his utensils and cracked open one of the food he had obtained from the servers.

Mike chuckled as he looked at the man sitting next to Danny, his eyes giving off a sense of deep thought. "Well, that we can both agree on."

Carefully placing his tray down on the table, Mike pulled out a chair and turned towards Lisa, his smile warm, but somehow still not quite reaching his eyes.
"If I may offer you a seat, Miss Lisa?" He asked politely.

Lisa took the offered chair. "Thank you," she replied as she placed her tray down on the table and got comfortable, or as comfortable as one can get in a mess hall. "Figured I'd either wake up fairly early or late in the process. No middle ground. Kind of glad, actually. Getting in on things on the ground floor, so to speak. I'm Lisa, for those I haven't met yet," she said to the group.

Mike winced visibly at Lisa's question, looking down at the table for a moment before answering. "I was a part-time mechanic in the family's repair business, along side Father and James. Mostly I just, well, cleaned stuff after they were done."

Shrugs his shoulders as he takes another bite, continuing after he swallowed. "Had a few cleaning jobs, you know, janitor stuff. Worked at a Walmart, a couple fast food joints. It was quiet... most of the time." He added at the end with a sigh, stabbing his pasta with his fork. "As for now? I have no clue. Probably do some cleaning, or relax for once in my life."

"If you want" he added, trying not to seem to commanding.
