A nice appartment designated for civilians. A medium sized living room, small kitchen, bathroom with toilet, and a master bedroom. There's all the furnishings needed to live comfortably, including king size bed and 65 inch multi-functional media wall monitor. It even has a state of the art gaming system with full immersive virtual reality.

Danny savored the moment he opened the door to his room, although he was upset, and had just made a fool of himself, no reason for this moment to be spoiled.

He mentally rose his cheeriness to about normal, and then opened the door.

What he saw actually made him stop moving, and his heart stopped too.

"Oh my god..." He started, taking a full minute to finish, "It's gorgeous!" he finished letting out his breath.

He was tempted to ask the AI if it was having another system glitch, but he didnt want to bother the AI too much...

"Welp. I guess I should move in" he said still in shock at the luxury of the room.

Mentally he was starting to cheer up, thinking about how easy this move was compared to a normal one back on the Earth.

All his things were already in the room.

His clothes were all stacked neatly in his drawers, and his possesions packed tightly in a box.

"Wow, this is like, one of those NostalgiaCrates from back on Earth" Danny said aloud.

To him, reopening all this stuff was like heaven, seeing all his favorite things for the first time in a hundred years, was like seeing a new toy, but in HD from the perspective of a child.

Danny closed his door, but didnt shut it completely.

It took him a half hour to unpack his stuff and place it around the room in seemingly random order...
Although the order wasn't random.

For Danny, everything he did was to make things better.

The order he used was like this: I want this to look as aesthetically pleasing as possible, and I want it to be practical, with room for changes when I feel like one.

He also set it up too look good and welcoming for someone entering the room, his little touch of genuine acceptance. 'Not like there'l be anyone in here anyway' he thought glumly, "Well until the breeding stage" he joked in his mind, while in reality, making gestures like he's the hottest guy in the world.

All this was in good taste, not really sexual or anything, just an inside joke.

Danny often practices up to hours a day, just to be able to pull off a smile.

When Danny finished it was almost 8:00, he still had some time first.

"I know JUST what to do..." Danny said aloud

He always did think of himself a little bit of an interior designer.

Although this little feature would be exterior...


Danny quickly pulled out a pen and paper, set it next to his Bed, and wrote a little note.

Using some tape, he stuck the note to his front door, it read "Hi friend! Knock, if I'm not busy I'll let you in" he added a little winky face to the end and had a laugh.


He then sat on his bed and started pondering the mistakes he made at Breakfast calmly, no need to be a crybaby.

After Danny was done figuring out his obvious failures to communicate, he knew he'd have to look into himself, and talk about the incident.

The thing is, when Danny had barely made it on the spacecraft, he figured, well I wont see any of these people for at least 5 or 6 years while I'm frozen... But I'll see them again


He figured, with the technology they had, he'd probably be able to make some personal calls, or something once in a while. He knew the Earth wasn't doomed for a while, so he'd have enough time to help save his species.


Danny had thought of so many possible ways it could go wrong, it stressed him out, but in the end he chose the option of going in.


Danny didn't have any loved ones per se, but he had had a lot of close friends..


it was around 8:30 am at this time, and Danny was getting deep into his psyche


'I assumed this was a possibility... Well there will be setbacks.' he thought calmy as he could be, 'Let's see... I know we'll probably find somewhere habitable before the ehnd of my life... God, I dont want to spend my whole life here...', he started thinking about the necessities for him if he were to be able to live with this.

The things he came up with quite quickly were these: I want to find a planet to live on, I know this place is nice, but Humans weren't meant to LIVE in space, maybe travel for a 150 years while frozen, but by the time our generation is done and old, things aren't going to be lasting...

He knew riots would start, inner wars would happen, maybe they'd all die.


He started thinking about the saboteurs for a while, before getting back on track on his list.


He also came up with; If we find a planet, I absolutely REFUSE to harm anyone who is native there.

He hated the idea, from the beginning, of Humans finding a new planet, and ruining it like the old one.


It wasn't hard to live VERY comfortably, and NEVER even harm a planet half the size of earth.



Although overpopulation would still be a problem...


He wouldn't live with himself if they arrived somewhere, and killed off intelligent creatures


He couldnt do that.




The third, final, and suprising thing he came up with was: I want a family.


Danny had always wanted to have a family, He knew having children was one of the most difficult things, but he knew it would be worth it.

Danny knew he would make a good dad.

Danny also knew he would want to settle down with someone, but was less eager about that one.



Danny drifted in sadness for a while, and then let his mind wander again.



After a while he was interrupted with an official-sounding voice telling people to buckle up if they wanted to, and that...

that...

We'll be leaving in 1 minute.



Danny was really happy to hear that, it was great to think they were making progress.

""It's all gonna be alright he said aloud, "Things will work out."


He put himself under his matress, just to be safe, knowing nothing would go wrong, but still preparing for the worse, and then he waited for the movement to begin.

He smiled under the weight of the matress, everythings gonna be alright, its gonna go fine, ill be ok, everyone will be happy, things will be good, its ok, its ok, its ok, its all okay.

After a few minutes Danny realised that the engines weren't going to cause an earthquake, he got out of his mattress, at this time he took his watch out of it's storage, and set it to 9:03 am.

Danny got up from under his bed, and shook off all his sad feelings, if he were to get back to his old self, he would need to be cheerful, empathetic, and attentive.

At the mess hall for breakfast he had talked so much nobody else was able to speak, that wass unlike Danny, he had listened to so many people's problems, he was pretty much a walking empathy dispenser.

He decided he would check on the injured guy he had helped earlier, and talk to him and stuff.

But first he got dressed in some bright clothing, this took a few minutes.

"Well, off I go..." he said to himself, checking his watch, it read 9:05 AM
