Re: The Kobold Lair - Gardbury Downs

Suddenly as he attacks and misses the spirit, grasping claws of smoky shadow rise up out of the ground and holds his legs as the spirit laughs at him.
"You are too late - you can not stop us!" It vanishes and appears some distance away while the claws hold him in place.

The skulk laughs and with a magical twist, vanishes in thin air.
The slinger sees the roaring halforc and turns as he is caught and grabbed. Laughing he slings at him. Three stones fly at him but only one hit his temple hard.
The drakes and hired swords advance at Saskan and the group - two of them strike at him!
One hits with the club and bruises Saskans arm slightly.

Ignatz easily bursts free from his necrotic restraints, ignoring the searing pain of the shadowy claws' touch, but he doesn't look like he's doing well. Blood pours from his head wound, matting his hair and sideburns. Nonetheless he launches himself at his prey with another roar, only to have his attack miss completely due to his own blood in his eye.

Malphurious emits a breath of cold air against the horde of enemies before jumping into the fray.  Though the aged warrior let out a cough once his breath attack had finished and he had a look of concern upon his face.

Warfryn scuttled along the line of the edge of the crater, keeping his head well down.  From the howls of Ignatz it might be necessary to get really stuck in but as yet he decided to continue the skulking sniper.

His nearest target was now one of the rabble-like folk and so he brought down his Warlock's curse on that one before attacking his original target with another Eldritch Blast.

Saskan shifted closer to Ignatz, seeing the barbarian may have gone too far too fast and said, "Hold on Ignatz, I'll be there as soon as I can kill this rabble." Thankfully Ignatz took that call as heartening and missed Saskan's next action, stabbing out at the minion in front of him and whiffing. He was adjusting to the new weapon he now wielded and clearly he should have stuck with his long sword.

The halfling is still out of sight and one could fear it wielding the feymagic in wicked way, would suit you unwell once it is emitted.
The drakes break and charges towards the foes behind it, risking their limbs doing so(Malph, I reckon that is an OA for you?).
One hired sword strike at Saskan, the other try to take down Malph.
The drakes find Kbenjar and launched a sickening bite into each of his sides, working in unison to cause him great harm.

A flurry of light emits upon the specter that hisses in annoyance. Slowly it raises its incorporal hand and chants.
Suddenly, near Malph, a zombie rises from the dead flesh of the man he struck down, and it asaults him! One hits, and causes a slight wound.

A dark shadow roams above you all, slightly blocking out the sun, and you hear faint sounds in the distance...

With his allies being harried all around him, Malphurious's focus hones to a sharp point as he begins to cleave through the lesser enemies around him.  With one swipe of his flail, he crushed the skulls of the zombie and one of the rabble that had attempted to surround him.  His nephew created a opening, which he kindly exploited, bashing the last of the human workers down.

Seeing the dwarven invoker fall to the combined onslaught of the guard drakes, he rushed south to summon earthen spirits to taunt the guard drakes away from his friends and to him.  "Time to die beasts," he shouted further drawing their attention.

Note: While normally, reaching negative value of bloodied(26/2=13) and Kbenjar being at 24(-38)=-14, means instant death, the heal comes of at the same time(same initiative and dex so I opted to let the surge hit just in the nick of time.
Hence, he is now at -7(surge+1d6) and rolls his first death save.
- I will let him roll for this, as he is unconscious and needs more healing(to 0 at least) or:

Stabilize the Dying: Make a DC 15 Heal check to stabilize an adjacent dying character. If you succeed, the character can stop making death saving throws until he or she takes damage. The character’s current hit point total doesn’t change as a result of being stabilized.

The drakes snarl and bite back, one bleeding heavily.
The rabble falls and the spirit snarls and vanishes in a flash leaving Ignatz behind as the claws appear from the ground. However, missing he is but out of sight, appearing near the slinger whom again tries to strike him but also narrowly misses.
Ignatz notices a figment of a person appear, too late, as it sinks in a heavy blow on Saskan.

Re: The Kobold Lair - Gardbury Downs

Malph's strike finished the first drake and Warfryn's warlock power kicked in.  He teleported over to the right hand side of the crater, once again half hiding amongst the rocks and the shadows.

A quick look round and his actions were clear.  He summoned Witchfire onto the remaining drake and added to it the damage from his existing curse.  Turning his attention to the fleeting image of the skulking creature he called down the challenge of Corellon on the fiend.  Perhaps it would at least impede it in its attacks.

His work was almost over.  Another glance saw Ignatz almost finish off the little slinger...just not quite enough!  Warfryn took a deep breath to control his breathing and fired off an Eldritch Blast at the slinger, hoping to free Ignatz from that particular combat.

As he smote the beast down, he sensed the second one was not as confident now.  His nephew shouted out as he was ambushed by the assassin and called for aid.  Shifting away with shield drawn to fend of any attacks by the remaining drake, he rushed towards the assassin looking to bring him down.  Driving forward with unrelenting attacks, his first swap pushed the fiend back, and the second sent him flying back, down for the count with a battle cry, "Loreat Vilklvi!" Re: The Kobold Lair - Gardbury Downs

Malphurous traded places with Ignatz, as the barbarian charged into the drake and he waded into combat with the haunting specter.  Using his flail to wrap and entangle his target, he both knocked down and grabbed the ethereal being.

OOC: Hit for 8 damage (from magic weapon), target is grabbed (until EONT), prone, marked, and suffering from a -2 attack debuff.

Move: 5 squares from L9 to O5.
Std: Serpents Coil hits
Free: trigger weapon daily ability, convert slide into prone.

15:50, Today: Malphurious rolled 8 using 1d8+5.  damage.
15:49, Today: Malphurious rolled 22 using 1d20+9.  serpents coil on specter (AC18).
