Re: Out of Character thread

@Vyn So, all of them are prone, most of them are immobilized and they're taking damage?  Also, looks like 2 of those were crits (2x 25s)

quote:
Hit: 2d6 + Intelligence modifier psychic damage, and the target falls prone. The target is immobilized until the end of its next turn.

Miss: Half damage, and the target falls prone.

Effect: The burst creates a zone that lasts until the end of the encounter. Any enemy that enters the zone falls prone.

Re: Out of Character thread

Nah, I have to charge to reach Bairwin, and I don't have an AP since I spent it fighting Ninaren. That's why I'm considering just moving to engage one of the big guys and popping rage, and the rushing Bairwin next turn.

If you can, wait on clarity from Vyn, but most of their front line is prone/immobilzed I think.  So enjoy the CA boosted choppy-choppy.

In reply to Storyteller (msg # 977):

That said, I can't edit the map from work, and it's my anniversary tonight, so it will be a bit before I can post.

Stahl will keep Prinz near him for now, and simply start off with making the nearest enemy his quarry and using careful attack with his bow. Someone could probably roll that up, if they wanted my turn posted before I'm able to do it.

Actually I just double checked and with +9 Athletics I auto-succeed on 5' jumps and 10' jumps if I have a running start, lol

Re: Out of Character thread

I cannot edit the map from mobile.
Other than that: post edited to include all damage and effects.
Chasm remains in place all combat.

Can someone move my token and place the burst2 at F6.
Also, the F6 hit actually referred to F5... pain on a mobile ^^

Re: Out of Character thread

@Vyn - yeah, you're mobile view must be completely wacked out.  You must be trying to target E6, which is 3 squares in from the top left and 3 squares down if you want your burst 2 to hit the targets.  that is right in front of the alter.  That also means you are not hitting the 2 guys standing right in front of us, correct?

I did it for vynt, based on what I assume he wanted to do around f5, hitting all the targets around the alter.

Do we have some sort of hourglass in the game like... no idea... 48h or something for submitting a post during combat?
Just so I know

Normally yes - from my post, and 48 hours forward to keep the pace.
Have to check how far we are. ----3 days...so Malph, and saskan, please post within the next few hours!

No offense but when there lots of mistakes it's hard to post.......

F5 is a pew by the way.  F5 is 4 across the top from the left, then down 2.  There is a huge disconnect from what I'm seeing and what Vyn is posting.  Ignatz is posting coherent square references.

It happens. Is there anything that would make it easier to post when there are lots of mistakes?

Did you have specific questions that you'd like clarified? Can a player clarify, or do you need the GM to clarify?

Maybe it would help if it could be decided that either the map or the text takes precedence when it comes to certain facts, or if players could on their turn, post descriptions and modify the map to what they think is correct.

Re: Out of Character thread

I mean, I applaud Vyn for posting from the beach, that's dedication.  But it just seemed like everytime I got on to post and reviewed the actions, there was something that needed to be adjusted so I knew what action to take and what, if any, modifiers would be applicable.  Today got away from me at work, but its been 12 hours since things were fixed, so I'm well within the 48 hour window.

I think I understand what you're saying. I'm just on the look out for ways to smooth out dealing with mistakes, so I am curious how people think about them and react toward them.

Re: Out of Character thread

I really don't see your problem.
The alignment has always been off, regardless whether it's computer, tablet or mobile.
We are agreeing that D4 is top left, right?
That makes Bairwin D6
F6 is the centre of my Burst2. It therefore covers D4-H8.
The only mistake was to name one victim to be at F6 instead of F5.
For those affected I went from where I stand. Thus h6, h8, f8, f5 and d6.

Re: Out of Character thread

Ahh... now I see the confusion for I definitely see Malph on K7, not L7.
And Ignatz, too, so it must be my devices.
Weird.
One thing though... what about initiative?
At the time Malph acts, my chasm is not there yet... nor is Ignatz btw, the barbarian acts after the foes!

It's a little hectic, but Storyteller likes us to just post turns ASAP and resolve initiative order after the fact, sacrificing a little clarity for some extra post speed

I should have specified, but I would have held my standard action to 22 to benefit from the light of Warf torch.  It's inconsequential, but I will make me at 22 as well

Maybe it would help if it could be decided that either the map or the text takes precedence when it comes to certain facts, or if players could on their turn, post descriptions and modify the map to what they think is correct.

Again, I have to quote this.
- Would it solve the issue to simply remove the lettering and numbers? Simply put A1 is the top left square and thus even on phone(tested this), it will always be the same regardless of size? Seems like a simply fix to something that seems to take way to much time to be honest.
- Promoting fun and crazy combat above discussing things to death - hence why I prefer the 48 hour deadline FROM MY INITIAL ROUND POST. It keeps the pace up and the game does not stagnate. This to me seems like a solid way to approach the intent of 4e combat - both strategy but also promote action and options. Someone to jump on a pew and go all nuts or use tables in an inn to their advantage - I promote this by adding it to the sidebar of the map.
- I added a small boxer kind of dog for you Stahl. I found it fitting.

Again, suggestions - are always welcome, as they make the game better for the all of us.
