Re: Out of Character thread

Yeah, we didn't have much of a lead, which is why we didn't accost her immediately.  We only wanted to watch her and see how she and Barwin reacted upon our return.  That was a reasonable response given our relative weak but only possible person we,d interacted with that fit those descriptions. Now, Ignatz got a little over zealous, more than Malph had intended.

Actually, with Ignatz going for non-lethal damage he did perfect :-)

Yes, once she revealed herself.  I meant more of we were just watching and he made a grab attempt on her.  Turned out to not be her, but the intent was there.

As for why the elf was our #1 suspect, the Captain of the Guard didn't know the location of the kobolds.  Based off his knowledge of the kobold raid locations, Saskan rolled well enough to triangulate the rough position.  Then Warf learns of the supposed exact location from the elf.  That fit into his judged area of likelihood.  Why she hadn't told Rond of the location of the kobold is a significant concern, which was going to be my main question to her had she not run, but tried to play it cool.  Plus, those battles were brutal, likely she saw us as a threat to whatever is going on.  After those battles, we would have even more suspicion since it wasn't like she said " well they are here, but there is no way you 5 could take them on, there are too many".  Again, not one thing to point to her, but enough to arouse reasonable suspicion and warrant even a basic questioning.  Moot now, of course, but reasonably concluded.

Just to summarize, will someone initiate the questioning or should I proceed the game to aid this?

I reckon you could go ahead and do that, if nobody who's on right now wants to write that scene out themselves. I know Ignatz wouldn't.

Re: Out of Character thread

I will do so in the morning or tonight, as I am sadly drawn into a conference call atm.
I will give you alot to work with, and drive the game forward.
I will also include Vynts meeting with the sage and summarize you all to a stable spot, as the game is a bit "spread" and hectic at the moment.

In reply to Storyteller (msg # 934):

That's a great idea to get us all aligned again.

Do make sure to include some sort of phrase like "they all shared all they had learned" somewhere ^^

I planned to do that, simply for the sake of ease. I might summarize a few key things, but not overdo it with matters that confuse.

As to Ninaran's guilt, don't forget DM's message 57

quote:
Ninaran cursed, but laughed also. "You come so few - you will become one with the dark of night! Irontooth failed...I won't!"

Just wanna reassure Malph that I'm not quite as confident OOC as Ignatz is hahaha. I know he worries about me~ but while Ignatz may not, I remember that he nearly died in both of the examples he just cited.

I think we have everything we can get off this elf.
It's Bairwin we need to arrest now.
I fear he may have used the distraction to disappear though :-(

Re: Out of Character thread

Malphurious:
After nearly two days journey, the band of warriors had nearly returned to Winterhaven.  The keep loomed in the distance.  It was a welcome sight after their numerous battles and near death experiences, especially for Ignatz and Kbenjar.

"Saskan, I think you should present the bounty and findings to Lord Padraig.  Meanwhile, Warfyn, you'll be the one to monitor Bairwin since the elf knows you by sight.  Ignatz, you and I will track down the elf.  She's clearly the most dangerous, if she is indeed the spy.  Are we agreed?"

Last indication we got of Bairwin's location was not long after this, when we commented on our return to the city- no narration of him since that point.

In reply to Ignatz (msg # 943):

Yes, but Stahl and myself were talking to him just as you gyus arrived back in town. He was there as you entered the town, then seemingly got back to his shop.

I'll wait a bit more for anyone to indulge in further interrogation of the elf, or maybe he reveals some more given Saskan's threat.

What more do we think we can get from the elf?

It would be amazingly funny if all that bravado and noise was for nothing! It just seemed from the reading that we needed to remind her exactly who was in charge :)

Re: Out of Character thread

Whether any kidnapped people are still alive, whether Karl is st the Keep, whether there's a secret entrance we could use to sneak into the keep so we don't alert all 20 hobgoblins at once, whether there are any other locations where this cult is operating besides the Keep and the two sites that we already cleared out. That's off the top of my head- I'd comment IC but I'm late for work haha

In reply to Ignatz (msg # 946):

I suggest to just work off Ignatz' list behind the screens, so to speak, rather do a back-and-forth for a couple of days.
Unless, of course, Saskan wants to play this out.

Re: Out of Character thread

I am fine with making a new thread; allowing you to finish your business here.
That said, do you wish to deal with Bairwin?
If not, I could make a new thread where you can summarize in one post what to do before heading off or whatever you decide on?

Most def yes :-)
Not sure about Warfryn's current whereabouts, there has been some discussion.
Probably easiest to go and look for him all together ?

For streamlining the game, and allowing someone like STahl to also play a bigger part, I would advise this yes.

Yes - Everyone is present, even Stahl!
Might be good to get an agreement on this point now :D

He whispered, "What keep could she be talking about?”
Errmmm, I am pretty sure we are talking of one castle. Yes, the one near the town and yes, the one called Keegan’s Keep, and yes, also known as Keep on the Shadowfell ;P

I agree, though I hadn't assumed he was there. Being new to the group, he hasn't had much to say.
