Quick question, how did you get 4 Blasts out with one spell? Unless it was meant to be for two separate castings of Eldritch Blast ofc, I will have to add on the bonus damage from Maddening Hex either way.

The spell creates more than one beam when you reach higher levels: two beams at 5th level, three beams at 11th level, and four beams at 17th level. You can direct the beams at the same target or at different ones. Make a separate attack roll for each beam.

1) So there are my first two.

2) I fly so that I am 5ft. away from the target, not in melee range for them, but as I have reach with the glaive it's melee range for me.

3) Using War Caster I cast Eldritch Blast while holding the glaive in both hands.

4) I hit, and because the Cantrip is modified by the Repelling Blast Invocation, I knock the target back 20ft.

5) This knocks them out of my threatened zone, provoking an attack of opportunity.

6)  Because I have War Caster, I get to use a spell instead of a attack of opportunity for my reaction.

7)  Cast Eldritch Blast again.


If that is too bullshit, feel free to tell me so and I'll change it.  It is pretty bullshit.  It's Rules as Written bullshit, but it's still bullshit.

Yeah pushing doesn't provoke in 5e. I'm playing the new bard in another game and it gets a push ability. I thought I could trigger an attack of opportunity by standing next to the rogue! but in the phb it references something along the line of the target needing too choose to move in order to threaten.

I'm fine with that.  I'll keep the character as is too.  At level 8 I can take Polearm Master and get an attack of opportunity/spellcast on anyone who steps into my range, so it's still worthwhile.

Cut my damage in half down to 31 (poor me), and let me know if that isn't enough to kill him.

Edit:  Oh bummer, that means I can't push them to give you all OOT either.  Oh well.  Makaria is still a whole lot of fun!

37 actually, Maddening Hex effectivly doubles the bonus from Agonizing Blast while a Hex or similar effect is up on a target. Which would kill the guy outright so there you go.

Sorry all but I'm having a lot of issues with Fibro pain and chronic fatigue lately. I'm still here and will get back to posting when I don't have to concentrate through the fog in my brain to do so.
