Re: Table Talk 2 (OOC)
No need to worry about Whistler. I can desummon him. I kinda feel like the wording of the spell would allow me to hitch the cart to him, and then desummon him, and when I summoned him again he would still have it?

Rumph and Rascal have good balance, they can ride the sledge :3

Re: Table Talk 2 (OOC)
So just so I understand:

Aise's plan is to load up the tablet and 13 people (the tablet counts as 1, as would the two goats) on the lid.

The rest are going to sneak out... bring the avalanche down and sled out?  While the rest use it for cover to sneak away?

That about sum it up?

I think there is a fog and fire component to the "sneak" group...

Re: Table Talk 2 (OOC)
The sled group are going to be distraction. The sneak group is going to have the power to bring down the avalanche at their discretion. Since, presumably, the sled group will be much faster and have cleared the avalanche zone before the sneak group. Sneak group, like Wen says, will also have the fog and fire options to them. I think the sled option has a lot of 'chaos' inherent in it so I would prefer to have the most durable and least likely to die.

Does my understanding of 'find steed' track? Since the same steed is desummoned/summoned presumably any gear would go with it. I would firmly draw the line at 'no other living creatures'. What do you think, DM?

I agree that the steed would summon/desummon.  Also any barding/saddlebags etc gear would probably go with it.  No point in carrying around horse sized armor for when you might re-summon your steed.  But a cart is hardly "equipment".  I would limit it to whatever the horse can wear.

If you want to stuff the saddlebags and lash on extra rope.  But the cart and most of the contents... yeah don't really see that being the horse's gear.

I'm open to having my mind changed if you can show me why, however.

Re: Table Talk 2 (OOC)
OK, so since I am stealthy, and not the best for the "sledge" plan I guess Me and Rio will be stealth team 6.

Does that work for everyone?

HA!

If we had STONE SHAPE we could make some stone barding....problem solved right?

Re: Table Talk 2 (OOC)
Rune-slab toboggan with goat riders as a distraction?  Yes :D  Now I'm jealous on behalf of stealth crew, because that seems awesome.  Boris will need to don some sweet shades and trigger the avalanche with a thunderous electric lute solo, just so we can be as cool as that :)

Fate: what would be entailed in moving the slab to the nearest position to start sledding down the mountain?

I bet we could distribute the goods between us to carry out, but we may need to leave the cart itself behind.

Re: Table Talk 2 (OOC)
A chariot would, in theory, be gear, and is about the same as a cart. Chariots were used far more often in the ancient world and I would feel bad for paladins that existed before the advent of the saddle and stirrup, which is surprisingly modern.

A chariot is not the "horse's gear".

Well, i don't know why you asked if I could convince you if that's your ruling on it.

Here's another idea, flaming cart pulled by whistler, unsummon. The Whistler Strike

Repeating this little question, as I imagine the answer will be important for planning purposes :)

You've got more than enough manpower to move the lid or tablet whereever you like.  A little grunting and remember to lift with your legs and you're good

Re: Table Talk 2 (OOC)
What I was really wondering is whether the top of our sledding hill is nearby, or if we'd have to drag the slab a few hundred feet through an ogre army camp to arrive there :P  What's our distance to the start of the sledding run, and what obstacles can we see on the way there?

Team Sled: Goat 1, Goat 2,

Aise- sneaking or sledding?  Who else goes where?

I believe they are keeping me with the sneak group. I don't have the range to help with the avalanche lest i move separate.

Re: Table Talk 2 (OOC)
Just a clarification- we are using the sarcophagus as the sled.  The rune slab isn't really that big... definitely not big enough for the numbers we're planning.  So- is the slab going in the bottom of the sled, or is it being moved to a "safe" location?

As for where to put the sled, I think that there is only one viable option (looking at the map) at or above the mouth of the entry.  Otherwise it runs the risk of being slammed up against the canyon walls.

I'm good with sneaking.  I can also Firebolt/Burning hands if you'd rather not sneak Wen.

Don't we have a bag of holding?  Put the slab in that!

In reply to Torgard Stoneheart (msg # 290):

Chuckle- 4x5x3 (Slab dimensions) I want to watch Torgard fit the bag of holding around that... That would be highly entertaining.  :D

Actually, my stealth rolls have been pretty good.  (Now that I say that they'll tank)  It's just Wen wasn't built to be stealthy---- at all.  But if Reo and Boris are with the stealth group, it doesn't matter.

Wen will sled.  (Shrug)

Re: Table Talk 2 (OOC)
Should we perhaps split Boris and Torgard between the two groups since they're the ones with Fog Cloud?  Even if the toboggan group isn't stealthy, it wouldn't hurt to pop ninja smoke as you sail down the mountain to blind giants trying to roll boulders after you :)

You've got a 60' shoot basically out of the Birthright Stones. This is over about 150' worth of distance.   So that's about a 20% incline...

Decent sledding hill but not anything that's going to reach breakneck speeds.

Now if you set the avalanche off behind the sled it will shoot you down like a surfer at South Point!!!

Re: Table Talk 2 (OOC)
So I am very intrigued to see how this works mechanically. How are we going to do initiatives/ Should we just do an initiative per team? Like stealth gets a roll, bad guys gets a roll, then sledge gets a roll?
