No Where for Bondo

Bondo headed out of the door into the hell of twin suns. " The Wookie lover didn't wait for the code phrase to tell em I was his contact. He told sat down and told me he had made delivery at our docking bay. That's what happened."

Garthunk looked confused.  "So you shot him?  Did he threaten you?" he asked as they hurried back toward the docking bay.  The streets were mostly empty in the darkening twilight, and the familiar cadence of marching stormtroopers could be heard nearby.  Garthunk led him down an alley to get off the main street.

"So you didn't meet the contact and shot someone in public.  Nice job, hotshot.  Zandrixx is gonna be VERY pleased," Garthunk complained.

No Where for Bondo

Taking a slightly more roundabout way to get back to the ship, Bondo and Garthunk descend a flight of stairs into the circular docking bay and find two men already at the airlock door.  The Bith has his hands against the airlock, attaching some kind of device

"Hey!" Garthunk shouts from the stairs, pulling their attention.  The Rodian pulls his blaster as the Bith presses a button on the device.  They both turn and run straight at Bondo and Garthunk.

OOC:

Initiative

Rodian     20
Garthunk   12
Bondo      11
Bith        7

No Where for Bondo

Bondo saw the two near the airlock of the ship.  When one drew a weapon, training and reflexes took over.  He raised his Blaster Carbine as he flipped the weapon onto stun.  The Ex-Stormtrooper fired the weapon at the most obvious threat, the Rodian with a blaster.

The Rodian got off the first shot, aiming at Garthunk but due to his hurried movement his shot went wide.

Garthunk fired back, but due to the moving target his shot missed as well.

Bondo's blue stun blast hit the Rodian square, causing him to collapse halfway between the ship and the two mercenaries.

The Bith leaped over the body of his companion in a mad dash to get away from the freighter.  He fumbled for his weapon and got it out, but did not bother trying to shoot back or to dive for cover.  He seemed intent on getting as far from the ship as possible.

Suddenly, the cargo door of the freighter exploded, throwing a fireball across the landing bay.

"My ship!" Garthunk howled, stepping forward and smacked the Bith with the butt of his blaster rifle, sending the dome-head to the ground in one hit.

A rusty hovering droid sprayed fire suppressant gas on the cargo door of the freighter as Garthunk got closer.  The fire was out in seconds, and the droid lazily hovered away.

"What in the Whills," Garthunk said as he moved up the ramp.  "They breached the airlock," he said.

Bondo allowed his eyes to sweep the docking bay, seeking any hidden enemies in the shadows. His Blaster carbine followed his gaze, as he moved from whatever cover to cover to clear the immediate area. Training took over his actions.

Bondo didn't see anyone else in the docking bay.

Garthunk was indidgnant.  "What?  You want him?  You stunned him!" he shouted, ignoring the order.  With all four hands he forced the cargo door open enough for him to squeeze into the ship.  The door did not close after he went inside.

As Bondo dragged the Rodian toward the cargo ramp and the damaged airlock, he heard the ship powering up.  Just as he got to the entrance, he heard footsteps on the stairs, and glanced up to see two more human thugs and a stocky Devorian.  They had weapons drawn and started to scan the landing bay, shouting when they noticed the unconscious Bith.

When Bondo saw that more uninvited party guests had arrived, he abandoned his attempt to bring the stunned thug on board. The Ex-Storm trooper entered the ship and shut the innre airlock hatch behind him.

No Where for Bondo

Tossing the Rodian off the boarding ramp, Bondo jumped inside just as blaster fire hit the outer hull.  The thick, inner airlock door was damaged and wedged open, but he could close the boarding ramp.  As he did, he felt the ship lifting off and heard continued small weapons fire hitting the hull.

Stumbling slightly, he tripped over a dark green canister sitting near the entrance.

Bondo caught tripped over something, but caught himself from doing a face plant, by bracing against the bulkhead. He looked at the source of his mistep, and beheld a dark green canister. That thing had not been there before, when they had departed,so what was it.

He headed for the bridge, doing his best to maintain his balance when the ship started moving. " What is that canister?" He asked Garthunk.

Once in the cockpit, Bondo could see they were already clearing Mos Espa airspace.  Garthunk glanced back in annoyance, "What canister?"

An alarm buzzed and a red light flashed on the console.  Garthunk groaned and hit a switch to cancel the sound, but the light remained.

"Great.  The airlock won't close and the ramp isn't air tight.  We can't leave the atmosphere," he grumbled.  "Your friends really did a number on my ship."

"I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT A CANISTER!" Garthunk snapped angrily.  Bondo was getting a strong feeling that Garthunk really had no idea what he was talking about with regards to the canister.  Another alarm went off, different from the last one.

"What now?!  By the Whills ... There are four skyhopper gunships on our tail, and gaining ... Thanks to you!" he spat.  "I'm gonna try to lose them in the canyons.  Get back and man the gun just in case!"

Garthunk nosed the controls forward, diving into a series of canyons ahead of them.

Bondo felt the ship lurching a bit as it maneuvered through the canyon.  Once he got up to the turret, he could see the blue skies above with the occasional wink of red rock as the ship went under natural arches.

Four targets came up on his screen.  They were still out of range, but closing fast.

"They're closing and ... Locking on missiles!" Garthunk insisted.

Just as the first Skyhopper got in range, it fired.

Bondo watched the display of his targeting computer, as soon as the Sky hopper got within range, he depressed the firing control, which caused scarlet pulses of laser fire to stab out into the stygian blackness of space toward the enemy vessel.

Laser bolts flew through the dry air, splattering the canyon walls as Bondo tracked the nearest Skyhopper.  A bolt glanced across it's right wing, and it quickly veered away as the others continued to close.

The missile streaked at them, and Garthunk turned hard to bank sideways around a pillar.  The missile hit the pile of rock with a resounding explosion that still sent pebbles dancing over the hull.

The Skyhoppers seemed to be staying at Medium range, but weren't firing.  Another one moved in closer, and once it was at close range, it fired a missile as well.

"Dammit!" Garthunk complained.  "Take them out!  What are you waiting for?!"

When the one boogie advanced beyond the others, Bondo tracked it and painted the Sky Hopper in Laser blasts.

His volley of laser fire struck the skyhopper straight on, and it erupted in an orange fireball.  The missile it had fired streaked at them, and exploded against the hull.  The ship dipped and banked, and Bondo could tell it wasn't flying as well as before.

"Curses ... Another one like that and we won't make it back to camp!" Garthunk insisted.

Two skyhoppers left, and another moved into range and fired a missile.

The nose of the craft dipped suddenly and suddenly slowed.  The missile shot over them and hit the wall of the canyon.  Both skyhoppers were suddenly in point blank range.  They peeled off suddenly, trying to get back out of range.

"Haha!  We have them now!" Garthunk shouted.
