Up on Deck

Alameth had finished merging with the large beast just as it had brought up Morgan from below.

It was a new experience altogether. He didn't know quite how it had happened but he could see through its eyes, hear through its... whatever, and above all, feel the pain as if someone was cutting off his arm!

He could see them. The ones he had boarded the ship with. They were lining up to try their own against the best. Against him! A moment of realization hit him when he saw his beloved Alani trying as well.

In reply to GM (msg # 26):

AJ's revolver barks fire and lead; her aim true, and the bullet finishes the job of severing the kraken tentacle that held Morgan in its sucker filled grip...unfortunately Morgan was three feet in the air when it did this and plummets screaming to the deck. He manages to twist so that he lands on his back...but aside from a big grunt on impact he stops moving.

Nyxia zips in behind AJ, but then sees Morgan crash to the deck.  With a flutter of fiery motes, she makes her way out to help.

"Oof, you're heavy," she mutters, watching for any incoming tentacles or other form of harm.

OOC:  Nyxia is taking the Covering action.  If the kraken tries to attack Morgan, she'll attack it.

It was pure insanity to take the stairs up and see what was going on, but Gisela does so nonetheless.  Not out of curiosity or desire to fight as with some others, but to help.  Meaning, she arrives upstairs just in time to see the sea creature drop "Stop fighting us and tell us what you want!"  she demands of the kraken, but makes her way over to the fallen comrade, dropping to her knees beside him.  "Morgan, I need you to talk to me.  Are you okay?  Anything hurt?"  Hopefully, it's nothing, but if not, she was one of the few who knew how to help.

He didn't know what to do. He didn't know what happened even. One moment he was man, the next he was the kraken. He could only do the one thing any logical person would do. He dropped all of his tentacles where they were and screamed "Stop! Help! It's me, Alameth! Stop attacking me!"

To any that could understand him, there was a sound of sadness in his voice. To those that don't speak Kraken, it came out as little more than the screeching roar of the beast.

AJ puzzled by the monsters sudden cessation of hostilities and half deaf from the roaring moves to help Nyxia cover Gi and Morgan. If she was anywhere other than on the deck of a rolling ship she would look silly clad only in booty short Pj's, tank top and a tooled leather sword belt...but the pirate pulls it off on deck.

Morgan meanwhile stirs and wakes bolt upright...regrets the sudden motion instantly. He grasps the goose egg swelling up under his hair and moans, "OW...wooo somebody stop the merry go round...I want off."

"Be still a moment, Morgan," Gisela chastises.  She looks at the Krakken, which she now knows has ties to Alameth at this point.   she adds in a much quiter immitation of the krakkens roaring grumbles. Then back in regular common she continues to the other young people, "And everyone else stop attacking it for a moment.  You're just hurting and scaring Alameth.  Honestly, the krakken is looking for something right now, and it's just doing what comes naturally in the process."

OOC: GM Edit!  Gi's Talk with Animals is sorta like Parseltongue. She speaks back to them in the same way they speak to her.

A long series of screeches follow before the kraken silences once again.  The only movement from it being when he adjusts the tentacles keeping it afloat.

OOC: To those who speak kraken. "The child of Arthur. I must speak with the child of Arthur! I don't want to fight, I just want to talk."

Gisela frowns.  She replies in screeches of Krakken.

Switching from krakken to the more well spoken English, Gi looks at her friend.  She waits for AJ to turn around.  She shifts to block her hands from the krakken's sight.

It wants to speak to Chance.  Or Mordred, I'm not sure which.  I asked why.

Chance laughs but draws another card.   He spins it around in his hand twice before stating, "More talking! ... I'm gettin' edgy here, and unlike normal, very likely to do something rash given any more non-verbal communication..."   The man is apparently not very happy with there being such a sudden 'attack' followed by cessation of offense...

AJ edges backwards to put herself next to Chance as she signs back to Gi, Why would we have it! Tell it to spit out Alameth and maybe we can find the sword for it when we get to shore...

As he hands flick in the signs she mutters to chance, her voice somehow easily crossing the winds, "What are you going to do exactly... paper cut it to death? It's looking for excalibur...and it thinks the descendant of Arthur on the ship has it...so why don't we get you out of sight okay?"

Alameth emerges from the kraken's tentacle looking almost like a piece of the tentacles was falling off. He looks around a bit before staring at his staff. It starts waving back and forth a few feet in front of him before falling to the deck.

He starts signing, "The kraken should leave us alone now. It and I have an agreement and that includes not destroying the ship or us."

He kneels down, a loud thud as his large knee hits the deck. He reaches over and grabs his staff just before it's glow disappears. He looks confused a moment before shrugging.

At that, Chance is back to suspicious, "Got the wrong person, if it thinks anyone here has that... Gotta go talk to Junior and his false Justice to find that sword... Is that what this all is about?"   He considers the Kraken again before laughing, "Got something crossed there..."

It could very well be on this ship." she says with a shrug. While signing for Alameths benifit. She doesn't speak but only signs -Are you okay- to Alameth.

Chance takes the moment to walk closer to the Kraken, before saying in no uncertain terms to the squid, "Hey!  You're looking at the wrong 'Heir' of Arthur's if you think the Blade is here.   You need to go talk with Junior... or even Arthur himself.   Mordred wasn't even sent back dead to the island, and all of his possessions were lost t'wherever.   My brother and I don't got nothin' except a deep dislike for certain relatives."

At which point Lucky grabs him and pulls him back, "Don't mind him... but, we have no swords."
