Re: OOC

I can feel it.
The eldritch horror.
The fear that puts all fear secondary.
The primal fear.
FFXIV Slow Life is going to eat my corpse alive.

Re: OOC

Since I don't know Neva's status, and from what I know Hale is incredibly busy, I'm going to leave it ambiguously open for them to hop in whenever. Especially since it's the start of school season for some people.
I'm aiming to post on Saturdays myself to give people time to post in their cycles.

Re: OOC

Sounds good! Yeah, I was not sure how to handle Neva and Hale not posting for a while, so I'll just not worry about it for now.

Happy start of school for y'all still in it.

I have no mouth but I must scream.
I know what I want to say for my next post, but I don't know how to say it correctly and if I say it wrong I might screw something up...

Re: OOC

I know how you feel. Most games I can bang out a post in like 10 minutes or less. This game I need to think way more about all aspects of a post and then dig through PMs to see if I am missing something. I have a plan for my next post, but it needs to stew a bit longer before it comes out.

Whenever I think I get some free time, I get a new chaos. But, the end is truly in sight!!

I actually have 3 hours to myself... finally, so been updating all my games.

Isn't it just lovely coincidence when an exaggerated hypothetical happens to match real world circumstances.

Taverns are meant to swap stories and give adventurers quests to kill rats in the cellar... and this tavern is all out of rats.

Re: OOC

Have I ever mentioned how much I love and hate real accidental reveals in games like these?
Like in part it's really cool cause it adds this layer of authenticity. Like oh, the secret actually slipped.
But on the other hand it can't be planned lol

Re: OOC

I actually really like it. I can imagine it can be problematic for the planning phase but when someone figures something out about a character I'm playing and it's something their character can know as well I love it. Cause it more often then not catches me off guard when it's brought up and I need to take a minute to recover.

Re: OOC

Also two random complaints.
Complaint 1. Why is the thread cap 1000? (Note: new ooc threat coming soon too)
Complaint 2. Really wish I couod adjust how many former posts we could see when  posting.

And an inquiry.
As the game progresses, I notice some characters like to have conversations among themselves.
As this can sometimes impede progress or due to story progression may be hindered. Would you guys like an IC character thread for discussions between characters that may not fit within a designated time frame? Of course if it's a very private matter you can still do a PM, but I'm referring to in general.

Re: OOC

I know I'm new here ,but I've got no problem with it. Anything that can keep a PbP from stagnating is a good thing as far as I understand it.

Re: OOC

+1 to both complaints. It always seems like the post I am trying to reference is JUST beyond the limit of what rpol shows. Then I have to also check PMs... and other threads... I often have like 5 tabs when prepping a post.

I also wish RPOL had a way to indicate that I read a post and am not planning on posting in a round, or I am still actively posting, but I am fine with the story potentially interrupting a conversation. I like Eno's conversation with Eve, but paused on posting because I feel like we hit a good spot for the story to potentially interrupt, but if not we can keep chatting.

There have been some convos in the past I had to take to PMs just because they didn't quite fit in any of the IC threads -- so the extra thread is nice just in case.

Re: OOC

Yeah, I agree in terms of good stopping points or time constraints where a conversation may be interrupted.
Cause time is limited.

It's definitely more for... casual travel conversation. So conversations that may occur while going from point A to point B, which is generally handled fairly quickly. It's basically a chance for characters to get to know each other better. It could almost be considered like the skits.

Long day, post at some point after I wake up! Sorry, thinking of structure.

Also didn't know it was more of a suggestion then a hard limit. That's good to know. I wonder why it's there.

Re: OOC

In reply to GM (msg # 962):

I suspect it is something akin to when people are told to turn off cellphones on the plane as long as enough people follow the instruction everything is fine, but if too many disobey, problems start to occur. In the case of Rpol my guess is some kind of overflow error like the one that causes Guandi to become a full aggro when he gets a point of peace. Since it is already maxed out at the start of Civilization the overflow error makes him max out aggression or whatever it is called.

Could definitely be wrong though about how it effects Rpol.
