Thorfire and Therarak should be able to see chapter 12B. Mark, this is your chance for some real in-depth conversations between these two... I know that is something you are really looking forward to!

Celador and Lazaret should be able to see chapter 12A.

Are we running out of steam? Looks like we've all been checking in, but no updates...I updated the in-game thread just in case we were waiting for a DM update.

My two cents: I'm fine continuing with the adventure (and I have a few ideas for making it more exciting and therefore more engaging - we can discuss that in more detail if you are interested), but if we feel we've run this thing to the end of its fun, I'm fine with calling it an adventure, too.

My only request is that if call it, we don't let it "die on the vine" where we all post less and less frequently until, one by one, we all quit checking in altogether.

So feel free to chime in and we'll see what we think.

Sorry, it has been a busy month and my other games slowed down too so I haven't been posting much at all. I typically do them all together if I can.

I would definitely like to keep the adventure going if everyone else is in.

What is the status here?

No word from Laz or the diminutive duo in over a month. I think, unfortunately, this game has lost its legs.

I'll admit, I'd kind of like to tie up the loose ends and would be willing to fast forward to duking it out with the Master, but that may require NPCing 3 of the 4 heroes. Worth it? Not sure. I'm up for suggestions.

Otherwise we could just call it what it is: a complete, collaborative story (chapters 1-9) that we can be proud of followed by an ambitious sequel (chapter 10 - 12) that never quite got off the ground.

can we do this alone? Do you want to do it with just one PC?

I'd be willing to do whatever.

Could either do solo (NPCing Laz, Thorf, and Therarak until they logically split from Celador), or could give you the reigns to one of more of them or you could roll up a 2nd character to introduce into the story.

It's our game so we can do whatever we want!!!


Just an aside - I'm out of town until Tuesday, so you can ponder it over the weekend.

I'm not sure I want to take over the other three, do you have an interest in running one or all of them as NPC's? If there is a logical point to introduce a second character I could run a different character or maybe we could recruit other players? I could advertise at the west marches game I play or message a couple of the players I like to play with and let them know.

I am willing to NPC them until we reach a logical point for them to depart from the game (love, death, a ghost from their past, or some other priority). But I'd like to continue the current story rather than just teleport Celador to another place/time/set of co-adventurers.

Then yes, you can and should come up with a second character that can be added in down the road (maybe in Alaka, the next city on the map). Do you have anything in mind?


I propose this (all sections negotiable):
1. Run out the current adventure (Behind the Statue) with you playing Celador and me NPCing Thorfire, Therarak and Lazaret.
2. "Roll up" your next character and we can get him introduced.
3. Decide at that point (we'll have some idea how playing solo is working) whether we want/need to add other players.

I'm cool with that plan. I have a thought about a second character. Maybe a dwarf paladin. what level can I make him?

The more north you go, the more dwarves there are, so I think a dwarf would be a very appropriate choice for the Northlands.

I think of Stonehaven (right in the mountains) as primarily populated by dwarves, Cathid as 50/50 dwarf/human, and Alaka having a fair share of the stubborn little fellas, as well.

As for level, let's say 5th (6500 exp pts). That will put him a bit behind Celador, but if the game progresses, their leveling up will be staggered, so you don't have to level up two characters at exactly the same time!

Just because I wanted to post something, I added a fairly non-consequential argument between Thorfire and Therarak in game. The decision on which way to go is up to you.
