In reply to Forge (msg # 18):

Well congratulations then. I can only imagine the flood of mixed emotions though.

On another note, My AC seems to be working now. I got heat sickness, and today was the first day I felt good (not even very good) in over a week.

So what does the group think about switching to roll20? I just found out they have a mobile app with both a free and paid version. The free give you access to text chat, character sheets, dice roller, handouts, and rules compendium. The paid gives you access to the full roll20 virtual tabletop. If we make this move we would also be going back to a sit down session instead of our current method. I don't mind which version you use if we go to roll20 so please don't think I am trying to get you to buy something.

I'll have to think about it. Maybe. I do admit, I came here for the session-type experience.

I like this way as well, not rushing others to post but hoping that a post will be up within 48 hours.

Personally I like just a sit down session because I feel we actually get stuff done. Right now we can have a week or more with no posts and there are certain points that I can't move the story with out player input.

I have lost most of my focus for this format. If we move to R20 and do a weekly thing. I would be more than happy to continue.

My reply got eaten by power outage last night.

I would love to play a weekly sit down. That's WHY I joined this game. The reason I'm not posting much in game is my character has been largely superfluous. I have poorly prepared spells, and have all the wrong knowledge skills. When I try to be helpful, more often I'm a hindrance. My situational awareness is all off too. So I have nothing to add until I feel more grounded.

I can't do weekend sit downs though. I thought I could, but I can't consistently. Tuesday afternoons might work, but other than that, there's not a set day I have available week after week.

That said, if we had a floating day a week and planned week by week when to do it, I could probably make that happen.

Would we still use text to play? Or voice chat? I would love to play either way, but I have Tourettes Syndrome and so that would need to be a consideration for the sake of voice chat. Silence is not the same as not caring, it's just that I literally can't constructively talk at the moment. AS long as that's understood, I'm all for it.

no worries about the TS. I have family with it. So it would never bother me. But if you would prefer to type we can pause our chatter as you quickly type something out.

I have a moderate case. Most of my tics are not evident without visual cues. The push to speak nature also makes it easy to just mute out the disruptions. You may just get silence for a minute or two and be waiting for my response. Some tics will sneak in the audio, but mostly it'll just be delayed replies. I prefer to play with voice chat, as it's immediate interaction and confers emotion, accent, and agency of the character.

Minutes are much better than days or weeks though, I will admit. Especially when my character is less than useful in the current scenario scene.

Didn't you say your character is a summoner Rix? You should be just as good as anybody in this scenario.

Sadly, not as of the final update. I had planned on supplementing my enchantments with summons, but I had recently planned character like that and so (unfortunately) doubled down of the enchantments for favor of getting a PrC based on the school as well as feats. The final version isn't a conjurer.

I'm not banned from summoning, but I don't know those spells and would need to...
  1. get a scroll
  2. scribe it
  3. prepare it

None of which are conducive to the situation.

Right now, TBH, divinations would help more than summoning anyway. We've only had one combat. I do have a couple attack spells for the next conceivable battle, which depending on how the other PCs do I may or may not use.

Which is fine, I'm totally okay with that. I'll be able to prepare better the next in game day. Right now I'm just out of my element, and not the person for the job. Arcamion is better diplomat, and that's great. Forge and Dust were better against the skeletons. I'll have my chance to be useful. It won't stop me from posting, or playing in a session, but right now I'm a support character at best, and liability at worst. I'm sure we've all been in situations like that.

Luckily I'm not locked into my frame-work. I can totally change my spells in an in game day, but that might be awhile out of game. That's all.

It also doesn't help that my attempt to play a highly intelligent character had him make very fallacious conclusions. Lol. *shrug* I tried though.

I'm trying to make this section a little more roleplay heavy as the section that came before it that Forge and Dust went through had a lot of battles. I plan to try to keep combat, skill, and rp as balanced as I can based on the groups decisions.

Yeah, I totally get that. RP heavy is good. I'm just getting my feet wet and easing into it.
