Ash moved slowly forward, allowing Crow and Kray to find and finish the worms. They were tiny, but somehow scarier than the enormous spiders had been. As he moved, he took a moment to finally pull the spider webbing off of himself. Take 10 STR check - 17 succeeds.
Once he got to the intersection, he looked down at the pale, disfigured bodies of what probably used to be dwarves….maybe? Whatever they used to be, they were now something completely different, and the wriggling worms coving their bodies reinforced Ash’s desire to keep his distance from the worms and the zombie dwarves.
Ash, himself, had not faced undead opponents too often, but he had trained at the citadel with a group who specialized in them. They had talked at length about fighting the mindless beings, how they tended to move more slowly, but in a herky-jerky way, and the types of attacks that were more effective against most of them. Although it was clear the idea of “undead” covered a rather broad spectrum of beings. Nevertheless, Ash envisioned combat with these two, how he would attack, how he would defend, should they manage to get loose before Crow and Kray could put them down with arrows. I don’t know what coulda done that to those two, but let’s make sure we don’t end up at the same destination. For the tenth time today Ash cursed himself for not paying attention when they had handed out code names. Uhh, Bossy, Squawkers, you’re up. I’ll cover ya in case anything gets too close.
