Chapter 1: Awakening
John took a few breaths, and calmed himself down, the only thing currently bothering him was that he couldnt flatten his suit.... John started to leave his body (not spiritually, more of trained meditation)

Chapter 1: Awakening
Jake's head was pounding as he awoke. He felt groggy and disoriented, like he had been drugged, though he had no memory of such an event taking place. He moved his arms and legs, a little sore but still in tact, so that was good. The hoodie he was wearing over his long sleeve shirt covered any wording that might be on his arm.

Shaking the cobwebs from his head, the young man sat up, groaning slightly. His eyes fluttered about the room as he took a moment to examine his new surroundings. Eventually his gaze fell on some of the others in the room, who appeared to have awakened before him. "Ugh... where am I?" He said aloud. He hoped someone would have a good answer for him.

Chapter 1: Awakening
Mikey, now in a state of mind that left her assuming even the impossible as a feasible possibility, looked at the newly awoken comrade, "well we are in a maze, as far as we know there are NO exits and there is a crazy man running the show, you just missed another of us make a dull minded decision that ended in a Goliath dragging him out of the room" she motions twords the scraped radio. she continues, rather dully "if you roll up your sleeve you'll find a 'deadly' sin written on your arm... or maybe more than one like Doc over there" she points at Ethan. "would you mind introing your self and your 'sin'?"

Chapter 1: Awakening
Jake rubbed his forehead with one hand as Mikey filled him in. Her response gave him some answers, but many more questions; most of which he figured she probably couldn't answer. He shook his head and stood up, casting a large shadow on the ground with his sturdy frame. He was easily two heads taller than Mikey, though he seemed to much less spunk.

He listened to Mikey with fervor, apparently he had missed a bit but she caught him up to speed. It appeared one of the group had been taken already... what would become of him, Jake wondered.

"What?" The bit about having writing on his arm was confusing, but Jake did as he was told, only to reveal the word 'WRATH' on the inside of his right forearm... he pulled his sleeve back down quickly, grimacing at the word and the bizarre situation he now found himself in.

Once again following Mikey's instruction, Jake introduced himself. "Um... my name is Jake. I'm a student at Eastview University. I work at Bucky's Coffee... Uhhh..." It was clear Jake felt uncomfortable, and most likely was an introvert. "My arm says Wrath..." He looked expectantly at the others, and assumed they would introduce themselves as well.

Chapter 1: Awakening
"The name's Mikey Lewis, Im a jack of all trades mostly, as long as it puts food on the table. I have a datemate, whom im hoping hasnt gotten caught up in this mess and the word on my arm says pride." Mike paused looking at the boy, "welcome to the party Jake, I wonder how a guy as seemingly shy as you could get the word wrath.... peculiar...." Mike takes note and is rather annoyed that she is stuck with 2 people who could snap on a whim.

Chapter 1: Awakening
"Hello Jake my name is Ethan. Two sins are written on my arm - Lust and wrath. Just to confirm something. Is the assessment on your arm correct?" he said adressing Jake.

After that he turned his head in a way, so that it would be obvious that he was adressing the both of them."If you take into consideration the prison like surroundings, in combination with the religious part, it seems we are in some kind of punishment or trial. Another inmate, John Devons, just got dragged off. That happened just after he insulted the old man and gave a thourough display of his pride, resulting in him destroying the radio through wich they were communicating. I assume that they arent dragging him to anything pleasant.
I would highly recommend keeping an extra eye out for your sin and try and control it as if your life depends on it, because it certainly may"

Chapter 1: Awakening
"i second that move Doctor, also since we have had 2 doubles already how much you wanna bet the last guy sleeping is lust? though, i suppose sloth might be a better assessment... so anything else we should know about each other?"
Mikey is still sitting near the last sleeping man, she observes her fellow people. and still recovering from the chaos after Johns miss step, she has decided to watch as the others go about their business. Her guard is also even higher now. She has an idea , "how fast of a runner are the two of you?"

Chapter 1: Awakening
Jake wondered why anyone would be caught up in this mess, let alone someone's date. He gave a sympathetic look to Mikey, which broke somewhat quickly at the doctor's question.
quote:
'Is the assessment on your arm correct?'

Jake's face hardened at the questioning of his sin. He looked distant and more severe than before, his dark brows knitting and his eyes boring a hole into one windowless wall. He simply said to Ethan, "Yeah." And left it at that. He didn't appear to want to elaborate, and if one was looking closely they would've seen his hands clench for a few seconds at his sides before they flexed back out to normal.

The young man listed intently to Ethan, putting one hand under his chin in thought. This John fellow sounded like ever the hothead, but surely he didn't deserve this form of cruel and unusual punishment... maybe they would be able to help him out at some point.
quote:
"I would highly recommend keeping an extra eye out for your sin and try and control it as if your life depends on it, because it certainly may"

"I'll try. Thanks." Jake said it sincerely, as he thought the doctor was genuinely trying to help. "What kind of doctor are you Ethan?" He asked respectfully.

Ha, sloth might be right... Jake thought as Mikey observed the final sleeping party member. At the question of whether or not he was fast, Jake shrugged. "I'm pretty good." Though he said it humbly, Jake's built and youthful form gave away that he had more physical advantages than the average person. "Though uh, I don't see many places to run to..." he added. They were basically in a prison cell after all.

Chapter 1: Awakening
Mikey takes note of the fists clenching, then at the question about the running Mikey just smiles a rather cunning smile, "oh its just for an idea i have, now then," she turns to face Ethan, "old man, hows your running?"

Chapter 1: Awakening
"A little above average, worse than Id like to admit. Think I can run like 8-9 km under normal conditions so I guess if my life depends on id, I think about 15 km in one run"

He now adressed jake: "I am a doctor in clincal psychology, because I love to analyse the most potent factor known to man - humans. Thanks by the way for being honest about your sin. The other two had pride written on thier arm and what Ive observed so far thats spot on. So these sins written on our arms are really our sins. Its quiet astonishing, I wonder how they got this information... well guess you can only speculate about that now. But we do know that they must have found it out somehow. So there are probably some cues that connect us. I mean they cant just have chosen us randomly for this abnormal endeavour, because they know our sins, wich required atleast some kind of research. In that case we were purposefully chosen. I wonder by wich criteria..."

He noticed a weird feeling rising. Enjoyment? In this situation? Thier lives were clearly in danger and yet he seemed to enjoy this extreme sitaution and all the dangerously attractive unknown. Well he always found enjoyment in understanding the human psyche, especially of exceptional individuals, but to think that he would find enjoyment and excitement in a place like this?

He immediatly began analysing himself. This behaviour was close to that of a psychopath - complete obsession with an extreme enjoyment, wich overrides normal human emotion. To think that he would ever fit that category... well to be honest he kinda wished for being exceptional all along.

This thought although was immediatly explained away by another thought. Psychopaths arent different in thier psychic core structure from non psychopaths. They have just chosen a more extreme goal than most people. Everybody has goals they want to achieve, just the magnitude differs. If the goals are extreme enough, they can overwrite normal emotions such as fear, guilt and compassion.

He was in his element. Experience wich is psychologically rich.

Chapter 1: Awakening
well then i suppose you can be the bait in my plan then Ethan!" Mikey looked as if ready to burst with excitement at her plan, "so we KNOW where this door is that the Goliath took John through right? and we know that he was only taken AFTER an extreme instance of his sin. so basically Jake and I stand on either side of the door and you display a temper tantrum or something lust filled and then Jake and I run through the door when the Goliath comes to get you!" She looked almost fight full knowing there was SO much that could go wrong with this plan. Even just speaking it, what if there were other radios listening in, and the sicko HAD to have cameras in here.... oh dear.

Chapter 1: Awakening
"Oh, I see." Jake listened to the doctor's explanation, nodding at the parts which he concurred with. His dark lashes blinked, trying to absorb Ethan's words about the strange scenario that grouped them all together. So this was for punishment? Something about that made Jake's blood boil... "What right does this guy have to judge anyone?" He fumed aloud.

Jake looked at Mikey with trepidation as she gave her plan. It was definitely not a bad idea... but what if all it did was piss off whoever had put them here? He pursed his lips before speaking out loud. "I'm all for a plan, trust me. But what if... we just see what they want first? Maybe it's best to just play along until we know more..." Apparently their captor had given them a radio, so clearly they had some desire to communicate. Thought, Jake wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not.

The youthful male looked around at the corners of the room, the strings of his gray and orange hoodie swinging about. He glanced towards where he thought any cameras would've been hiding, before shouting, "Hey! What do you want from us?" If they didn't get a response, fine, they could go with Mikey's plan. Even if it was a little dangerous. Anything would be better than starving in this room... at least he hoped.

Chapter 1: Awakening
making sure to humble herself as to not make any wrong decisions, Mikey nodded at the newcomers suggestion. "i suppose my plan is a rather brash one..." She trailed off, looking in the direction of the concealed door, "its just im itching to get out of here and find out what the heck is going on... I feel like im going crazy, or this is all some effed up nightmare... UGH" She stands up shaking her head, "but im almost certain this is all real"

Chapter 1: Awakening
John had been being dragged for 4 minutes now, he had no idea how long this tunnel was...

Very sneakily, he had grabbed an ID out of the tough man's back pocket, and snuck it in his front one. He opted to read it once he was alone, to avoid being caught.

Chapter 1: Awakening
The door then slowly opened up by itself. On the other side was a twisted and dimly lit hallway.  It went on from what seemed like miles, though a noticeable sharp turn was at the end of the said hallway that they could see. This hallway also had tons of doors on each side of the hallway. Were one of them unlocked, they were not sure, but trying each of them would be a good idea.

Chapter 1: Awakening
Jake stood in place, paralyzed as the door opened itself. But he did his best to shake it off, swallowing a lump that had grown in his throat. "Yeah..." was his simple response to Mikey, who seems just as spooked as himself.

Taking a few steps towards the door, Jake tried to peer down the entire length of the corridor, straining his eyes. He wondered silently if the group would stick together, or be pulled apart by whatever was waiting for them. He tried to not think about that, gritting his teeth at less fortunate thoughts.

He tried to distract himself, focusing on his surroundings. "It's a big building. Maybe some sort of warehouse? Or maybe we're underground..." It was just conjecture, but maybe if they found some more clues, he could figure out where the heck he was, and how to get out of this so called 'maze'.

Jake took a tentative step out towards the hallway, staring at all the different doors before them. "So I guess the question is, which one do we try first?"

Chapter 1: Awakening
Ethan got up and walked through the door, examining the situation and his inmates. Would there be a risk in not opening the doors? He didnt know, but since inaction didnt get punished he didnt want to rush anything.

"Wait I dont think we should rush things. Lets work together here and go one door at a time. One of us has to open the door and the others have to be ready for any danger. I think its also best to hold onto eachother, so that we dont get seperated. Lets link our arms, hold on tight and then open one door at a time."

Chapter 1: Awakening
Jake looked hesitant to take the other two's arms, but in the end he did as he was told. He figured of all the people the doctor would tell them to do something team oriented like that.

He grabbed Mikey's free arm and walked on over to door number one, examining it warily. "Alrighty, here goes..." He took the handle and pushed it open at a normal speed...

Inside door number one was a coffin room. It had a weird stench that wafted out of the room and into their noses. Inside was tons of coffins stacked on each other, looking to be ready to be used.

Chapter 1: Awakening
"I really wonder how they got all this stuff... They have to be some sort of cultist with serious resources. God I feel like just crawling up somewhere and never coming out. We are deep in hostile territory.

I got an idea. Jacob, Mikey lets try to break these coffins into thier planks so we can use them as weapons. Given the absurd circumstances I dont think a lot of people get out here alive anyways, so our best bet might be to fight together. Come on lend me a hand"

Ethan is trying to lift a coffing high and then smash it against the floor.

ooc: what are the coffins made of? any metal bars?

Chapter 1: Awakening
Mikey tenses at the doctors suggestion, but knows its a reasonable one, not like she hasnt seen dead bodies before.

She steps up to a sack near the door and inspects the stack.

(oc: are all the coffins the same, are some wood others not?, any metal? how hard to push the stack over and break them?)
