Re: THE WITCHES' SABBATH [OOC}
All right, New Year and I hope we're all ready to get back on track. With Tamie deciding to step away from the game, I'm likely going to sum up the Daytime mission for Albina as she's currently the only PC in the scene. I'm also probably going to wrap up the Nighttime mission soon, too, as I think it's pretty much at completion anyway.

I'm thinking a time jump to the next morning and the next episode might be in order. Thoughts?

I'm fine with it! o_o/ Nothing much really to do in the night scene other than wait for the episode to end or something. = 3 =?

Re: THE WITCHES' SABBATH [OOC}
yeah Im okay with night ending... or I slump into a crash landing. But that could be avoided with the other witches around in various ways. So yeah maybe just do a nice ending :-P

Re: THE WITCHES' SABBATH [OOC}
I had a thought/suggestion.

In running my own action games I've found it hard to give enough time for lengthy RP by a few while keeping the overall action going.

One thing I would do is to "time bubble" a social RP. For example we could treat post mission base & sauna time as a time bubble. Then those wanting to able to do longer chat RP. The action of the next mission would be seen as after that time bubble.

While there can be some issues with who knows what or what happened the time bubble social time is limited to just talking RP. No combat action would take place.

Its just a thought and I'm not the GM so I'm wondering what he and fellow players think of this idea.

Seeing how I was over playing a game at the ad mins house I talked to  them and he was fine with my answer. Time bubbles are good as well, we can finish off stuff and I post as needed when it happens.

Re: THE WITCHES' SABBATH [OOC}
Sorry, everyone. I've transitioned from a Night Shift to a Day Shift at work this week and it's played havoc on everything. Couple that with the usual "jet lag" from the holidays and I've just been out of sorts since Christmas!

I AM nearly ready to resume the game, though, give me a couple days to tweak things and get things started for everyone!

Thanks again!

Something in my spine shifted out of place yesterday. Hurts like @#(@#*)$@(. Fell off a roof as a young adult and sometimes this happens.

I find using humor and silliness a form of natural pain killer a good alternate to foot stomping screaming.

Re: THE WITCHES' SABBATH [OOC}
Sorry to hear that, Rochelle. :( Hope you recover quickly.

OK, so the first of the year doldrums coupled with a change in my shift from nights to days (I now get off at the time I used to start), and, now with a two-day toothache, I've just been dragged through hell and back.

I DO intend to resume the game, I promise. I'm sorry for the delays. Give me a couple of days.

Re: THE WITCHES' SABBATH [OOC}
I'd like to repeat an earlier suggestion. If the GM could open an in character hangout/steam bath thread we girls could talk for like a month in real life while he gets his things together with his job change. Totally appreciate incomes coming before gaming.

*Author rolls around lazily*

*Alex is now running away from the swarm of kittens for obvious reasons*

I guess something like an OOC-bath area about the girls talking.. or something along those lines would be nice? Not that Alex would be much interact-able unless if you can manage to force her. o.o;

Not reading the message here, but for better or for worse, it's more like kittens are swarming Alex for being a 'mother'.. maybe. o.o; The other 'cat' is Anne-Marie so maybe that help..?

Re: THE WITCHES' SABBATH [OOC}
Real life growing up we had an old dog going blind. Got some cats, a male and female, so pregnancy happened. Mommy cat chose the dog's custom bed as her birthing place. I was a young kid then. I will never forget the look on the dog's face and the spew of kittens and birthing stuff on her bed. The dog actually came to get us to let us know what was happening. Like she was being their adopted grand mother.

Re: THE WITCHES' SABBATH [OOC}
To be honest, I don't know where my creative impulses went for this game. I know the departures that we suffered early on, and then, recently, with Tamie's departure, the wind has sort of left my sails. Not to say that the rest of you are amazing writers and players, but losing such a large part of such a small cast, twice, has impacted me more than I thought it would.

If you all are still willing to play, I can, as Rochelle suggested, open up a Steam Bath IC thread for everyone to gather and talk while I either find my direction for the game or, ultimately, perhaps come to the conclusion to close it.

What do you all think?

I'm open for the Steam Bath IC thread! o.ob

Though I kinda understand what you're feeling at the moment, it does kinda feel sad and depressing when things aren't going in a constant motion. .-.

Re: THE WITCHES' SABBATH [OOC}
WereRogue,

I truly sympathise with you. I ran a military Sci Fi game for Starship Troopers, now on hold with over 10,000 posts.

One hurdle I had was setting things up for an 8-10 person team yet every episode I had to work in 2-3 new people. I did have a core that lasted the years of the game. Along the way the turn over of short timers made me gaaaah at wanting to bring in another likely short timer. Of course the real shame was that shutting mine down was hurting the long timers who had been so loyal. One episode via play by text comes to 3-4 months. That's a school semester change over. That's a meeting a new partner. A change of weather to going outdoors again. I'm just saying I understand what you are going through.

One technique I offer is likely one you've heard from me before.

Ask each player for 3 scenes. 3 things they would like to their character to be in, faced with or have come about. Even with 4 players that is 12 ideas tossed your way. In the next episode you certainly can't fit them all in. So we are all still excited to see what comes into play.

This game is also based on an anime. When was the last time you sat back watched it? When I was running Starship Troopers for years on RPOL I assure I rewatched the movies and animes many times. Keeping myself in tune with the setting. Keeping myself mindful of new ideas.

A break isn't always a bad thing either. You had to put a lot of  your mind on a job change. That's important. That's okay. That's normal. Sometimes after a break it can be hard to get the ball rolling yet once it starts to roll it works out. With the 3 scenes idea or the bath thread we can start doing some activity which is like us helping to get the ball unstuck.

And who doesn't like seeing a ball rolling along chased by kittens?

In term I can give us a little love in the existing night time thread. Help gets the wheels turning. GM its meant as a help. Feel free to time jump to the new thread when you are ready for it.

Re: THE WITCHES' SABBATH [OOC}
Another idea that came to my mind is to allow us to NPC some of the base personnel. Im not insisting. Just that it can help us have folks to imagine the characters interacting with. Obviously we want most of the time to be with the PCs and the living players behind them. Just trying to turn over some thoughts.

Some that come to mind:

= Doctor (either sex though maybe 60/40 odds on a female since witches are all female)
= Air Traffic Control (any sex, or maybe a non-flying witch)
= Hanger Chief aka Deck Officer (maybe a male?)
= Middle rank in the base defense staff

I don't know much about the land witches that show up in the manga not the shows. Would some of been sent to Yankee? Or are they too important as they harnesses make them active. Could be connected to Yankee for resupply or repair
