Pretty good map of the region, correct for the time period. I'll be adding this to the links post, too.

Nurnen:
I rolled a nat 1 on my first roll of 6d100 for attributes, which then became a 29, then 12 then 21 before finally becoming a 72. my second highest attribute score. These are my final Attribute scores, 72,41,56,76,70,43. I will say this, Thank you GM for the discard any roll below 40 rule.

Well aren't you the lucky one. I rolled a high of 63! :)

Ulys:
I am waiting to hear from Ordruil about our tie in. I know I have never been to the Shire unless it happened after I met him. If, for some reason, I can't work out an appropriate tie with another player, then I am open to adjusting my race (if it helps oh great gm!!)

We've been having a bit of a rough week at home with chicken pox so have not had much time to work on my character. It should ease up this weekend.

In reply to Gamemaster (msg # 34):

The dwarf thing would be interesting.  Might change a couple of minor things about the character...plus we could change where Orduil and I met.  I will think about it some.

Re: OOC: Tales 'Round the Hearth
We have several players looking for connection to the others.. While I sometimes think that the "You meet in an Inn" is fun to play out, in this case, with characters that are already somewhat seasoned, I think it would be a fine thing to have everyone already together.

With that in mind, let's go ahead and assume that to be the case. Once you have your details worked out, please post in the thread I'm about to create about the general background (that you're willing to share), profession, and abilities so all will know.  We don't need to go into great detail about meetings, etc, but you can if you like.

Re: OOC: Tales 'Round the Hearth
And now we have:

Ranger
Warrior Monk
Scout
Mage
Animist

I have one more player trying to decide what he wants. Was going to be an acrobat, but changed his mind.

Re: OOC: Tales 'Round the Hearth
The warrior monk, is he a tank (ardenal defense)?

Ah, a ranger and an animist. That means we have people to deal with healing, traps and perception! I once had a character who slowly bled to death...

A mage is useful as well (especially once he has survived Levels 1+2).

Hanna, I haven't finished building him yet.  Will he be a tank of sorts...probably, not only due to adrenal defense and having a high Agility...but I also rolled a 99 for my special ability so I have a LOT of extra hit points.

I finished my sheet. Waiting to hear from you on my background, other than that I just have some finishing touches left to tie everything together.

Done, except for some background details, which I'll modify depending on who I know before this gets under way.

Re: OOC: Tales 'Round the Hearth
Not all characters have been completed.. at least as of my last request for information.

I intend to start this game on Monday morning, EST. If there are those that are not ready at that time, they will have a little time to finish up, or they might be left behind.

Anyone who is not ready, please, finish up and get something up in the part building thread so that your fellows will know a little something about you.

Just took a look through the character sheets, and while I have had very little communication from most players, it appears only one isn't finished or very close to finished.

Re: OOC: Tales 'Round the Hearth
I've been waiting to hear back from Ulys about our prior relationship. If we can't get it settled before we start I'm just going to assume we don't know each other from before.

That means, as far as I can tell, that we're all meeting for the first time at the inn?

See this post from above. Also see several references to a party building thread, including some that I've made through private message to various players.

I'd like to skip some of the "getting to know you" so we can get to some action.

Well, since you've posted in that thread, I wasn't directing that to you.. but I don't want to start the game with "You meet in an Inn."

I once played a Paladin in a Palladium Fantasy that woke up in a ditch next to another Paladin. As much to tick off the GM as anything else, we decided that the best course of action was to give each other awkward looks and wander away.

Took him a good three hours to bring us back together.. and in face to face, that's well nigh forever.

Re: OOC: Tales 'Round the Hearth
I am currently considering everyone but Liflin to be ready to go. If Liflin does not check in soon and tell me otherwise, I will either provide access to healing somehow or allow a certain other player to take over that role. Anyone who does not join in the game in the next several days, I will be forced to assume is no longer interested.

I'll be putting up an introductory post soon. The assumption of this game is that even if the party is not currently traveling together, they are known to each other. Perhaps not as great friends, but at least as adequate acquaintances. The game will begin at the Inn at the Last Bridge, to which all characters will have arrived, either together or by coincidence.
