Prologue: Louge Town Market
A variety of stalls and shops catering to all sorts of people and needs fill the area. Vendors hawk their wares and a few marines patrol the area looking out for pickpockets.

Prologue: Louge Town Market
Trace stands at a stall, a heavy bag slung over his shoulder.  picking up an item he looks it over critically before putting it back.  He probably should've traveled light but hadn't been able to resist bringing some of his favorite tools anyway.  The Marines were probably going to supply him what he needed but the details on this deployment had been scarce, and besides he had worked with these tools a long time and they were comfortable.  He had to admit that they made for a heavy load though and adjusts the bag, rolling his shoulders before moving on.

He moves through the stalls looking for trinkets.  He's looking for something his children might like, though he wasn't sure how long it would be before he got the chance to send them given the circumstances but he planned to buy them souvenirs anyway.

Prologue: Louge Town Market
As Trace walks through the market he notices several stall that are selling various trinkets and toys. One vendor in particular catches his eye as he yells out. "Come get the newest toys just in from the Grandline. See the amazing shape changing toys. Very limited quantity left! Get them while you can!"

Eska scans the stalls throughout the area searching for anything that she may use. Her hope is to find Sky Island relics, as the natives of those lands seem to incorporate dials into every day use. Considering their rarity, she might settle on some other contraptions or some materials that could come in handy if she doesn't see anything like that.

Prologue: Louge Town Market
Eska searches through the stalls and stores of the market with little success. There are plenty of people selling a variety of materials but there is significantly less than  might be expected for such a big and important town in the East Blue.  Near the end of the market a small girl walks up to Eska with a basket of seashells.

"Do you want to buy a shell miss? I found them myself just this morning."

"Oh?!"

Surprised, Eska takes a moment to turn and look at the girl. The basket does look like  nothing more than a fresh batch of shells from the beach. What a silly child.

"I would love to buy one,"
she giggles while sifting through the inventory. Why not? I can keep it as a souvenir if anything.

Trace stops and checks the vendor's wares, "Shape changing?  That's something interesting."  He looks them over wondering how well they worked.  He seems uncertain at first, toys weren't really what he had in mind.  His thoughts wander a bit though and he starts to warm to the idea, Then again a man with grown kids should start thinking about potential grandchildren.  Turning to the vendor he asks keeping his voice noncommittal "How much are you asking?"

The girl looks over Eska carefully before she digs in her basket. "Since your my first customer you can have this special one." She pulls her hand out revealing a a swirling shell. "It sounds like the ocean." She hold it out to Eska and presses a nub at the top and indeed the sound of waves comes out of the shell.

"Ah my good sir it a steal at a mere 10,000 Beli." The merchant says with a overly large smile on his face.

Seeing the tell-tale button had really brought up her hopes, but Eska feigns excitement, seeing what could have been an anything-else-dial is just a tone dial. A common one, but suits the purpose of a souvenir perfectly.

"No kidding! That's incredible," she says, taking the shell from the girl. The sounds of the market fade away with the shell pressed up to her ear.
*Click*
She presses the button and hears the sound of crashing water and sea breezes. She closes her eyes and pictures the scene before the recording ends. She opens her eyes and looks down at the girl.

"How much?"

The crowd in the market moves steadily around Eska and the girl. A marine goes by briefly surveying the scene before moving on in his patrol.

"Ummmmmm." The girl's face scrunch up in thought for a moment. "Twenty beli?" She finally asks her face hopeful.

"Deal!"

Eska drops the coins into the little girl's hand and deposits the dial into her bag. Foot traffic keeps moving through the market and Eska follows with the crowd. She's shuffled along with the moving herd until she sees the sign for the Skull and Seagull.

Trace continues to look the toys over, considering.  It was quite a price for a toy but it was a very nice one.  He couldn't really justify buying more than one though.  After a while though he decided to buy one, picking one out he tells the man "Really not a bad price all things considered, I'll take it."

He knew he should have haggled as the merchant was almost definitely overcharging him, but he had just realized he had lost track of time and was a bit later than he wanted to be getting to the meeting point.

The man takes the money and makes it disapear as if by magic before handing the toy to Trace. "I'm sure it will be the best present you've ever bought." He smiles obsequiously.  "Could I interest the good sir in anything else?"

Trace waves cheerfully to the man even as he turns to leave, Unfortunately my time is short, good sir.  Afraid I'll have to say goodbye here.

He moves quickly now through the stalls ignoring the calls and sights his hurrying toward his destination.
