OOC Discussion Thread

Upon a bit more thinking on the game, it occurred to me that maybe each of those categories should be covered in their own thread. That way, the discussions won't get confusing.

Those threads have become the House Rules threads, so discussions on them would just clutter them up and confuse people, so we're back to this thread for any discussions.

Yeah, I was wondering that, too. Maybe my 'new rules' (even though they haven't seen them yet) turned them off to the game. Some people are just die-hard traditionalists.

Well, it's only been 4 days. I can't bump it for another 3 days, I think. Plus, I haven't put up a Players Wanted post yet.

I wasn't going to do that until I have more of the details put onto the site.

I know what you mean. There are so many pics, and yet, finding the right one can be hard.

You can look over the Careers thread now. Figure out what Careers you want for Reggie.

Turns out I forgot that I hadn't converted all of the Careers yet. Plus, converting to the table here is a pain in the ass, so I probably won't list all of them, just the ones that someone wants to use.

You get 2 Career options, but he can take the same one twice (usually).

I think the Character Sheet is ready to go now. It appears a lot BIGGER because of the tables I used. Not sure if there a good thing or not. They may be hard to fill out.

Hi,

Looking forward to the game.

So is this a D6 based game ala West End's Games Star Wars?

As far as careers, it seems like there are no longer advanced careers that have requirements but offer superior benefits. I think those are great and would like to see them return.

Not sure how you figured it out, but, yeah, my friend used to play WEG's Star Wars, and with the new D6 rules being free, he jumped on that bandwagon again. It wasn't too far different from what we were already doing with Space: 1889 anyway, so we tweaked it a bit more.

Not sure what Advanced Careers are, but I'll ask my friend, who may or may not join the game and also become a co-GM.

I am talking about the Space 1889 rules, there are careers that can be only taken as second careers, and have high requirements, but offer cool benefits.

Yeah, those still exist. The prerequisites for them, though, are more role-playing, such as Master Criminal can only be taken as your second career.

In another similar game I'm running (mostly freeform in the same setting), I labeled them as Pre-Adventuring Career, and Adventuring Career. The former is supposed to represent what you were doing to earn a living before the Adventuring-bug bit you.

Do they offer greater rewards then starting careers?

Re: OOC Discussion Thread

Not really. If you look at the Careers thread, I put up 2 sample Careers--Adventuress and Master Criminal. ;)

As you can see, they are meant to be balanced. The only thing that might be a bonus is the Edges/Flaws.

Re: OOC Discussion Thread

I still have to do the Alternate Wounds thread, the Mystic Careers thread, the Skills thread, and the Edges/Flaws thread, as well as the RTJ post.

So, Reginald, figured out your Careers yet? You can take just one Career, and freestyle the rest. Clearly you wanted to be from a prestige Cavalry Regiment, so I'll work on that.

I guess my 'house rules' scared the others away.

Yes, he was from a Prestige Cavalry Regiment, but I am thinking of Adventurer as his second Career. is that acceptable?
