Re: OOC Thread

Ailishi has already took his weapon from the body of the bandit. Read again Velox. And please reread what you wrote. You implied we were all going to decide what to do there. None of us are NPC created to serve your whims. Also, Larmiun has readied the action. Call it a surprise attack. You can roll for initiative if you want. But if Albrecht has a Touch AC of 14 or less, he recives 8 fire damage.

Faerrash, receive my confimation that you can roll for initiative.

Someone has to stand for basic decency in the IC thread. And if it is going to be Larmiun, so be it.

Re: OOC Thread

Alright OOC Diplomacy check by moi! *rolls*

Velox - your OOC post comes off a bit presumptive. Milander is doing what he's going to do, but the phrasing makes it sound like you are saying, "Get with the program because while I'm all for checking out the hideout, fuck the runaway bandits, we're all going to down or else bitch!".

That's not what you intended, I'm sure, but it did sort of come off that way to me, and evidently to others.

Larmium - basic decency is not going to be Milander's thing here. :p However, I will point out that you just fired a ray without so much as an ultimatum or a countdown. IC standing for decency, I totally get. But that MIGHT be better served without actually launching the attack. Readied actions being what they are, you could take the high road and get the advantage on the Initiative, and still get your surprise attack, without actually forcing the situation to turn violent. Which you did, because you did act violently first.

Cause violence against NPC's doesn't count in this scenario. I mean, yeah, to your character IC it does, but taking a big stinky poo on an NPC's chest is different than taking a big stinky poo on a PC's chest, and you are putting a big stinky flaming poo on Albrecht's chest right now.

Seriously, we're in danger of breaking the game, and everyone who is thinking attacking our fellow player this soon after the DM's posted that we shouldn't owns a bit of that responsibility. Like, so far, Seralessa and I are the BEST BEHAVED out of the bunch of you, and I'm pretty sure she's going to try and kill me at some point. :p

Re: OOC Thread

Why don't we do this....

Is there some way that everyone might STOP what they are doing?

Each of you, what would convince you to completely stop trying to whip your dicks out and see whose is bigger?

Like, if Milander displayed some impressive magic, could that conceivably intimidate everyone into just stop dicking around about how veiny and throbby their dicks are, so that we can go back to following the hooks in the DM's story?

Or maybe if Elmo did some crazy shit... would that be enough to make all of you rethink your priorities?

Re: OOC Thread

In reply to Milander Vos Drago (msg # 431):

My OOC post could have been phrased better. That is true. I don’t mean to imply that everyone is returning to town, but there is a we that intends to go back to town for a bit if only to relay the news to Jaroo and Burne.

I only saw Ailishi push his blade in more. I haven’t read anywhere that he removed his blade. Had I seen that I wouldn’t have said anything regarding his intimidation going too far.

I am all for stopping where we are. Honestly, I don’t really feel like being involved in a PVP game and would request that if that is what the DM would like that we split this game up into separate groups permanently.

Right, here’s the post where I think the confusion is coming from:
quote:
Ailishi stands up, pulling the blade and opening it even more.

I read that as Ailishi pulling the blade along the man’s skin, opening the wound more, but I could see a different interpretation. Much like my “we” there is a lot left open to interpret here.

Re: OOC Thread

Excellent Vel. List updated, and yeah, I can see that interpretation. Because of the varying interpretations, that's why I'm suggesting we hash it out nicely in OOC with these fun categories... only 2 of which are likely to wind up with the DM rewarding us for playing into his story-line and not ruining the game he's been working hard on.

Milander Vos Drago:
So.... just to be clear.

We've got:

Going after Bandits (DM Option 1)
-Milander

Being labeled a Bandit by Elmo and possibly murdered by a high-level character named after a character on Sesame Street
Larmiun

About to get involved in a brawl and possibly labeled as bandits
Faerrash
Alishi
Albrecht

Getting ready to bury a body
Seralessa

Going to town to talk to Jaroo (DM Option 2)
Velox

I haven't missed anything, have I?

And I am happy to help go check on the bandit lair before we return to town with you Milander, I don’t want to go deep into the temple without letting Jaroo and others know about the dead Aspirant.

I would love to take Geoff and the other bandit that is alive back to town with me so they can face real justice, not this tortuous, trial by idiot but I asked nicely and re-explained and so far have been met with menace and a ray of fire :). I have no intention of excluding anyone from their fair share of bandit bounty either, I just think we are better off taking the ones that are alive back alive.

Yeah, I'm not exploring the temple... just need to get the scent of the bandits to catch their trail, see what treasure they've got (cause I be greedy) and then we can race after them as fast as my snakey snakey can double move. Once those fuckers are fucked in their fuckholes Milander will happily count the gold while we all travel back to the town/druid's circle.

I really DO think we should take the leader to the druid's circle directly though (IC). Although... if I'm being honest OOC... Milander was TOTALLY trying to get people just to kill him now. :p

Re: OOC Thread

Don't go falling in love with me V. I'm a married man, and my wife will only tolerate so many admirers. :p

Life's too short to beat around the bush. This is a game of pretend. If we can't be real and if we can't have fun in a game of pretend, what's the point?

These disagreements are going to happen, but I haven't even been able to pull out my awesome stunt yet, so if this game dies before that happens... well I'm just going to be very sad because there are so few gestalt games to be found where I get to play a crochety old man.

So far I have -

Crochety old man.
Crazy, tavern brawling, armored mage
Dr. Doom (literally)
Competent Faust whose party has made him borderline paranoid and apoplectic.
Kender "Wizard" (ok, just a Beguiler Unseen Seer build, but he THINKS he's a wizard and that's all that really matters).
Decepticon Mage (that game died, but the personality will live on forever)
Snarky Adventurer with a tragic past
Deposed Noble out for vengeance (alright, that's at least 2 of my characters)
Quiet forest-child concealing great power.
Dwarven Cleric - because if you're going to be mundane, why not go with a classic?

And two characters in 2 other games that I never got to build out so I don't really give a shit about them.

So, with all those personality types... I'd hate to lose the crotchety old man. Especially with the power of Gestalt... I mean I'm imagining there's going to be some pretty epic moments that deserve to be immortalized by an artist. :p

Hey, if it helps, I'm glad. Thanks appreciated.

I actually forgot that I did that before in this game @_@

Totally know you're on board for P - V. Just not PVP. I think we're all sort of annoyed, so if we can walk it back we can go back to having fun. Or, at the very least, everyone that wants to PVP can PVP while those that want to

Does that mean it's like this?

Milander Vos Drago:
So.... just to be clear.

We've got:

Going after Bandits (DM Option 1)
-Milander
-Velox?

Being labeled a Bandit by Elmo and possibly murdered by a high-level character named after a character on Sesame Street
Larmiun

About to get involved in a brawl and possibly labeled as bandits
Faerrash
Alishi
Albrecht

Getting ready to bury a body
Seralessa

Going to town to talk to Jaroo (DM Option 2)
-NPC Elmo (after he horrifically slaughters those he labels bandits)
-Velox after killing the runaway bandits and makes out with Old Man Milander?
-Milander after sloppy make-outs so that he can count all of the gold they've just acquired.
-Seralessa, after she finishes burying the naked lady.

I haven't missed anything, have I?

And seriously... if there's one thing I've learned from reading comics and watching fantasy films... the cuter, helpless, or child-like a character or name is... the more you should fear their power.

Elmo is right up there with words like "Apocalypse" and "Painful Death" as far as I'm concerned.

Re: OOC Thread

I just stopped laughing.

Milander, I don't know what is your thing. And really, it is your thing, not mine. But Larmiun's is decency and he didn't started this inter player violence. That was Albrecht. He even confesses that when he said.

Albrecht Delmorn:
So drawing your weapon and threatening someone aren't actions that will spark violence?

This is what it started it all.
Albrecht Delmorn:
"We cannot let this group fall to lawlessness. We are not an authority to make decisions like this, regardless of your past, or your temper," Albrecht responded, looking to Milander and Ailishi in turn as he spoke. "Remove your blade from his shoulder, or you will have mine in yours,"

That is a threat. Ailishi was just intimidating a bandit leader and he threaten him out of nowhere. I see an opposed roll made by the bandit leader against Ailishi's intimidation. What if the bandit now has a bonus on the next opposed roll because he knows we have a Bandit-lives-matter activist among us? Ah, right, at least two Bandit-lives-matter activists. I forgot about Velox.

Speaking of Velox, what is the difference between this Velox...

Velox:
I'm pretty sure that ray needs to be ret-conned so we can all roll initiative and such, or I can just slam Ailishi with my flail since his weapon is stuck in the bandit for this turn :).

And this one?

Velox:
I am all for stopping where we are. Honestly, I don’t really feel like being involved in a PVP game and would request that if that is what the DM would like that we split this game up into separate groups permanently.

The answer? This:
Ailishi Urcmon:
Ailishi stands up, pulling the blade and opening it even more.

Milander Vos Drago:
Alright OOC Diplomacy check by moi! *rolls*

OMG! Such a high OOC Diplomacy check!

Milander Vos Drago:
Why don't we do this....

Is there some way that everyone might STOP what they are doing?

Each of you, what would convince you to completely stop trying to whip your dicks out and see whose is bigger?

<Sarcasm>But of course! I don't have a dick and even I can see this is dick contest. And naturally the first option to end it is that you show us how big, long, thick, potent and throbbing yours is! Milander, you are a genius!</Sarcasm>

Milander Vos Drago:
only 2 of which are likely to wind up with the DM rewarding us for playing into his story-line and not ruining the game he's been working hard on.

<Sarcasm>Your OOC Diplomacy check is so fucking high! But of course you should be rewarded by the DM! Your first idea to intimidate everyone into submission using your character's magic is great!</Sarcasm>

Albrecht Delmorn:
Wow, a readied action to hit me with a firebolt if I speak? That's oddly specific, but okay I suppose... now to decide whether or not to murder Larmiun. Hmmm...

Why decide? Go to the Dice Roller and roll 1d2.

...

Now, seriously speaking. This is a matter of trust. Everyone can deal with IC trust. I mean OOC trust. If we are going to play together, we must trust each other as players.

Velox idea of dividing the group may be the best option if we can't find a common ground of trust. I don't think that can be possible at this point. Problem is that the DM must find a way to manage both groups and that means essentially two games. We can't force a DM to do that.

I don't know how powerful Elmo is. And IC, noone cares. Everyone is too busy in threaten people or getting ready to fight. He may choose a side. He may wipe out everyone. He may put one of those spells to force us to do something, like not killing each other. He may even sit and watch things unfold, deciding that it is best to know which are the best warriors, so they can kill his enemies later, in an honest to god mortal kombat recreation. For that, a map is needed along with everyone's initiative. That is for the DM to decide.

We can write a PM to the DM saying who we trust more to play with. DM can then count votes and decides which ones he keeps in his game.

I saw let's wait for the DM.

Elmo was swallowed by a Giant Frog and fought his way out with a knife.....he's far more proficient in that battleaxe....

Elmo is from the adventure actually......and considering the year it was written it is possible he's named after Elmo of sesame street who first appeared in 1972. E. Gary Gygax was famous for including pun names etc in his adventures.

I think Albrecht is absolutely right here.

DM:
There are two clear paths, one group can escort the bandits captured as well as the remains back to town, the others might chase after the other bandits.....

Velox:
No, I definitely meant you Ailishi. Your intimidation went too far, it's easy enough to back down now before this all comes to blows. I'm all for helping Milander go check out the bandits nest before we head back to town, but we're heading back to town and you should get on board with that.

After we've gone to town we can sort out who's doing what from there.

So you are forcing everyone to follow your whims, even when the DM stated another procedure. Wow.

Larmiun has an INT of 14 and a WIS of 18, he would know that what you are doing right now is not smart, nor wise.
