Editing the Message Announcing Edits

Usually, when a player edits a post, a message is generated saying "This message was last updated by the player at . . ."

However, I swear that I have seen some messages that contain different and more specific explanatory content.  For instance, the message might say "This message was edited to correct typos by _____ at . . ."

Two questions:

1.  Is my memory failing me?

2.  If this is a real thing, how does one alter the announcement?

Different edits to a post will generate a different message.  Such as fixing punctuation and such.

I don't know if anyone knows (or has spent time discovering) exactly what triggers one message or another.

But you're not mistaken and as far as I know you can't alter the edit message yourself, it's up to the system deciding on how what you did should be described.

Editing the Message Announcing Edits

Interesting.  I've never seen mine vary, and goodness knows that I've amended many posts in a myriad of ways.  But I confess I don't always scrutinize the message.

Thank you for confirming that I wasn't imagining things.  I would like my imagination to generate more interesting things than this, so it's gratifying to learn that my imagination is not so mundane.

Editing the Message Announcing Edits

The topic has been brought up before.  There is a limited number of different messages, as mentioned in this thread: link to a message in this forum

I don't believe there is one about correcting typos though.
