RedTeamPyro:
How I usually handle that stuff is subtle teasing and stuff. If it's IC/also IC, it makes it easier to screw around with them. Seriously, people who get obnoxiously dramatic or play Mary sues HATE it when you don't take them seriously.
I as both GM and player have found this to be true. The one that bothers me the most is the one that has some kind of Charisma related power, and they write about how all the NPCs are like BAMF into them or whatever, and I pointedly write how my character doesn't pay them any attention. I specifically get the game's equivalent of Indomitable, Unfazeable, or whatever, because I don't like being told how your character has an ability to make my character react however you want.
I've actually had players who write ueber social characters come to me (as another player) and I'm like "Yeah, I'm immune, so if you wanna impress my character your writing has to impress
me personally. Which isn't all that hard, just stop saying 'I'm doing this in a charismatic way, or saying this charismatic thing' and do something charismatic, or steal a movie line or something."
