Re: OOC

For my part the recent acquisition of two additional minions should free up my time more than hindering it, but in either case it will be a small fluctuation that a game this slow should not even notice.

Man in Black:
(Anyone else doing anything?  )

I was waiting for Ariel to get back to me on my comment. If we are just skipping past that, then Kahlvyn is still outside the altar site. I don't believe he can see the fight between the Juicer and Darvin.

Re: OOC

I apologize if there was any OOC confusion that stopped you from posting, but if you are waiting for Ariel to reply to your last IC post she didn't hear it as she quite literally shut a soundproof door before that comment happened.

Re: OOC

Sorry guys.  It's been one of those weeks.  I should have the time tomorrow to catch up with everything.  I have the new guy here with me so posting is pretty much out at work.

Yeah, but I'd much prefer being a lottery winner to security guard.  Ah well, blessed to have a steady job with a little free time.

Re: OOC

It's more clerical than security.  Most of my time is spent taking care of trucks coming and going.  It's a paycheck.

I've had some bumps in the road lately that have been more than distracting.  I'll be out of town until Tuesday when I hope to get back to normal.

Re: OOC

I find that there are a lot of security guards, or similar sorts of jobs, represented by gamers, particularly online.  Something to do with the 5 empty hours out of each 8 hour shift I expect.  Most of the time those hours can even be spent online playing the games but at least doing various types of prep work or reading.

True. Even I'm in the line of work, although my posts tend to be fairly live and I have to find my moments.

Re: OOC

I have been.  Through the military, worked for a security company for a bit, assistant manager in retail, animal control, now as acustodian at a high school.  All these jobs have security aspects, particularly having to check doors and such.

I'm back from vacation.  It was a nice one.  I've been catching up on things around the house that have been ignored while we were gone.  I hope to have everything caught up in the next day or two.

Thanks.  Still trying to get used to this wacky schedule: a day, a swing, and two graves.

Re: OOC

Well, there are two other actives in their own thread.  I don't know why nobody else in your group isn't responding.  I've given out a lot of information, I think.  It's something to follow up on and investigate further.  The lack of posting makes me feel self-concious so I've been avoiding it.  I'm not going to beg anyone to post.  If what I'm doing isn't good enough for them, well sorry.  So if you're happy, keep posting.  I'll round up new players.  I apologize for letting this sit for so long.  I can't post to the other thread right now, but maybe tonight.  It depends on whether I feel up to going to a party tonight.

Re: OOC

In reply to Man in Black (msg # 591):

Of the six people who have looked at this game in the past 30 days, four of them have posted within that time frame, and three have posted within the last two weeks. It's been twelve days since your own last in-game post, as far as I can tell.

I'm not rolling with a fresh group. That is not going to fix whatever is happening. There is a fundamental problem with this game, and while I will not confess to know the cause, the symptoms are obvious. If I had to take a stab, though, I would say it is a refusal to bend the already janky Palladium system to the nature of PbP, when it is already slow on the tabletop - in PbP, it is downright glacial.

I owe it mostly to Rodrigo, who I can tell is pretty passionate about this sort of thing, but if this game survives any longer it is only as a zombie, a self-propelled corpse moving on its own inertia. Seriously, I did not need to know that you are choosing between this game and a party - I am no longer convinced this game has any heart to it, nor one that can be revived, and I'm getting out now.

I have four games I have tried and killed. Two of them were failed revival attempts, one died before I finished building it, and one died due to poor preparation and planning on my part. I am running one, and building another, and that other will only start if I am convinced I can actually run two games at once. I have learned my limits the hard way, and have likely disappointed a lot of players in the process, but when I do not feel I can run a game effectively I kill it myself.

I'm sensitive to when a game is going to die, or is already dead and just doesn't know it. I feel this game is there. So, I'm done.

Later on, all.

Considering I posted last in my thread, I was waiting on a response.  I wasn't going to do back-to-back posts.
This sucks.  I was hoping to take on Nxla.....

Re: OOC

I tend to have difficulty with 1 on 1 RP even in the best of circumstances, I am more accustom to larger games than smaller ones, so while I tend to not be one of the first to go once a game drops below some activity threshold it becomes very difficult for me to participate meaningfully.

RPOL has a very consistently fast turnover rate of players, constantly recruiting new ones is often required to keep a game active.
