Re: Phlan and the Moonsea

In reply to Ando Corleon (msg # 882):

The roll was too low,(You killed the orc) but this orc does have a leather pouch on him that looks like it could carry some interesting things.

Re: Phlan and the Moonsea

Squeezing the orc's neck Ando realizes there is no pulse. "Oh..."

Ando had no individual quarrel against the orcs. Being a drow he didn't see things as black and white, and had resolved since his days as an Unthalass soldier to never kill again unless it was unavoidable. This could have been avoided.

"Rest in Grummsh's peace. Or war. Whatever suits your soul." He muttered.

Ando searches the orc for any loot and clues.

Re: Phlan and the Moonsea

In reply to Ando Corleon (msg # 884):

Going through the pouch you find that it hold 20 silver pieces. Each minted in the style of nearby Hillsfar. You also find a small flat smoothed piece of granite on a leather thong around the orcs neck.

Guthrir finds a pinky nail sized gem. A rough cut affair that had been cut and an attempt to smooth it done but still it has a few rough edges. You also find 7 copper pieces on the orc again minted from Hillsfar.

Re: Phlan and the Moonsea

Ando puts the silver in his completely empty coin purse. It feels heavier than it really is, as he accepts the attachment to the world that money brings. Still, he is a long way from the monastery, and you can't buy provisions with smiles.

He puts the granite necklace on. He hasn't worn jewelry since leaving the Unther army.

"All right, one orc down at least. I suppose we continue on."

"Any weapons on orc? I could use a throwing dagger.

Guthrir's eyes darken as he studies the imprint on the coins.
"Ah wonder what poor soul they took this coin from. Ah canna see th'orcs gettin' sooch by fair trade."
He looks over to the drow.
"Ye did good, laddie, killin' im. 'Tweren't no shame innit."

In reply to Guthrir (msg # 888):

I would say yes. You do find some weapons on the ork

You find
A roughly fashioned scimitar with more then a few nicks and bumps on its edge
A pouch of tabacco
A battered shield (medium)
A hand crossbow with ten bolts

Re: Phlan and the Moonsea

Ando takes a pinch of the tobacco and puts it under his lip and grins, offering the pouch to Guthrir and Gannor. "Here's a nice pick me up. Don't try smokin' it, the smell will give us away in the dark before the sight of it does."

He takes the crossbow and bolts, arranging them in his mostly empty backpack so he can carry them without making noise.

He waves his hand at the sword and shield and then once the others are ready he opens the door.

I have no clue where we are trying to go, so just move me along DM!

In reply to Ando Corleon (msg # 890):

Really you could move to the passage to the south , or the ones leading to the east and southest, by way of the map.

Gannor shakes his head at the offered treasure, saying something about crude weapons from unclean man-beasts, his eyes darting at the unexplored areas that are visible.

He ignores the other finds and peers down the corridor in both directions.
"Erm. That way?" he suggests, pointing down the east passage.

In reply to Ando Corleon (msg # 893):

After about 60 feet heading east the party comes to a wall. The passage turns to the left,(North) and to the right,(South). To the north there is the sound of water dripping on flagstone and small slimy wet things splashing around. To the south there is the soft sound of air being forced through narrow openings,(barely there), otherwise it is as dark and as quiet as a tomb to the south.

Re: Phlan and the Moonsea

In reply to Ando Corleon (msg # 895):

You move several feet north until the passage make a sharp right hand turn. The party follows until you all come to a + in the tunnels. To the north there is a door ajar leading to a large antechamber. Itself leading to the river that runs underground, where the party first entered the goblin hideout. Gannor eyes this from the party's location, wondering where the insane Slaad they encountered there has gone. To the south of the is a iron banded door, its swollen and waterlogged slime covered wood occasionally creaking.
To the east further down is a fork where the passage splits in two. There the walls are drier looking and have an air of being well traveled.

Re: Phlan and the Moonsea

"We've been running around in circles..." Ando mutters, remembering the slaad before he slipped in the river and washed downstream. It felt like so long ago...

"Finally, perhaps this is where they went..." He heads toward the east fork, the well traveled area. As he passes the swollen door he shakes his head at it. "Don't get curious. We're here for a rescue, not exploration."

He continues to the east fork and takes the north route.

Guthrir frowns as he pauses at the peculiar door and listens, but after a moment he shakes his head and follows after the sneaky bloke.
"Just like old Widow Havershaw's mushroom garden back home," he mutters to himself.
With that, he moves a little faster.

When you walk almost to the fork you feel a bit of a draft coming from a seemingly solid if decrepit and worn bit of wall from the south. And did you hear the sounds of breathing?

Ando motions to the secret door. He searches for a way to open it that doesn't involve breaking it down.

If he doesn't see anything he tells Gannor, "Hit it. I think it will give way." No longer concerned with stealth.
