intro

It is early night and you have been traveling far, but your destination is now withing sight. On the outskirts of the city you see the warm glow flickering through the windows and the smell of smoked meat and venison stew, from the smoke stack of the green dragon inn. As you approach you see a begger asking for alms at the foot of the stairs.

In reply to Charles Hernandez (msg # 1):

Guthrir hurries ahead to check on the beggar, to see if he's well and fed. He can spare coin, of course, and his blanket from his pack: a clean, well-mended winter blanket, if it's needed.
And he's also got his Curing magic if that's what's needed.

In reply to Guthrir (msg # 2):

The old beggar thanks Guthrir. Accepting his coin, healing, and gifts. After the healing magic has taken its effect the beggar stands upright. You notice he is an old human male. His long white beard stretches down to his knees and the top of his head is bare and bald as flag stone. " I am Kristoph." he says. Making an attempt at a high court bow. "I thank you stranger for your kindness. The winter is at an end ,but the chill remains. You have the look of a wanderer and a freelancer to boot. Many like you have come here seeking fame, riches, and adventure. You seek such things as well?" He pauses a moment. Then speaks " But let us leave this cold. The green dragon inn has a warm fire, food and drink. I myself seek such. A bath and room also thanks to your kindness." He urges you inside. " Please stranger your name. It would be improper to simply acknowledge you in the general and not the basics of the familiar. Take no offense at my question, I did the same with the other. He said his name was Gannor. He is a human but one I am unfamilar with."

In reply to Charles Hernandez (msg # 3):

"A' course I took no offense, brother," the dwarf exclaims with a dismissive wave. He talks as he follows the beggar to the inn. "Ah'm Guthrir, an umble servant a' me lady the Earthmother, bless 'er."
As he makes the last statement, he absently raises a golden rose from a fine chain around his neck to his lips and kisses it.
"And ah don't believe I caught yer name, good sir?"

In reply to Guthrir (msg # 4):

"I am Kristoph. I used to be a prospector and scout in these parts. Till the mine ran dry and Phlan fell to ruins. I was hoping with the new interest of the old city I could resume some measure of my old life. But I fell on hard times. Ah here we are."

Kristoph moves among the patrons of the green dragon inn . Around tables and chairs not once giving mind to the queer looks and looks of disgust he gets from several of the patrons. He moves beyond a trio of dragonborn mercenaries at a far table a stops in front of a table with a curious single owner. seated across from you is a human male unlike one you have seen in these parts. His complexion is dark too dark to be a native of the moonsea and the soft doeskin leathers he wears are cut a decorated in a peculiar manner. He is smoking on a thin long straight  pipe  the smell of sweet honey and fresh cut grass coming from its smoke. " May I present Gannor. An adopted name to be sure . As he says his real name Hawk Talon Cutter or some such. Also of recent entry to Phlan by way of crossing the Dalelands and through Hillsfar. He is a warrior of sorts." says Kristoph. "Although he is unlike any warrior or fighting man in attire or mannerism I have ever seen." he adds in a soft voice to Guthrir.

In reply to Guthrir (msg # 6):

Gannor looks at Guthrir and offers a pouch of the same sweetened tabacco. He puts his pipe down for a minute and speaks. " I am searching for adventure and a purpose in my life. I was brought here from my home , many, many moons journey across what you call the trackless sea to the west. As I am a man without a home or kinsmen I seek what and some of the things this land offers and to someday return home."
Kristoph chimes in, "We, he and I are a bit low on cash. I hope to make mine be helping newcomers settle in when they enter Phlan. Maybe even begin being a scribe. Adventure is not for me. Too many sharp claws and pointy things. Speaking of which Gannor here has recently purchased a small flop,....eerr "weathered home" in the not too outish outskirts of the city. Its patrolled,....some. And it is not too close to the ruins and monster filled areas of the city."

Gannor simply grunts an affirmation and pops a small cube of cheese in his mouth offering Guthrir some after. "It is a good place," he says. "A place way where a small bit of nature still holds sway." Kristoph nods, " It has a small living area and 4 small seperate rooms for people. It even has an open sky center garden with a single oak shooting to the sky. At least I think its a garden. A few small skull sized stones around it have Glyphs devoted to your own Goddess Guthrir. If my memory serves. Gannor and I were headed that way this very night,........after I begged a bit," he adds sheepishly
