Optional Skill system [Dragon #110 - Maxstadt - for GW 2nd Ed? [1986].: example skills include
Skill - Fishing
Skill - Foraging
Vocation - "Ship Captain" [would include Sailor; not a defined skill]

[normally characters roll = d4 for skills, plus Int modifiers [0 for 10], -1 for mutant humans; max of '3' - result more or less fits the Central Casting results for primary (rank 3+) skills. Treat 'rank 1' skills as near enough to untrained/default - can still use CC system, probably. Fishing skill can use Dragon #110 rules.
[scavenging was automatic based on cultural background, but background was also random (for first character anyway]; equivalent to rolls of
4 or less (unmodified d6)(Skill), plus:
-5 on d10-Fishing
-6 on d10-Foraging
-9 on d10-Vocation

Secrets of the Ancients Skill system: would better accomodate "Central Casting" skills, see Gamma World 4E folder. No extra cost for fully new skills, other classes bought at 2/1 as stated

original skills assigned- Jury Rig 8, Repair Artifact 8, Avoid Artifact Disaster 0, Read Schematics 0; adjusted for new skill system.

Wilderness Survival* - scout specific - replaces an Examiner skill due to weird background; Rank 4 = 8 points. [use x2 conversion]

Unearthed Arcana
When this magical chapeau is worn, the wearer
is able to assume the role of a character of any
class other than that he or she actually practices.
This magical headgear only empowers assumption
of 1st level, but as long as it is worn, the
possessor is able to act as a member of the
named class. Any experience gained is in the
assumed role only, but it is cumulative, so if in
several wearings the individual actually goes to
2nd level, then he or she retains that level whenever
the hat is worn and the new class is assumed.
Such progress may continue indefinitely, but if

Statistics: equivalent to light crossbow but fires a multibladed knife (similar to african throwing knife, hole in middle) vertically. Like African throwing knife deals [d4+1] damage, with a +1 to hit. Main benefit (for D&D characters) would be that it uses 'crossbow' proficiency.
Say spent 100 GP on materials.-- roll of 19 trying to sell it (fail to get offer with profit).

Dex 8 - gains a +1 for magic hand: =9 Dex total

Int 15    - 12 base +2 dual brain +1 monolith  = +2

Perception: now add  1

Body Modifications:
Fists: RH deals d4 damage [metal]; LH d8, diamond).
Metal Skin [BSP-17]- takes 12 hits.  Assume probably looks 'bronzed';  no CHA modification).
Base body weight quadrupled [+600 lbs to wgt carried]; reduced to +0 [+1oz] with armour enchantment (Palladium Fantasy, cost 15,000 GP).; skin inscribed/inlaid with runes that sustain the enchantment.
Remaining Carapace (dying/flaking off due to metal skin) removed by Xixchil.
