If you chose to roll, roll 4d6 drop the lowest and re-roll all ones.

If you chose to cheat there may be backlash

Most people start rolling out on the table.

Marv mostly rolls behind a shielding arm.

Ok I did several of the roll 4D6 drop the lowest die and reroll all 1's method. It seems to work pretty darn well.

OOC :  rerolling ones makes a difference,  certainly.   Though I still manage to get low stats.   But we'll try it

Wisdom then Intelligence should be the high stats for you.

As a high elve you add 2 to Dexterity and 1 to intelligence.

+1 Skill and +1 Language

High Elves get
+2 Dex
+1 Int

A Wizard Cantrip
Darkvision 60'
Elven Weapons Training

Greg pondered.
"i guess elf would work.  The human bonus is pretty cool. I'll admit,  but I'll try out elf.
I've got a favorite character that I've never been able to try out, Aliana Farwalker,  an elgen librarian turned priestess raised by humans in the Oghma library,  and now wants to see the world that she's only read about in books."

Darwyn looked up from her books and paper and smiled at Greg. "That sounds really interesting."

She went back to her notebooks, tapping her pencil on the paper as she thought about her character.

Bill nods "Its different then the bookish Wizard. I like it."

He walks around helping people and checking stats.

He explains stat rolling methods and how he is helping out with a more heroic stat generation.

When he gets to Marv though he says four 18's ?

Marv says,"I got good rolls two more rolls to go."

Bill doesnt move and folds his arms standing there.

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 59):

Greg smiled at the others, happy to hear that he wasn't being judged for playing a non traditional character.
Hearing of Marv's "luck", he frowned but didn't say anything. He remembereda group he'd gamed within college,  and how one woman in the dnd group would roll natural 20s and get critical hits on enemiesalmost every other round.  Greg had been the DM,  and couldn't help but notice the woman was on the other side of the table,  and seemed to have her hand or a book in the way when she rolled the dice.
Greg had said that the new rule was that "everyone" had to roll where he could see the dice, and he specifically moved the suspicious  woman to sit beside him.
Coincidentally,  she never rolled another 20 for the rest of the day.

Marv reached for his dice bag and had the audacity to say he didnt add his ratial bonuses yet.

Bill said,"Lets see if your luck holds."
He watched and didnt look pleased.

Darwyn took out her dice and began rolling her stats in front of the others, writing each number down on a piece of notebook paper. She smiled happy with the results and began placing them in the proper place.

Marv took out dice and nodded to Bill.

"Don't believe it, Im just lucky."

He rolled some metal dice. They clanged heavy on the table and rolled kind of odd. Wobbly.

The first came up 6

Marv grinned.

There was an odd sound like a bell in the distance.

Darwyn glanced up hearing the bell. She glanced around "Is there a microwave around here? I swear I heard a bell or something."  She shrugged and went back to her character.

The second die wobbled, wobbled was going to be 2 slowed down and CLUNK came up 6.

Marv looked Smug.

Again people heard a bell more of a church bell.

Greg sighed.  Against his better judgement,  and trying to not get too nervous,  he spoke up
"Come on, Marv. don't use loaded dice.  Or at least let the rest of us use them, too?"
He spoke with a smile, clearly jokingly about the second sentence,  but his sigh of exasperation clearly indicated he was very serious about the first sentence.

Then the last die came up 6.

The bell sounded much louder.
