Re: OOC 3

It might not be required if we take down the rest of her team, although if she keeps giving trouble after that, I will shoot at her with one of my shotgun eyes, because I have those apparently.

Shotgun eyes, in this case, meaning "ion blast," because it generally comes out in a tight spread of energy like a shotgun.

I'm hoping I do not have to. I can't really pull that. It will hurt.

In reply to Winter Herald (msg # 50):

Particle accelerators, like Ion Guns, might actually work on an intangible foe as they are not lasers but are a stream of highly charged particles... might be why in Beyond the supernatural.. the 'Ghostbusters' weapon of choice is the particle rifle. 'shrug'

Re: OOC 3

Runa, something you can do is to help Bellissima.  Either by helping punch out Provider/Vitaly or getting Moppet who is trying to punch Bellissima.

Once Provider/Vitaly is down, she can try her telekinesis against Whisper.  That might work.

Hmm.. Bellissima doesn't know this yet, but it sounds like Holly might be possessed by something.   Bellissima could try to exorcise Holly, but that is a non-combat power and she would need to meditation for 2 hours first.

Re: OOC 3

If you are wondering why Winter Herald is holding back, it is because they are thieves primarily. Any other crimes they commit is incidental to the theft. Kidnapping - assuming that remains the case - is an exceptional MO and Phage's words confirmed my theory that they weren't all on board with it.

Hitting thieves with punches that crack with the force of a bear-killing rifle seems excessive. I might have hit Moppet too hard. If these were FORCE's troops or more conventionally murderous in inclination, Herald would use proper force to dispatch them.

Re: OOC 3

GM, does your last post mean I need to redo Runa's action? Or did it get lost in all the posts? Or does it mean she lwt Runa hit with the power touch punch but it did nothing?

Re: OOC 3

Rules question: Is it possible to hold an attack?  I want to have Bellissima give Provider a chance to surrender, without giving up her attack and hopefully be able to respond immediately if he does something that isn't surrendering.

Example;

Bellissima wraps Vitaly in her TK grip, ready to toss him against the ceiling if he takes the slightest attempt to do anything besides surrender. "Are you surrendering? (rolls are already done)

Vitaly tries to control someone, Bellissima tosses him immediately into the ceiling.

Re: OOC 3

Yes, you can do that. How would you know if he tries to control someone, assuming he actually does that kind of thing? You'll find the question is moot, but I still thought I'd ask.

In reply to SSOGM (msg # 58):

Heh, usually she would activate Detect Psionics or See Auras for that, but she doesn't have the ISP for it right now, especially since she just spent 2 ISP because her sixth sense activated.  Currently, she will be watching for unusual behavior from her teammates and watching for him to try to touch someone or make eye contact with someone.

OK, so Runa can't do anything against Whisperer, check! It had to be tried though. Runa isn't a genius but she isn't an idiot either so she will be switching targets. Hopefully she has better luck.

I don't see any saving throws that Justicar was throwing. Were they secret? Because I'm curious if I need to return and repeatedly punch Trishula for being too stupid to surrender when they really, really should have.

No, there weren't saves. But I did have to make a few modifications to the originally suggested effects so JUSTICAR's player needs to re-read the last few posts, mea culpa.

Re: OOC 3

No. It would require some other enhanced sense to see through it.

Heroes Unlimited Revised Second Edition, page 321:
Cloud Of Smoke
Range: 90 feet (27.4 m).
Duration: Four melee rounds per level of experience.
Saving Throw: None
P.P.E: Two
This magic enables the arcanist to create a cloud of dense, black smoke (30x30x30 foot maximum size) up to ninety feet (27.4 m) away. Victims caught in the cloud will be unable to see anything beyond it, and their vision is impaired ; they can see no more than three feet (0.9 m) in front of them (and those images are only a blurry shape unless within one foot/O.3 m). While in the cloud, victims will be -5 to strike, parry, and dodge.

Ah... ok..re-read. Whew! Not as bad as I'd feared cause spells are stupid... they target what the caster cast the spell at... and this spell is fortunately not an AoE effect.

So Justicar is... mostly out of the fight... but not as such in danger ... as much.

I will adjust my post.

Fixed.  Hope that is acceptable?

Hikari has a personal carry capacity of 380lbs, and can dead lift 760lbs... his suit is 680lbs... which would be heavier if three of its drones were still attached!  Right now if he can get the last one to detach that's another 52lbs he can drop... but it would STILL be a heroic effort to stand and walk in the suit.  The Justicar suit is currently in it heavy armor configuration... not its light armor configuration which he CAN walk around in if encumbered quite a bit.

He might be able to do something but with all his systems down for movement control... it will be extremely limited.  Though SSOGM did say it was only movement... maybe once he's clear of the cloud he can do a system check to see if his sensors, targeting and weapons are still on line?

But likely Justicar is done for this melee round at least.

So happy Runa's healing helped. ^_^

Now as soon as she has actions again, assuming no one else has attended to it, she will be smacking Moppet for that little back attack.

IIRC both players were spinning too many plates, so took a virtual step away. As they never asked to be removed from the game, they haven't been. If, at any time, they wish to reappear they will.

I’ve been GMing games here since early 2006 and IMO when a player states “I need to step away for an undetermined amount of time” is often a soft sell of: “I want to leave the game but don’t want to flat out say so.”

That said if a player actually gives notice they are stepping away (as opposed to ghosting from the game) it is enough to retain the player and not hand the character off to another player.

TaoZen has been around since the first iteration of this game, like me.  It would be a shame if he decided to leave permanently.
