Bemdo

Being further north than Chamoy, Bemdo is cooler, though the eastern current still keeps it warmer than the cities of the west.
At one time, it was surrounded by a sturdy stone wall, but this now has marks of flame and battering ram. In some places it is entirely breached, and the spaces are filled up with rubble and rough logs. A gate of rough logs now fills the main gateway on the landward side, from which the dragon emblem of Nezrak's empire has been crudely chiseled away. On the harbor side, two grey stone towers also showing signs of war still hold between them a great iron chain which can be dropped into the depths to allow ships to enter or raised near the surface to seal the entrance. Against the hastily restored quays of rubble and wood, there are some ships with the blue and green sails of the Free Isles Navy and others bearing tawny sails painted with a silver bow that marks them as ships of the Order of women warriors dedicated to the goddess Tyayima. There are also some merchant vessels plying between Bemdo and East isle and small harbor boats.
The streets are a mix of battered stone houses from earlier days and more recent houses of wood, with a few in the white-plastered stone common in the isles. A few of the stone ones now serve as improvised inns. A temple of Yervaar has been converted to the service of Maboz  and one of Tulka has now been dedicated to Tyayima, with some of the more explicitly lustful carvings cut away. The former satrap's palace now houses a rowdy council which freely debates the policies of the city in a hall stripped of its former luxurious tapestries and furniture, now replaced with rows of plain wooden benches and, at the front, a table and some simple chairs for the elected magistrates
