Leaving the busy port below, pilgrims seeking the Sacred Studium walk slowly up a narrow, winding mountain trail, with only room for two abreast at most, a steep cliff rising up on their right and another falling away on their left, without any barrier between them and the stream flowing far below. At last they may hear the booming of deep bells above them, and then they come to a gate intricately carved with with the sigils of all the Gods and Goddesses of the Free Folk. The bells fall silent, and from beyond the gate comes a calm clear voice asking
"What brings you to seek the wisdom of the Holy Ones?"
