Gear: Cloak Colors

This is a clothing custom specific to Nezrak's World, not part of the basic In Darkest Warrens system. Most people in this world wear hooded cloaks except in the warmest weather, as the climate tends to be cool and rainy.

Warlocks in particular and others directly in Nezrak's service (such as the half-orc soldiers who garrison the towns) wear black cloaks  when operating openly in their own lands.

Worshipers of the goddess Tulka,  chiefly women in Chamoy, wear green and black striped cloaks in their own city.

Mages of the Free Peoples, trained in the Arcane Academy in West Isle, wear white cloaks when operating openly in the Free Lands.

Some neutral mages wear grey or blue cloaks, notably those trained by Niktor.

Priests/Priestesses of the Free Peoples wear either solid cloaks in the colors of their deities (green for Halbol, yellow/gold for Nelgul, brown for Gumoma, blue for Meboz, tawny (yellow-orange) for Tyayima, red for Yalsel) or white cloaks trimmed with the color of their deities. Many lay followers of these divinities also wear the solid color cloaks; in particular many elves and rangers of the Free Woods worship Halbol and wear green.

Followers of the Barbarian pantheon (both clerics and layfolk) wear cloaks of their deities: red with white skulls for Vod, grey with red blood drops for Tolvar, black with red lightening bolts for Limmodh, grey or black with white hands for Greyfa, black and yellow (or gold) stripes for Vizzhla.

Many commoners (especially rogues) and those who do not wish to proclaim their allegiance (assassins and others on secret missions) wear dun (grey-brown)cloaks.
