Character Creation; Basic Attributes

In Darkest Warrens simply says:
ASSIGN ATTRIBUTES Characters will split the following numbers  between each attribute: 5+, 4+, 4+, 3+.  Brawn:  used for strength and melee. Nimble: used for ranged and agility. Mind:  used for intelligence and  spellcasting. Person: used for personal interactions.  In addition, characters have an assigned  number of wounds and special abilities.  Characters start with 1d6 x 10 gold coins.

My comments are: bear in mind that all Test rolls to determine actions are decided by rolling a d6 and meeting or exceeding the required Test number. This means that you will probably want to put your lowest Attribute score (3+) in the attribute you need the most -- Brawn for fighters, assassins or barbarians, Nimble for rangers and rogues, Mind for mages and warlocks, Person for priests.

Treasure-Hunters and Storytellers do not have specific main attributes, but generally I treat Treasure-hunters as specialized rogues (as in Gandalf's comments in The Hobbit) strong in Nimble, while I assume that Storytellers would need to be strong in Person if they are to be successful entertainers, though the basic rules have no system for determining success in that field. In my world, a Storyteller who tells a tale or otherwise entertains does a Test Person for success, and receives a suitable reward from the audience if successful.

Since the racial advantage for being human is "in dealing with humans, reroll Test Person and take higher roll,"  I feel most humans who are not priests or storytellers can afford to take Person at 5+ as the weakest attribute. Even though they do not have this advantage, characters of other races may make the same choice. Dwarves in particular are traditionally brusque, while some elves are aloof, and most dragonkin are arrogant.
