In reply to Man in Black (msg # 221):

Looking around the room "This is a big room"
ooc: How is it lit?

Seeing the large niches in the walls, Einlian wonders about the missing one.

"Is that one blocked up or is it a false lead?"  Einlian goes to check out all four niches staring with the one that isn't there.

22:03, Today: Einlian rolled 31 using 1d100.  Find Traps.

Re: V: Into the Catacombs

In reply to Einlian (msg # 222):

Entering the room and closing the door.
"It smells old in here, older than the other areas."

Thankfully with the low light Sal can see a little bit, due to his halfling heritage.
following Einlan's lead Sal starts also checking the blocked up niche.
"Must be trying to keep something in or out, either way it appears to be the only way, for now."

Running his hands along the blocks, looking for a button, or loose brick, or breeze, or sign of light, anything!

14:15, Today: Sal Warth rolled 35 using 1d100.  check for secrets .
14:15, Today: Sal Warth rolled 51 using 1d100.  check niche for traps.

Fairly content with his job at searching for traps then secret buttons/doors/etc.

"The only way I can tell to check this niche is with force.  Einlain, do you want to double check?"

Rebeccah waits near the tunnel, expecting the next thing to jump out at the group.  "I had hoped to breathe fresh air at the end of this tunnel.  Could it be behind the brick wall?"

In reply to Sal Warth (msg # 223):

Lets do it

Einlian presses against the wall in the niche, judging the wall, feeling the different bricks for temperature change, for looseness, checking the mortar, scrapping a bit away to see how crumbly it is.

In reply to Einlian (msg # 225):

Lam stands a moment in the rooms entrance, OK, search that brick wall for a way out,

Tath  check out the closest niche with something in it, I will check out the further niche with something in it.   Rebeccah and Melisana cover us with bows,  Kirkrin back up Tath, Jory back me up.  Let's look for a way out

It seems to me that we are just going further underground, Daniv advises.  Perhaps not downward, but maybe more laterally.
He is starting to feel uncomfortable about how long they have been down there.  It would be really bad if the artifacts were back up with the orcs....

In reply to Daniv Jensen (msg # 227):

Hearing the concerns of his fellow shipwreck mates, Einlian saw the Wisdom in sharing.

"Daniv, I feel your concerns but do not let them turn to anguish, that will not only make you feel worse but could mean you miss something you otherwise wouldn't.

If an exit is found, up, down or straight on, it takes us away from the Orc with potential for getting out. We can always come back when better prepared and better equipped"

Then turns back and continues a meticulous search of the alcove.

Re: V: Into the Catacombs

Kerkrin eyes the South wall.  "That wall ain't natural.  T'is covering something up."

Daniv, Einlian, and Sal figure the brick wall is pretty normal.  There are no secret latches or traps that he can spot. There is a plaque on the wall:

Here lies Prince Horedel
Brought Down by Illness
In the Twentieth Year of Viledel's Reign

They determine nothing short of force is going to open up that tomb.  They do remember Keestake talking about the boy being interred with his boat.

As Tath and Lam approach the niches, they can see the bodies of the Sea King and his wife lying upon their slabs.  The bodies are eerily fresh.  Though the wounds of their deaths show, they otherwise have no sign of rot or decay.

Careful Tath, these two look dead and resting peacefully but I fear some type of ... of spell is upon hem for they should be long past this mortal world and gifted to the next realm to rule over.   Do not touch anything.  The Twentieth Year of Viledel's Reign was ..  OOC was how long ago??

Upon hearing Kerkrin declare an interesting fact about the south wall, Lam turns, Kerkrin - check it out but be careful, Rebeccah keep a better eye on him.  Jory go help Kirkrin.

Looking around the room for another way out, on the walls, or floor, anywhere!

Re: V: Into the Catacombs

As Tath and Lam moved towards the tombs, the two corpses begin to stir!  The dead king and queen slowly crawl from where they had lain for 60 years.

(Lam, roll initiative for the group.)

(The brick wall is just that, a brick wall.  You're confident that it holds no secrets.)

Oh, manure, Daniv mutters as the bodies begin to move.  He has his shortbow and his daggers, but had lost his spear in the pit trap debacle.

Moving away from the corpses.  Not seeing a clear way out.

Great King, Orcs come to these depths, we struggle to cope, can you assist us? it was worth a try.

22:00, Today: Lam Durus rolled 8 using 1d10 with rolls of 8.  Init for the group.

OOC Not sure if it is a D10 or not so if not, let me know if you need another die rolled.  I hope high is good.

Lam, seeing the corpse rise err crawl toward them, he shouts, back up, but be read to surround and fight em if need be. He pulls out his spear, ready to attack if need be but also hoping his gods gift may keep them at bay long enough to find a way out (Paladin protection from evil??)

Kerkrin!! did you find anything on the South wall, anyone else find a way out.

In reply to Einlian (msg # 241):

Seeing no other means of deflecting the undead/zombies, Lam moves to block them best he can pulling his spear out and if attacked will attack back the one attacking him.  "Stand close to me if you can and unfortunately we must send the king and queen to a more permanent resting spot"

OOC - So the lower the roll the better LOL   Lam, more or less pokes at the air above him then hopes his protection from evil takes affect.

Rebeccah wasn't waiting around to see their intent.  There were no stories that she had heard that described the undead as helpful.  "I don't think they're here to help," she shouts as her shaky fingers shoot arrows at the walking corpse of the king.

14:43, Today: Rebeccah rolled 4,4 using 1d20,1d6.  attack, damage.
