The hours pass as they make their way through hyperspace. Bane spends most of his time in the cockpit and Zirak spends most of his time in the seclusion of the crew quarters. R5 trundles to and from the cockpit and the engine room. Sora and Sella move about the ship, sometimes conversing with each other, sometimes sitting alone reading datapads or in silent thought. Several hours into the journey to Nar Shaddaa, Zirak has heard footsteps approaching the crew quarters in which he is meditating.

"Zirak?" he hears Sella's voice as she peers in, "Are you in here?"

"No," Zirak replies tersely, not opening his eyes.

"Ha ha," Sella says dryly, entering. She approaches him, but does not sit.

"Look," she says, "I know we may not like each other, but since it seems like we will be travelling together for the foreseeable future, why don't we at least try to be civil to each other?"

"For me, this is civil," Zirak sneers, opening his eyes to stare malevolently at her, "After all, we all know you are only tagging along so you can get the glory of handing Sora over to your precious Stratocracy."

"Still, I have not contacted the Stratocracy to give them your location," Sella replies, reasonably, "I am giving him the opportunity to turn himself in when he is ready to accept responsibility for his actions."

"Because R5 is watching you, and I would eat you if you did," Zirak counters.

Sella chooses not to answer this, fixing him with an unimpressed frown.

Zirak stands suddenly and takes a step closer to her, reaching out a finger and pressing it against her forehead. Sella feels an unpleasant sensation in her mind, as if something is trying to suck her thoughts from within her skull, but is able to break free of it. Zirak steps backwards, sneering.

"Luckily for you, I am weakened. You can keep your secrets for now, but eventually I will find them, Sella. And you had best hope, when I do, that you have Sora around to protect you."

Sella also steps backward, breathing heavily and staring at Zirak with fear and repulsion.

"You are a sick and twisted being!" she seethes before turning and storming from the room.

This seems to be the reaction Zirak was hoping for, as he smiles smugly and kneels to resume his meditations once more.

The remainder of the journey passes without incident, and it isn't long before the ship gives a slight jolt as it exits hyperspace once again. A planet looms through the viewport before them, a mixture of various shades of green, yellow and murky brown. Within a few minutes the planet has grown in size to take up almost half the viewport and a small moon is visible, mottled with glowing lights, almost like tattoos on its surface. It is to this moon that Bane directs 'Malar's Fist', making his way through the thousands of incoming and outgoing ships which surround the moon.

"Now," says Bane lightly as he dodges through the stream of traffic, "I don't know anything about this Vungo the Hutt, or even where to find him, but I have a-"

"I think I found some information on him," Sella interrupts.

"Oh?" says Bane darkly.

"He appears to have an estate in the Docks Sector," Sella reads, scrolling down her datapad, "He's a businessman of sorts, and owns a large number of shares in Hoersch-Kessel Drive Inc, the starship manufacturing conglomerate-"

"I know what Hoersch-Kessel is," Bane interrupts irritably.

Sella pauses in her reading, sending Bane a disparaging glance, before resuming.

"-the starship manufacturing conglomerate. He also owns a small transport business, 'Star Rim Shipping', which operates out of Nar Shaddaa."

"And what of this Ak-Yev?" Sora asks with interest.

"Hmm, I can't see any mention of him," Sella admits, frowning at the datapad, "An enforcer or agent of his, perhaps?"

"So you don't know everything," Bane mutters in mock surprise.

The ship shudders slightly as they pass through the atmosphere, descending towards the neon-lit surface of the of the moon. Bane darts through the traffic as they make their way through the skyscrapers and cloudcutters, making his way to the Docks Sector. The skyscrapers begin to become sparser as they reach the sector, and the traffic about them steadily shifts from personal transports and airspeeders to freighters and cargo ships. Bane spots a circular platform jutting out from one of the dock buildings with which he seems to be satisfied, and swings 'Malar's Fist' about to land lightly on the platform.

"Now," Bane says as he rises and lowers the boarding ramp, "How are you two doing? Can we go straight to Vungo's or do you need a snack along the way?"

"You should not make light of such a serious matter," Sora reprimands him darkly.

"I never say 'no' to a snack," Zirak says, apparently having no issues with Bane's flippancy.

"Well, there are no shortage of snacks on Nar Shaddaa, I can assure you," Bane replies as he begins to stride down the boarding ramp, "Sella is watching the ship again, I presume?"

Sella shrugs.

"I have no desire to meet half the galaxy's criminals," she sniffs, "I assume you will not be running off, Sora?"

Sora grins.

"We will not abandon you on this moon, Sella. I shall return, as always, you have my word."

Sella nods, satisfied, and after sending Zirak a venomous glance, disappears up the boarding ramp once more.

Zirak, Sora, Bane and R5 make their way across the platform, but even as they do so, a wrinkled toydarian comes flapping out to meet them.

"Greetings off-a-worlders," he calls, "Welcome to my-a premium platform. For the priv-a-lige of-a landing here, you must-a pay fif- one hundred credits."

"Quallo, it's me," Bane says, unimpressed, "Here's the usual twenty-five credits."

Quallo seems mildly irritated at losing a potential seventy-five credits, but quickly recovers himself and wastes no time in pocketing the twenty-five credit chip offered by Bane.

"Ah! Bane-a Malar! I no see you there!" he laughs awkwardly, "Of-a course, of-a course! Twenty-five credits is-a fine. In fact, your-a arrival is just-a on time," he says in a lower tone, his expression growing devious, "Maybe you can-a help me out with some dead beats who owe me a lot-a money?"

"Indeed?" Zirak prompts, a greedy glint in his eyes.

"Perhaps on our way back, Quallo," Bane says with a firm glance at Zirak, "We've got important business to attend to that actually pays us."

Quallo looks a little disappointed, but slaps Bane on the shoulder nevertheless.

"Absolutely! I wait until you get-a back. We talk-a then."

"There's no shortage of food around these parts, Zirak, do not fear," Bane says as Quallo flaps back towards a narrow office built into the side of the platform.

The party set off once more, making their way into the crowded streets and alleyways. Merchant stalls line the sides of the narrow walkways, selling everything from droid processors to pickled gorgs. The crowd about them seems to consist of mercenaries, pirates, smugglers and enforcers. All are armed and wary. A few spare glances at Sora's attire, but otherwise seem content to ignore them. After they have been walking for a quarter of an hour or so, they become aware of a pair of rodians who seem be tailing them at a not-so-discrete distance.

Zirak glances surreptitiously at Bane, who gives a slight nod in response. Sora sense that his mood seems to have improved considerably.

Bane jerks his head in the direction of a passing alleyway, which seems to be deserted. He turns into it, followed by the others.

The pair of rodians turn the corner a moment later to find Bane and his companions facing them, weapons drawn. The pair of rodians draw their own blasters, leveling them at Bane.

"You Bane Malar," one of them says in broken Huttese, "Bounty on your head. We collect."

Bane has swiftly fired a blast at the leftmost rodian, as behind him R5 trundles behind an empty crate for protection. The rodian reacts with surprising agility, ducking out of the way of the blast and flicking off a shot of its own, which passes so close to Bane's shoulder that it scorches his jumpsuit.

OOC: Veebo dealt 8 points of vitality damage to Bane Malar.

Sora has ignited his lightsaber, leaping forward at the other rodian with a well aimed slash. The rodian has given a cry of surprise and tripped backwards in its haste to avoid the blade. It has rolled up and fired a wild blast which soars over their heads to scorch the duracrete wall several meters above them.

Zirak has extended a hand in the direction of the rodian who is firing at Bane. The familiar dark tendrils of energy have swiftly formed about his fingertips and wrapped themselves about the rodian, who has given a gasp of surprise and staggered backwards, clutching the wall.

Bane has taken advantage of the rodian's weakened state to blast it in the shoulder. With a cry it has collapsed to the grimy street and has not risen.

Sora meanwhile has slashed once more, and this time his lightsaber has grazed the unfortunate bounty hunter across the arm.

The rodian has fired a desperate last shot, even as Zirak, who seems invigorated as usual after draining the life force of a being, has charged forward. He easily deflects the blast before bringing up his lightsaber to impale the rodian, who has given a garbled cry and collapsed lifelessly to the ground.

As the rodian collapses, Bane has wasted no time in moving forward to search the pair of rodians for credits or any other valuable items. He has pulled a fifty credit chip from one and a one hundred and twenty credit chip from the other. He has also stashed their blasters into his pack before glancing at Zirak.

"Satisfied?"

"I am," Zirak replies, with a nasty smile, "Now, I believe we had someone who wanted to help us kill Sora's relatives to meet?"

"To Vungo's," Bane agrees, delicately stepping over the impaled rodian's corpse as he makes his way back into the street.

It takes them around half an hour to reach the hutt's estate. It is a large building which looks as if it was once a cantina of some sort. It has been refurbished, and another level looks as if it has been recently added to the top of the building. Outside the pair of blast doors which form the entrance, a neon-sign reads, 'Vungo the Hutt's Palace'. A devaronian stands outside, armed with a blaster carbine. He is flanked by a pair of gamorreans, each armed with vibro-axes.

"Hello there," Bane addresses him boldly, striding up, "We are here to see Ak-Yev."

The devaronian appears to be chewing something and simply stairs at Bane appraisingly. At length he shrugs and speaks into an intercom beside the door.

"Someone to see Ak-Yev."

There is a moment of pause, then the blast door slides open, revealing an extravagantly decorated corridor within.

"Thank you," Bane says pleasantly, striding past the guards and through the door, followed by Sora, Zirak and R5.

The devaronian continues to chew in silence, narrowing his eyes as he watches Bane pass.

A wide, polished corridor extends before the party, leading to a large ramp which rises to a second floor. At the wall behind the ramp, a pair of turbolifts are located. A dozen or so doors lead off to either side of the corridor before them. Several guards stand about the corridor before them, three more gamorreans a zabrak and two B2-series battle droids. One of the gamorreans steps forward and squeaks something that none of them understand, but the pudgy hand he stretches out to stop Bane makes it clear they are to go no further.

They wait in the corridor for a minute to two. At length a burly weequay appears at the top of the ramp, dressed in a garish outfit of red, green and white tassels. A heavy blaster is strapped to his side. He stares curiously at the party for a moment, before striding down the ramp towards them. He halts a meter or so from them, his eyes fixed on Sora. The pair stand, staring for a moment, and Zirak suspects Sora is once again communicating using non-verbal communication.

"Speak basic, Sora," Zirak scowls.

"Ah, sorry," Sora says aloud, "These are my companions, Zirak and Bane."

"Beepity-boop!" R5 beeps indignantly.

"And R5," Sora adds, before explaining, "It seems Ak-Yev used to be one of the chief retainers at my estate."

"But it was not the will of Quay that I remain," Ak-Yev adds somberly, with just a hint of resentment.

"We were hoping you might be able to help us break into the estate?"

"Why should I serve you?" Ak-Yev replies to Sora coolly, "You abandoned Quay, the true god, for your false Jedi religion."

He reaches into an exquisitely embroidered silk pouch at his side, withdrawing a palm sized white orb.

"Wonderful," Zirak replies, trying to conceal the sarcasm from his voice.

Ak-Yev closes his eyes, speaking solemnly in weequay as he holds the orb before him.

Sora murmurs the translation to Zirak and Bane.

"He says, 'Mighty Quay, is it indeed your will that I should serve Sora Bulq as master once more?'"

There is a moment of silence, before the orb booms a response, also in Sriluurian.

"Well, Sora," says Ak-Yev firmly in Basic once more, "You have heard Quay’s response."

Sora frowns.

"It said 'the outlook is not good'," he mutters to the others.

"You are aware that that orb is nothing more than a novelty toy?" Bane says irritably.

"How dare you blaspheme Quay's name!" growls the weequay, clenching his fists and advancing on Bane.

"I'll take that as a 'no'," mutters Bane to Zirak, taking a hasty step backwards as Sora moves to restrain Ak-Yev.

"All right," says Zirak coolly, "Looks like we're going to have to do this the hard way. Sora, pin him down and hold him still."

Sora frowns at Zirak.

"Surely we can handle this in a more civilised way."

"He's a weequay, Sora..." Bane says doubtfully.

"Precisely Bane. Hold him, Sora."

Sora sighs. Stepping forward, he takes hold of Ak-Yev, who does not attempt to resist, but merely raises a quizzical eyebrow.

Zirak has stepped forward, pressing the tip of his index finger against Ak-Yev's forehead. A series of images have flashed before him. He has seen the towering exterior of the Bulq estate. He has seen a burnished, durasteel staircase descending into a vault filled with treasures. He has seen stone warehouses filled with textiles, foodstuffs and exotic goods being prepared for transportation. He has seen a safe formed of a dark metal, concealed behind a painting of a moon in a large office. He has seen a hidden passageway behind another, larger painting of a tall, proud weequay with a vibrosword in hand.

"That makes sense," Ak-Yev agrees, nodding slowly, "In all my time serving Sora I always felt Quay was not pleased with his lack of faith. Perhaps it was indeed Quay's will to send me here that I might meet you, and assist in enlightening Sora of the error of his ways."

"Exactly," says Zirak, unable to conceal a hint of greed from his voice, "But we also need to punish his uncle for exiling you, since you are in high favor with Quay. So we need to know how to enter his estate to exact our- Quay's vengeance."

Ak-Yev ponders Zirak's words for a moment.

"I know that Quay does not like me to abuse his ear by asking too many questions. Still, I will ask once more, if it is my fate to travel with you, Emissary, and guide Sora into the true path, and execute vengeance on his uncle."

He once more speaks in Sriluurian to the orb, which in turn booms a reply.

Sora translates out of the corner of his mouth, looking grim.

"He asked if it was his destiny to teach me the 'truth' of Quay, to which the response was 'my sources say no'."

Bane has placed a pained hand to his forehead.

"Can we rig that stupid toy somehow?" he murmurs to Zirak.

Zirak makes a sympathetic noise, before raising his voice.

"Your question was phrased wrongly, Ak-Yev. It is my destiny to teach Sora of the truth. Your destiny is simply to assist us in entering that estate."

Ak-Yev frowns, glancing at the orb.

"I have asked too much of Quay already. If I overuse my access to his infinite wisdom, he tends to contradict himself to admonish me. I dare not question him further today."

"And you need not," Zirak says coolly, "His emissary stands before you, as I have proven. Or do you still require proof? You know Quay does not look fondly on lack of faith..."

Ak-Yev stares at Zirak for a long moment, then at once he kneels, bowing his head.

"You are correct, of course, Emissary. Forgive my hesitance in trusting you, and consequently Quay."

"Better," Zirak says, unclenching his fists, "Now. The estate?"

"Of course, Emissary. I know many secrets to that Estate, as you have seen. My sire and grandsire both served as personal bodyguards to the Bulqs. I shall be honored to accompany and serve as bodyguard to both you and Sora. Though there is still the small matter of payment. I was previously paid a weekly stipend of one thousand credits while in the employ of the Bulqs."

"That's coming out of your share," mutters Bane.

"Very well," Ak-Yev bows, "I shall inform Vungo that I will be departing immediately."

"Yes, he is a few wupiupi short of a trugut," Bane agrees grimly, "But that might actually work to our advantage, if we can find a way to rig that silly orb of his."

"Wupiupi?" Sora repeats blankly.

Bane sighs.

"Nevermind. Another Tatooine thing, apparently."

Sora stares blankly at Bane for a moment longer, before shrugging and turning to Zirak.

"I do not like the idea of playing along with his beliefs in this 'Quay' orb thing. I do this only because ultimately we need to stop this affliction of ours, and my estate may contain answers."

"Sora Bulq, are you implying you do not believe in the mighty Quay?" Zirak replies teasingly, "Tsk tsk."

R5 sniggers appreciatively.

Sora sends Zirak a dry glance.

"You're enjoying this whole 'Emissary' thing a little too much."

Zirak smiles smugly.

"Who doesn't enjoy having other beings in complete obedience? Of course, if you'd prefer him to be controlled by that orb of his instead, just let me know."

Sora remains unimpressed, but nods reluctantly.

"Just don't go overboard."

Zirak gives a sinister smile in response.

"All right," Sora breaks the silence after a few moments, "We have our way in, but we still need to plan what we will do once we are in the estate."

"Perhaps that discussion had best wait until we have returned to the ship," Bane says sharply, glancing at the nearby gamorreans and battle droids.

Sora follows Bane's gaze, looking skeptically back at the bounty hunter. However he shrugs and nods.

"Very well."

Ak-Yev reappears at that moment, striding once more down the ramp to meet them.

"I am ready, Emissary," he bows to Zirak.

"Good," Zirak says imperiously, turning and sweeping from the hallway, "We shall depart immediately. Quay does not like waiting. And what are you looking at?" he sneers at the devaronian on the way out.

The devaronian guard raises an eyebrow, but does not make any response. He continues to watch the party suspiciously until they are out of sight.

They make their way through the bustling and neon-lit streets. On many planets the unlikely group would draw considerable attention, but in Nar Shaddaa's Entertainment Sector they hardly warrant a second glance. Jizz music pours out of cantinas, along with laughter, shouts and the occasional sound of a blaster going off.

"Nar Shaddaa does have a certain charm, doesn't it?" Bane says pleasantly as they walk, stepping lightly over an inebriated bothan lying at the side of the skywalk and ducking a swoop bike as it flies recklessly past.

Sora sends him an incredulous glance as he narrowly avoids colliding with an inebriated twi'lek as she staggers past.

Zirak ignores them, striding confidently along the skywalk and glaring at those he passes, as if daring them not to get out of his way. The party goers about them seem to sense that Zirak is not a being to be messed with, and swiftly move aside as he passes.

R5 trundles along in Zirak's wake, taking full advantage of the path he clears through the crowd.

"It is a foul moon," Ak-Yev says coldly as he strides beside Zirak, also making no effort to avoid those he passes, "Were it not for my exile, I would never have come to such a place."

"And yet, of all the planets in the galaxy, you chose to come to this place?" Sora says, not bothering to conceal the skepticism from his tone.

Ak-Yev regards him coolly.

"It was Quay's will that I come to this moon, following my exile."

Sora raises an eyebrow.

"Ah, of course. How can one argue with Quay."

"You jest, but you will come to see the truth," Ak-Yev replies confidently, "He has sent the Emissary to see that."

Zirak seems pleased.

"Quite so."

Sora shakes his head darkly at Zirak, but remains silent.

They continue to walk in silence for a time as they make their way out of the Entertainment Sector and into the Docks Sector once more. The inebriation levels of the beings about them seems to lower, for the most part, but the crowd about them remains just as dense.

"So, who exactly is Quay?" Sora asks at length, "I gather he is a weequay deity of some kind, but little more than that."

"Sora, don't get him started again," Bane groans.

Ak-Yev glances at Zirak with expectant reverence.

"Emissary?"

"I'll let you do the explaining," Zirak says quickly, avoiding Sora's eye.

Ak-Yev bows.

"As Quay wills, Emissary. Quay is the moon god. The chief of all the deities. The lesser gods, such as Am-Shak, are all under his dominion. His will is supreme, and his knowledge omniscient. The chief moon in our system is named after him, and is where he centers his being."

"Precisely," Zirak adds with an approving nod.

"And don't you dare ask who Am-Shak is," Bane warns as Sora opens his mouth once more.

Sora gives Bane an innocent glance.

"I was merely going to ask how Ak-Yev could be so sure of Quay's existence," he says with questionable honesty.

"Quay's existence is indisputable," Ak-Yev says firmly, patting the pouch in which his orb rests once more, "He speaks to me daily, and you have seen the powers he has given the Emissary."

"Oh I've seen them all right," Sora responds darkly.

"Then there you have it," Ak-Yev replies with satisfaction.

"In short, Sora, don't mess with the Emissary of Quay," Zirak smiles smugly.

By this time they have reached the landing platform on which their ship is docked. There is no sign of Quallo, which Bane assures them is a good thing, but Malar's Fist rests where they left it, and shows no outward signs of molestation.

"So just how many weequay deities are there?" Sora is unable to contain himself any longer.

"Oh, hundreds," Ak-Yev assures him, "I shall be honored to educate you on our journey back to Ruul."

Bane gives a pained noise, shaking his head.

"This is going to be a long trip..."
