"A docking facility," Bane replies unhelpfully.

"Yes, thank you, Bane," Sella throws him a sarcastic smile, "But why is it abandoned?"

"Who would use it?" Bane reasons, "It’s not like anyone would pay to land here. These kinds of abandoned facilities are used primarily by passing gangs and miscreants."

Even as Bane speaks, two figures rise from the shadows before them. Both are niktos. The first is bulky and muscular, and carries a vibroblade. His companion, in contrast, is lean and sinewy, and carries a vibrodagger. Both sport several scars on their faces. Another three niktos emerge from the shadows behind Zirak, who is bringing up the rear of the party, each one armed with a vibrodagger.

"Off-worlders," says the bulky leader of the gang in thickly accented Basic, "You land in our turf. You must pay toll. Fifty credits."

Zirak smiles with cruel delight, a dark energy beginning to stir about him. He stretches out a hand toward the pair before him, his pupils dilating until his eyes are almost entirely black. The tendrils of darkness move out from his hand, engulfing the pair of nikto. Each of them give gasps of horror as their skin begins to shrivel. A moment later their lifeless bodies collapse to the ground.

Sella's eyes widen in horror as she witnesses the pair of Nikto shrivel and die, but she has no time to dwell on them, because the remaining three are already upon Zirak, swiping their daggers at him, though only one comes close to striking him.

Sora quickly lets off two shots at the melee. He is fortunate enough not to hit Zirak. One strikes the arm of one of the attackers, drawing a curse in Nikto, the second strikes the shoulder of the other, who collapses with a gasp.

"You could use a more effective method than blasters to kill them, you know," Zirak points out, suggestively.

"There are consequences to using that power," Sora replies staunchly.

"Yes," replies Zirak snidely, "I am no longer in any immediate danger of killing my friends by accident."

Sora ignores this as Sella, who seems to have recovered from her horror, raises her blaster to fire at the nikto injured by Sora. He blast strikes him in the chest and he collapses with a garbled cry.

"We should capture some alive," Zirak points out as he watches the nikto collapse, "We can store them in the cargo hold, for when we leave this place."

"We will not," Sora replies, sending Zirak a look of disgust, as behind him Bane blasts the last of the thugs in the chest. The thug half collapses, but the rises with a roar to attempt one last blow at Zirak.

Well, his hunger sated for now, Zirak has sent Sora a sour look, but drawn his lightsaber and proceeded to cleave the remaining thug in two. He has avoided Sella's gaze as he fumbles and nearly drops the lightsaber as he attempts to deactivate it with a flourish.

"So much for 'capturing some alive'," Bane says dryly, glancing at the deformed body.

"I think one of them is still living," Zirak says, approaching the one shot by Sora, who seems to be breathing faintly, "Death now, or death later?"

"Leave him," Sora says, "Unless he insists on fighting us, should he awaken."

"Leave him to go and bring back a dozen more thugs to our ship," Bane replies skeptically.

"Leave him to tell his friends why they shouldn’t come to our ship," Sora argues.

"I take that is a 'no', then, to eating him," Zirak says. Before Sora can move to stop him, he ignites his lightsaber through the unconscious thug's chest.

"Well, that ends that debate," Bane says matter-of-factly, as Sora glares at Zirak, who answers with a smug smile.

Sella's gaze is once more on the pair of shriveled thugs.

"What was that?" she asks, still shaken by the experience.

"A little slow for an agent, aren't you? It's no wonder you haven't been promoted," Zirak sneers.

Sella raises an unimpressed eyebrow at Zirak, before turning expectantly to Sora.
