"That depends if Sora and Sella do the lifting," replies Zirak meanly.

"I am not aiding in theft," Sella says snootily, leaving unsaid the 'especially if I’m not getting a share of the profit'.

"Perhaps you will discover upon second thoughts that you don't, in fact, mind aiding in theft?" Zirak suggests.

"Don't worry," Bane replies consolingly, "I doubt they will be anyone's concern. One thousand missing power packs are the least of Kau'dan City's concerns at present."

Chapter V: The Slums of Denon

Sora has no difficulties or complaints about carrying the crate, lifting his side easily. Sella, in contrast, strains to carry her end, almost stumbling on numerous occasions. With Bane leading the way, and Zirak bringing up the rear, the party set off. Bane seems to know his way around this part of Denon, leading the party down a series of winding streets. They do not travel far, though it does not feel that way to Sella. Her hands are blistered and her arms are aching by the time they reach a narrow alleyway into the duracrete walls of which are built several small shops. Bane leads them into the fourth shop down, outside which a neon sign reads 'Spare Credits'.

If Zirak notices or cares about Sella's discomfort, he certainly doesn't show it.

"Is this the place?" he asks dubiously.

The shop, it turns out upon entry, is larger than its outward appearance would suggest. Spanning roughly five hundred square meters, the store is full of shelves, each in turn crammed full of items ranging from comlinks to foodstuffs to apparel. The quality of items is generally down the more spendthrift end of their classifications, but they do spot the odd high quality item amongst the cheaper wares. Picking his way through the cluttered store, Bane has approached the green skinned twi'lek who stands by the counter.

The twi'lek frowns momentarily, before shrugging and turning to a half open doorway behind the counter.

"Kardul!" she has called in Ryl, "Someone here to see you!"

"Hang on!" comes an irritated reply in Ryl. After a few moments a handsome, green-skinned twi'lek appears from a back room, slipping a datapad into a back pocket. His long suffering expression transforms into a genial, if not entirely sincere, smile as he spots Bane.

"Ah, Helmet!" he says in a familiar tone, "What can this humble twi’lek do for you?"

Bane ignores both Kardul and Zirak's instances of the nickname, and if he has a pained expression it is hidden beneath his helmet.

"Kardul," he says, a little too pleasantly, "I’ve got a little merchandise 'this humble twi’lek' might be interested in.'

"Yes, it was an unfortunate oversight that they were only programmed to respond to commands in Shyriiwook," Bane admits regretfully, "But I assure you that today I bring you nothing but standard, high quality power packs."
