"What about locking the people who try to kill us in cells then? We're only going to kill them anyway," Zirak points out reasonably.

Sella directs an unimpressed glare at him.

"Remind me why we we have not yet spaced her?" Zirak muses.

"You got me," calls Bane with feeling from the cockpit.

"We are not spacing her," Bulq says patiently, "And neither are we getting slaves."

"Yes, we are just going to capture some of the, ah, 'murderous villains' actively trying to kill us, and slowly husk them instead of doing it all at once," Zirak says, placatingly, "After all, that was not a controlled outburst. You clearly do not intend to keep your word and only feed on Sella instead of me and Bane."

"I never said anything about only feeding on Sella. I promised I would let you feed on me. And try to stay away from Bane. I have."

"Don't think I don't know there was a two out of three chance of that being us just now," Zirak sneers, "I have been gifted with this power just as long as you have."

"We will not be using beings as some sort of cattle to be stored and fed on," Sora says, his patience beginning to thin, "Regardless of how evil they might be. We shall just have to avoid any space trips that are longer than a day. We shall have to stop more frequently and find villains to battle on those planets."

"And then put those villains in the cargo hold," Zirak continues, unphased.

"No," groans Sora, "How many times must we go over this? It just isn't right to drain trapped, defenseless beings, even if they are evil."

"You do have some quaint ideas, Sora."

"Self defense or defense of others is one thing, but this is more like executing a judgement on them. A judgement I am not qualified to give. I will not kill others outside of battle. We shall have to find another solution."

"It is all right, Sora," interjects Sella timidly, "You can direct your hunger at me."

"Thank you, Sella," says Zirak, "You, at least, understand your true role on this ship."

"I cannot do that," Sora frowns, turning to her

"I survived it today," Sella says, her voice growing more level, "I can try again. And it will mean we will not need to take slaves or prisoners for you two to... feed on, which I agree is despicable."

A dark glare at Zirak accompanies these last words.

Sora still frowns, debating.

"Sora," Sella says, taking a step towards him, "I am your friend and ally here. I know you seek to do the right thing. Let me help you."

Sora sighs.

"Very well. If we absolutely must travel for more than two days. But we shall try to avoid doing so whenever we can."

"Wonderful. Now that we've dealt with your guilty conscience perhaps we can focus on more important matters?"

"Hear, hear," agrees Bane from the cockpit.

Even as he speaks, the ship gives a shudder and comes out of hyperspace. The moon of Ruul floats before them, a tiny orb of lush blue-green.

"So, any idea where we are headed?" Bane asks, as the others make their way up to the cockpit to join him.

"Sora's estate," Zirak says helpfully.
