I'm very excited for this game! :D

Me to I'm bouncing around concepts besides a Pure Breed Kinfolk Woman likely she will be an Artist or some other suitable vocation which lets her mingle with the community at large in a good way.

The only thing I have in mind so far is that my character is going to be a nurse lol. I'll start working on the finer details when I have more info on the setting.

Well I don't want her to be just a Mare, if a woman is only for breeding its kind of unpleasant for them so having ties to the nearby normal humans in a decent way, so she gets a chance to gather information and interact with the community. Not everyone can be out there in the boonies and not interact with normal good people so it makes sense, to find a value there.

even if she's a housewife, if she socializes a bit she can find out a lot.

The 'woman is only for breeding' thing is creepy as hell and I definitely wouldn't want to play that, so I sincerely hope we're allowed to pick a tribe with a different attitude towards their kinfolk.

No but having a respectable area of work a profession, trade or vocation is a good thing it makes one more useful.

What I was saying, is that even a housewife can do things like social meetups, business deals, etc. (e.g. theirs still things you could playthrough)

And only tribe that devotedly thinks that way is the Fenrir.

some from other tribes may feel that way, to be fair.

Edit: Just saw your post Tkolter, your right but you dont need an actual JOB to be valued, learning Rites or Numina works too...

Well if I owned the other book it would help, but I own the main v20 book and well might get the other one someday but being on a fixed income its not to likely this month. I'm still recovering financially from Hurricane Irma expenses.

I'm disabled and she supports both of us so have to be careful with the income now but I live with my folks and well have a decent life just modest. The result of a sexual assault by a scum, I refuse to call that person a Marine. But gaming is important to me socially so love to be here and will have my character done ASAP.

Well I didn't nip my son saw it as a violation if he is older and opts to do it then when a man he can decide, but I think he is fine as nature made him. And looks more like me with big blue eyes and raven hair he is going to be a cutie. I'm not biased at all. ^_^

Well in the game I need to ask the setting in a city, town, villages or other features it will matter for a concept if its say a township with decent life in it over a coal mining area all depressed economically.

Pooling the backgrounds well I'm not sure she would favor supporting other members with a Numina focus with backgrounds for that.

I know she plans to keep Resources, Fame (as an artist more in the town or county for now so two dots) and well the others would be personal Pure Breed and Mentor likely a local elder kinfolk woman. You can use hers for Allies, Contacts or things to help with Numina.

That sounds terrible, I don't know what to say.

I'm good with any but I think smalltowns will make things easier to handle.

Howdy. My first character idea is a Glass Walker Kinfolk artist/engineer that builds talens and fetishes for Garou. Definitely doing some Numina as well.

If you want to be able to perform the rite of binding (Kin can learn and perform Rites now) you need gnosis.

Hmm I think I might go with Bone Gnawers if we decide to use a big city.

Good point are you going to be an RN or an LPN (Masters or Doctorate Level Licensed Nurse Practitioner) the latter do primary care in many rural areas when they can't get an MD?

Its not impossible but difficult to explain you getting the schooling.

Did some Garou from another tribe cover the cost, or the gnawers, scrape it together, and launder it all?

The military is also a great option.

I don't understand why the only way to get in a college is if a garou pays for it. But no big deal, I can go for something else.

Was suggesting one way, the formal scholarships another way.

You could have done work study...

I think they meant as a bone gnawer kin. BG aren't known for their resources so you'd need an outside financial source to go to college as a BG Kin.

Could even be good roleplay experience if it was a not so legal source and they came calling for their interest.

I don't think that is necessarily true for their kin though. I don't have the tribebook anymore but the Gnawers have always been my favorite tribe. I'm pretty sure it is mentioned there that 1) they impose their lifestyle on their kin, 2) the Gnawers kinfolk comes from all sorts of backgrounds and 3) during emergencies the Gnawers are known to rely on their more fortunate kin for financial help. W20 backs this up by being less strict with resources for kinfolk than garou.

That said, I had another idea and am scrapping the nurse, so it's not a big deal!

What abilities do you mean? Bureaucracy, Intuition, etc? They look like the old secondary abilities. In a Vampire game I played a loooong time ago the GMs decided they were rolled at a lower difficult since they are basically more specialized versions of the basic ones.

Hmm... It could work like the Merit Danger Sense, but maybe expand it to situations where the character isn't necessarily in danger.

What are the main tribes going to be in the area?

I tend to favor the snootier tribes, so shadow Lords, Fiana, Fangs, and Glasswalkers, scattering of others.

Hello all, I'm new-ish to the setting as I've only played the Vampire and Mage versions. The concept I have is a sort of kin of the Get of Fenris, possibly having a full Garou sibling as a contact. As for support, I was thinking of making him ex-law enforcement and now a business owner (likely in construction or contracting). For what sort of town to be in, I would suggest something moderately sized but not a metropolis, so something you might find in the bigger midwest cities.

I haven't decided on my tribe yet. I'm between Shadow Lord, Glass Walker, or Bone Gnawer.

Owner of Holt's Salvage, the junk yard located just outside the town. The back part of the Salvage yard has his small house and private work space where he does custom metal working and crafting.

Also my Kinfolk: A Breed Apart just came in the mail.

Define "clean".

I can't decide between pharmaceutic or network security specialist.

Pharmaceutic Offers more excuses to study numina, Network Security specialist is more a "Modern" vocation.

I based the vocations partially off my own life choices. Law enforcement is fun and all, and would have let my character (Eli Williams) help out his sister after her first change and generally keeping her nose clean in the human world. As she would have gotten older and more experienced staying hidden, Eli would have transitioned to something he felt would benefit a lot more people, building homes. Construction work is usually a great deal more lucrative than police work, so that would let me start with a decent resource, some contacts, and probably have my own sort of scholarship program.

Okay, I think I'm settling on Bone Gnawer kin, he can use part of his salvage yard as a camp for wandering Gnawers. Maybe they refer to it as Junk City. It could be hidden behind stacked cars and piles of scrap. He'd be open to allow passing Ratkin to use it as well.

Sprays Febreeze on the Bone Gnawer kin.

Well okay, how about the Wisconsin Dells in Wisconsin its touristy, has unique landscape on the river, is a Native American presence, is rustic in spots and nearby other cities and towns. Plus make the best homemade fudge on the planet.

Plus there is web sites and the like to get details for.

For pooled backgrounds, I'd probably go for Allies, contacts or Garou Favor, as Ingrid is not likely to have Equipment.

So I'm looking at changing the concept just a bit from ex-cop to real estate and construction businessman. Most of my points are going into things like Resource and contacts to help cover up some of our activities. That also would give me a decent sized property just outside of town to foster garou and kin alike when they need to pass through. I still haven't decided whether or not I'll be focusing in Social, Mental, or Physical stats.

Plot ideas

A group of Garou have a suicidal mission that the want our help on and we have to decide to help them or not
A group of OUTSIDE rock star garou want to do the same thing but the local garou think this a terrible idea and need to defy higher rank garou quietly and subtly
The garou ask us to take out an independent target based on a master plan they have like a pentex target that we blow up with dynamite
