Numeria and Torch Gazetter (in brief)

Torch lies in the Numerian Plains, one of the most "civilized" bits of Numeria.  The region survives primarily through their agriculture since the soil is actually fertile, unlike much of the rest of the region.

Regional features include:

Black Horse Outpost is a small farm surrounded by a tall wooden stockade.  Visitors find it generally unwelcoming and that there are an oddly large number of guards about.

Blackpipe is a small community of farmers and herders named for an adamantine cylinder that juts from the area's fertile soil.

Choking Tower is a sooty black tower that rises above the surrounding forest and bears a spiky corwn of exhaust pipes and chimneys which belch trails of smoke that can be seen for miles.  At all hours of day and night, it resounds with clangs, bangs, and howling whistles.  The area is known for attracting giants and other unusual visitors.

First Blade's Path is the northern border of the plains which separates it from the Sovereign's Reach region.  It resembles a riverbed, though it is too straight for that and runs for undreds of miles to the Sellen River.  It is a site sacred to Gorumites.

Gorum Pots is a dangerously hot, acidic mire sacred to Gorum.

Hajoth Hakados is the largest city in the region with a population of 6,780.  It is a generally tolerant city and is home to Cythrul, a renowned expert on skymetal.

Iadenveigh is a community of hunters and lumberjacks devoted to Erastil and an absolute loathing of technology.  They do not tolerate androids or technologists and happily destroy what they can.

Szamrak's Haven is a small community of androids hidden in a series of caverns.  They believ ein the superiority of androids and work to further their species.

Marstol is one of the larger farming settlements in the region.  It is primarily populated by older Kellids and those otherwise unable to travel for some reason.  This village (and many more like it along the shores of the Dagger and Seven Tears Rivers) is generally left alone by the clans who seasonally share the bounty of these villages and otherwise leave them alone.

Torch itself is the second largest town in the Plains with a population of 4,320.  Torch was founded as a small farming community a few years before the flame began to burn atop the hill a little over a century ago.  Since then, the strange flame that allows the working of skymetal has
