Introduction [READ FIRST]

The Starfinder Society is a form of organized play with a strict ruleset and specific bookkeeping requirements. Familiarize yourself with the Guild Guide found under Game Links, the rules there are the law.

Characters.
Players can create characters in rpol or use characters previously used in or created for Starfinder Society. All rules for characters are found in the Guild Guide, and this means that players with characters having previously taken part in Starfinder Society will need to show digital copies of their Chronicle Sheets to the GM.

48-hour rule.
In order to keep things flowing, a general 48 hour rule will be applied at all times. This means that you have 48 hours to respond to anything happening in the game, after this time the GM may decide to move things along - if needed through controlling the actions of your character.

The reason for this rule is to prevent games from stalling and ending due to player absence and lack of activity. These games are to be played to have fun, and to roleplay, but in being part of organized play, finishing scenarios and quests are also a goal in itself. Finishing the game awards credit in different forms to GMs and players, and when you sign up for a game here - you agree to bring the game towards the conclusion so that credit can be awarded.

Implications out of combat
The GM should and will move scenes along when players do not respond. If only one or a few players do respond, their actions and opinions will be interpreted as the decisions of the group. If players do not bring the game forward by participating in conversations or making choices, the GM will make choices for the PCs - leading to PCs missing out on the opportunity to find important clues or make the most beneficial decisions.

Implications in combat
Players that do not post their intention within 48 hours may be controlled by the GM. This should lead to the players taking simple actions similar to those of their companions (e.g. attacking or moving to attack the same NPC, healing nearby wounded PCs), or only taking defensive actions (especially in the case of 5+ PCs in one adventure).

Prolonged absence
Anyone not participating through posting for over a week may be treated as not having played the quest or adventure, depending on the length of the adventure and the participation throughout the adventure. These decisions will be made by the GM.

Bookkeeping

Digital copies of Chronicle Sheets will be sent to players at the conclusion of scenarios, quest, or quest arcs.
