While his moments of surviving through the various near-death experiences against the forces of Satan, Matsu has managed to get a good grasp of his partner's (or unwanted occupant, depending on who you ask) capabilities and become a part of Akira's trusted force of Devilmen.

The final battle loomed near as Matsu found himself feeling contemplative all of a sudden, wondering what life would be like once the fight would end. The evening sky was unusually clear that time when shooting stars could be seen flying across overhead.

Sitting alone and drinking a can of beer that he had managed to find behind a shelf in the back of a convenience store, Matsu sat by himself on a pile of rubble, overlooking what remained of a city. Taking a sip, he thought about his life, while looking at his work clothes; worn-out pants and shirt with a tie. So much had changed. Too much had been lost. Everyone he knew had died, but he was still here. He wasn't really sad, per say. But he did feel empty. The Devilman army was most likely going to lose. As much as Lord Fudo was strong, that didn't change the fact that Satan was just too powerful. But that didn't stop him from enjoying some expired beer.

Either the beer was a strong one, or it wasn't as expired as Matsu thought it to be. It looked like the shooting stars were diverting from their course and were flying... in their direction? Glowing yellow spheres floated down into the ruined city, entering buildings like they were ghosts as sand gently rained down from the sky.

Was this a preemptive attack by some new force Satan has sent? It didn't seem like a handiwork of the great Devil himself unless he decided to do something completely different.

"Oh Shi-" Matsu exclaimed as he jumped up from his sitting position. Tossing his beer aside, he gave a grunt as his transformation took place. Bones bent and cracked as they re-aligned themselves. Skin hardened to become a black and crimson mixture. Teeth elongated and sharpened as mandibles formed in his mouth. His eyes glowed with a solid pupil-less red, and long pointy stingers emerged from his stretched out from his forearms, coated in black poison.
 Once the transformation had finished, he stood tall at 8 feet tall, curved horns protruding from the sides of his head. An exoskeleton like armor covering him head to toe.

The humanoid Devilman stood ready, deciding whether to fight or flee.

"Are you one of Satan's doings?!" he called out in a raspy like voice.

"Matsu, what's going on! There are weird creatures everywhere!" one of the volunteer watchmen called out upon climbing up to where Matsu stood in his Devilman form. Before Matsu could warn the man however, a glowing orb descended and entered the man. Sand generously poured out from the man's clothes, gathering and forming an unusual creature whose upper body sprouted from the ground, while the creature's lower body sprouted above the upper body, hovering overhead.

"Tell me your wish. I will grant whatever wish you ask. However, I will ask for one thing in exchange..." the mysterious creature offered, slowly approaching the volunteer while ignoring the Devilman.

"Get away from that thing! We don't know what it is!" he shouted to the volunteer as he attempted to tackle the weird apparition.

The sand entity merely crumbled before rebuilding itself, continuing to talk to the shocked volunteer. There was not even a bit of resistance as the thing focused simply on asking for the volunteer's wish.

"A-any wish...?" the volunteer asked as he glanced briefly to Matsu's way before looking back at the entity, slowly backing up when it rebuilt itself after being tackled.

"Any wish," the entity added as it noticed the volunteer's eyes shifting and looked to where he briefly glanced. Seeing Matsu made the entity nod as it finally became solid, taking the form of a batlike creature.

"You stay here, I shall grant your wish shortly," the bat entity said before flying off in haste into the night sky, leaving Matsu and the volunteer by themselves for the time being.

Matsu stared at the volunteer before reverting back to a semi human form, In case there was still a threat, and quickly jogging over to the individual.

"Are you alright? What... Did you wish for?..." he asked with caution.

"I... I'm sorry, Matsu!" the volunteer apologized as he looked up at Matsu, "I just thought that if I could be like you and Fudou-sama I could somehow help you guys out..."

It did not take long for the bat-entity to return, this time accompanied by two of Satan's devils. The devils rushed at Matsu as the bat-entity went for the flank, shoving whatever was in its hands onto the volunteer's chest.

"G-guh....!" the volunteer gasped as he fell to his knees, shuddering as if in shock as signs of devilification was taking place in his body.

"The contract has been fulfilled, now for my end of the contract," the bat entity said as he fearlessly approached the suffering volunteer. Shoving both hands into the young man's chest, the entity managed to split the man open without causing him harm and jump into a portal that was within the volunteer.

The two devils kept their eyes on Matsu, wary of what the Devilman would do with the scene that was unfolding before him.

"Dammit! Mako! Yoshiro! I need you!" Matsu shouted while changing back into his full demon form. From behind him a rustle in the city ruins was heard. Suddenly two figures jumped down to land on either side of the ex-salaryman. One was a short haired woman wearing a some baggy clothes. The other was a street punk looking guy, with tattoos on his arms. He had a short hair cut and was wearing nothing but some torn pants.

"What's up, Aniki?" the punk asked Matsu. While the
girl, Mako, gave Matsu a nervous glance.

"Just some demon scum looking for an ass kicking!" Matsu said, charging forward with his teeth bared.

The goat-like devils rushed forward to meet Matsu head-on, taking their chances to bring down the Devilman as quickly as possible. Matsu's two partners also assume their Devilman forms - providing assistance for the trio to swiftly dispatch the foul devils.

As this was happening, the volunteer was managing to keep his transformation in check. A young man stumbled into the scene from a door that lead to nowhere, followed by a girl, and approached the volunteer with a card in hand to place near the volunteer's head. An image of the bat-entity appeared on the card, along with a date that Matsu would recognize - the date when devils have appeared in the world.

"What?... Guys! Take care of these two!" He said as he rushed towards the bat like entity. His backup gave nods of understanding before intercepting the two goat demons. Mako took on the form of an avian creature, with wings sprouting where her arms would be, and talons on her feet. Yoshiro had a more reptilian appearance, covered in scales and possessing claws and a spiny tail.

Matsu charged full speed at the pair and the volunteer, fully intent on separating them and hopefully getting some answers.

The bat entity has managed to give Matsu the slip, but to where would be the greatest question that these two new people could answer. The man looked to be easily unsettled upon seeing Matsu charging their way, while the girl stood her ground in Matsu's way.

"Wait, we're here to go after those Imagins!" the girl called out at Matsu in an attempt to explain what they were doing.

Matsu paused for a moment before grabbing the both of them by their shirts in an effort to intimidate the two.

"Who are you? Explain yourselves!" he roared in impatience.
