Selene pushed past the door the delicate sound of the sea and lite music resonated through her ears as she walked through a straightforward enough route which inevitably lead her to the heart of the ship. She pushed through another set of doors and found herself in a room similar to the last but the accommodations were able to acomodate far fewer. To her surprise the room was vacant bar one bottle of wine and two glasses.

No sooner did the door close behind her and she came further in to the room did she here the voice.

"It has been eternity waiting for you here my sea Lilly." His voice rang out as his arms wrapped around her with him standing behind and pulling her to his chest.

“Au-Aurelio?!” Was all that escaped past her ruby painted lips, shock plain across her face as she turned slightly to look at him, “But, if you’ are here, then...!” It didn’t take much time to sink that the elusive Doge of Venice was someone she knew nearly intimately. Trembling, she clasped both her hands over one of his, “You’ve been hiding in Venice all these years?”

He nuzzled against her it took a few moment for him to so much as acknowledge her words outside of the moment his breath was a soothing kind of cool as he was breathing against her.

"I am indeed the Doge, or at least I have been for many years now. I took up residence here to be a part of the world but still separate when I needed, it is a perfect city for those looking to escape." He spoke with a sense of peace in his words as his fingers laced with hers and his grip held her close.

"I see though I am not the only one who has found solace in the Danse Macabre but now we have found one another again. Not a moment has passed in my mind without a thought of you since the Masquerade so long ago." His words were full of sincerity and sentimentality.

Selene breathed a quiet sigh of relief as she relaxed against him, “I understand why you lied in your letters, but we could’ve continued to message one another?” She knew even before she spoke, it could’ve never worked. She thought Aurelio married and with children of his own and a life that she was shunned from. She couldn’t grasp it then, but after decades, she had realized that he was saving her a lifetime of longing, but things were different now, “I’m sorry, we’re not here to talk of such things...”

"What I am, makes keeping people close dangerous at best but with the the conflux of events being what they are, we can resumes where we once were, my eye need not loose your light." His words were like honey in their sweetness as his embrace remaind as tender as she could have remembered.

"We will have ample time Selene to discuss our past and everything that leads to our future." His words were spoke filled with deep emotion and a sense of deep relief.

“Not everything is as it once was... I...” she looked at her hands, devoid of the stolen wedding ring, “But shouldn’t we begin with why the emperor has sent me here?”

Selene felt like she could melt into his embrace forever, but she was also torn with her emotions. She had devoted herself to Haloise, as such their vows... But Aurelio was an enigma to Haloise because she spoke so little of her love lost.

"Diligent you your duty." He noted her professionalism "Things have changed since we last could hold one another but my feelings for you remain the same." He held her tightly and whispered to her.

"I would almost think your Emperor knew my identity and our connection." He said with some jest before giving a lite kiss just on the back of her neck.

Selene practically swooned as his lips touched her skin, “I... I was abandoned... And there were complications...” She was nearly in tears as she recalled everything that had happened after his final note to her, “I never stopped being in love with you... But I was nearly forced to marry the monster who killed my sister... and even now I... I have a husband, but this...” Selene felt weak, as though her heart was shredded, but she couldn’t hide her feelings, “Aurelio I love you.”

Selene pulled her hands over her face, concealing the blush and few escaped tears and waited for the rejection she knew had to come. Haloise had made a mistake sending her here. She had ruined everything.

He patiently listened to each and every word as it came from her the depth of her sorrow affected him and he held her even tighter as she spoke. A silent pain ran through him as she made mention of her marriage, of the misery she suffered because he was not there for her. He could hardly hold it against her for finding another it was only natural, a sliver of jealousy ran through him a certain undeniable desire for her to be his yet he understood and he knew how she felt telling him all of these things, he held her close.

"I never stopped loving you." He said on a whisper to her "I am sorry for everything m, that I could not be there for you but we are together again, I leave it in your hand what we can make of it." He spoke close to her ear a tremor of emotion running through his words.

Selene was breathless as his words traveled across her skin, her anguish temporarily displaced. She had no idea what to do. But surely if Haloise could love her and Xaver the same, couldn’t she too love Haloise and Aurelio the same.

“It is through no fault of your own,” she held his hand tightly, “I know that you took the actions you did to save me from pining for you, not that I ever truly stopped. But...” she took a deep breath, “My husband... the emperor and I... we are not forbidden to have other loves in our Requiems.” Selene couldn’t believe what she was saying, but it was certainly a truth of their house. She had to hope that it wouldn’t be impossible for Aurelio to stay in her eternity, she had to hope to make Haloise understand even if it meant divulging a past that may he hurt him, as much as she didn’t want to.

The Blood Rose probably would’ve been in less distress if she was being quartered.

"I would love you until the final star in the night sky grew dim and without condition." The words pored from the deepest parts of him and he continued to hold her close

"I have missed you so very much, there is so much to tell I do not even know where to begin." He said with some levity "Might I offer the lady a drink and a seat." He gestured just ahead of them.

“I... Ye-yes please...” Selene stuttered at the beauty and sincerity of his words. The world seemed to be spinning around the two of them as the moment became surreal, like a dream, “Please... tell me everything.”

Slowly they made their way to the two chairs and small table that has been arrayed for them, not a moment passed where his hand did not hold hers as he offered her a seat and filled her glass then his.

"Before we get to stories and business, a toast to us finding one another again, the sea cannot be complete without its moon." He said raising his glass to her.

Selene blushed deeply, but held her glass to his, a smile flourishing across her lips, “To us.”

As she looked at him, Aurelio seemed to be the only thing in her vision that wasn’t obscured by her dream-like state. He was crisp and clear even when not directly in her line of vision. Everything else surrounding them, the table, the chairs, the walls and decorative objects were almost indestinct, with blurred lines and details. Never before had she experienced anything quite like it. It was all magical, even the gentle sway of the ship.

His glass came against hers and then to his lips the small amount of liquid quickly passing.

"To forever." He added after the wine and his lips found hers for a delicate kiss, he then took his place beside her where he looked at her as if a miricale sat before him.

Selene tasted the wine, savoring the taste as it rolled on her tongue. After the sweet affection from Aurelio, she averted her eyes from his gaze as it was so intense. She fingered the stem of the wineglass, tearing through her mind for all the things she could ask, but nothing came to the forefront. She opted for a second taste of the crimson liquid, again letting a few precious beads of the wine roll over her tongue, but one slipped out spilling from the center of her lips.

The seats were close, everything here was closer then normal thanks to the cramped quarters of any boat. His hand reached out his index finger lightly caressing her wine stains lips eventually bringing the single head to his own tongue. "Like Vitae every drop can be precsious." He spoke his eyes still upon her his mind utterly caught up in the moment.

The Blood Rose held Aurelio’s gaze, wide with embarrassment, suddenly aware at how close he was.

“F-forgive me... I’m not usually so clumsy..” she whispered. She felt hot, but wasn’t sure if it was being so close to the Doge or the heat of the room. She shifted to remove her jacket, and moved to stand so she could slip it off.

No sooner did the jacket fall from her form did the Doge pull her close and bring her to sitting in his lap.

"I hope you can forgive me but I think this is a better way for our conversation to continue." He had a blush on his face now as one hand caressed her soft skin.

“Um... Tha-that’s fine.” She stammered again, her lightweight coat hea[ed on the floor. Selene became acutely aware of Aurelio’s body beneath and next to her. She pulled the shorter left side of her asymmetrical skirt down a fraction of an inch as she felt perhaps it was too much skin and not at all appropriate for this surprise meeting. On another hand, however, Selene was melting to his gentle touch.

"So tell me what thoughts are running through your mind my sea Lilly we finally have time to have one another without interruption." The Doge spokeand his words were calm and soothing his caress filled with countless years of longing, thoughts of the negotiations were a distant thought.

“I cannot think straight...” she admitted sheepishly, timidly lifting hand to touch his cheek, “I can’t believe it’s really you...”

Her turquoise eyes moved slowly, etching every detail of his face into her mind, “I cannot count how many times I played  the memory of our time together after the incident... Waiting beside the coast for two weeks with only each other’s company. When I started to cry after coming out of delirium the second night, you pulled me outside into the moonlight and we danced on the beach until nearly dawn.”

She blushed her gaze meeting his.

"It was so many nights ago yet to me it feels as if it were yesterday, even now I imagine us back on that beach with nothing but one another." He held her closely as they brought up the past. "I never thought I could know happiness like this again." His hand delicately ran through her hair.

Selene closed her eyes, reveling in the feel of his hand. Her eyes fluttered open after a few moments, to meet his gaze with a dazed gleam in hers.

“I still fantasize about the night... Dancing to no music but the notes in my heart, and laughing in way I had never laughed before nor after... Falling asleep in your arms as dawn shattered the night.”

"Perhaps then I might interest the lady in a dance." He offered with a smile his hand lightly caressing those areas where he could feel her skin.

A shiver of delight ran up Selene’s spine at each caress. She brought her hand to hold his cheek and leaned forward, kissing Aurelio softly on his lips, her eyes barely open to watch his reaction.

It took the Doge no invitation for him to return her tender affection and after savoring every delicate desire he was able to bring them both to a standing position his hands found their place for them to dance to the song in their hearts for the music that played through the speaker vanished from their minds.

Selene smiled and followed his lead, moving gracefully as she was an expert dancer. She almost expected the world to melt away around them and be back on the beach where he had stolen her breath away so long ago.

"Tell me how do you feel in this moment." He asked as the two of them slowly made their way around the room and with some kind of grace his eyes never looked away from hers as they moved

“How am I to find any words to describe it.” She replied with a carefree laugh, “It’s almost like having been transported back in time to a different world that somehow became more beautiful than this one.” She was able to maintain eye contact with him finally as they swept over the room, “What about you? What are you feeling?”

"Words are inadequate, let me show you." With that he brought his lips again to her kissing deeply his grip was tight as he pulled her against his body. He operated in the realm of instincts and simply gave himself over to the deep affection and allowed it to carry him where it would.

Selene melted against the daring captain, parting her lips for him to taste her as he pleased. He hands gripped him for she was certain her legs had already given out from the moment his lips claimed hers in his passion.

He did not break from the kiss not for so much as an instant as his passion only intensified. His hands grew more adventurous then they had been the Night of the Masquerade one running down her leg the other strayed up and down her back. He was losing himself to the moment and a blisshe never thought he would have.

Selene’s body reacted before she could even think of what was happening. She arced her chest forward against Aurelio as his hands wandered over her body. One hand remained braced on his chest while the other traced along his jawline with an inviting touch.

It was not long before his passion brought her against a wall although it was hard to notice given the melodic rocking of the ship the added support allowed his to be ever more adventurous with his desires. His free hand eventually found its way to just under her shirt, not in any Great intrusive way but just to feel the softness of her skin as his lips clung to hers his eyes looking over her as the sailed in to one another's desire.

Selene murmured through the deep kiss as he felt her torso. In her mind she knew she had been pinned between Aurelio and a wall, but her body didn’t care. It was like heaven to share this moment with him, even as much as to let her tongue lick at his lips.

He pulled only slightly from the close lip lock.

"Selene, I hope it is not overly forward, I found resisting you to be an impossible task but being this close to you I almost feel alive again." He spoke his breath brushed against her.

In response, she held one hand over his that was on her side beneath her shirt, “Then let us feel alive.”

Selene watched him, wanting more of his kiss.

He needed no more invitation then that before he again took up her lips with a deep affection his hands grew all the more adventurous taking all that was said as simple encouragement. He began breathing at a rapid pace with warm ties returning to his skin, Selene brought the Blush of life to its forefront.

Selene slid her hand over his shirt, feeling his chest through the garment. She tried to dulol her moans as Aurelio’s touch grew more wanton, but she failed, her mounting desires obvious.

The room shifted and bent around her there was no way to tell if this was the passage of time and passion, some trick brought about by Obfuscate, or her own senses growing lost to the passion she found herself in a room of silk and warmth and his wandering touch tamed only by the growing fire of his kiss.

Feeling as though they wee miles away from the rest of the world, the Blood Rose brought both arms up and around Aurelio’s neck, holding him close as they fell into an enamored kiss. But one of his hands strayed, moving to timidly explore his body.

He could hardly control himself at this point his singular purpose was to give her everything she wanted and more, with one hand he grabbed tight his shirt and in a blink of an eye tore it away from his form throwing the mangled garment to the side as he ravished Selene with deep affections.

Selene’s hands moved freely over Aurelio’s torso, feeling his sculpted form over his chest and stomach, caressing his sides and back before coming back to the front. She tried to keep pace with his impassioned kiss, but she could feel that she was loosing herself in the sensations.

His desire was driven by more then lust that was keenly evident just by the energy he was giving off, Selene could feel it, practically even taste it on his lips, it could have been Auspex of any number of things that did not matter outside of this moment. At this point both of his hands were hungry to feel her pristine skin and found their way to their prize while his lips remained fervent in their claim and hot with their passion.

Selene decided she was done denying him, and used her fingers to quickly unbutton her shirt until her torso only had a black lace undergarment keeping her chest concealed. Her hands slid back onto his skin, caressing everywhere once more, a passion long locked away from unleashed.

His hands strayed in an ever more adventurous way working their way to her back like a hot breaze, his eyes watched keenly taking in the sight of the women he had waited so long for. He took command of the Kiss if there was any doubt by this point and his hands worked diligently to free her chest of restraints and their bodies pressed together her soft skin finding his strong body.

A soft moan arose in her throat as she felt their skin meet with both their upper bodies almost completely exposed. While her constraints were strapless and fell to the floor, her shirt still covered her arms. The skirt she had chosen for this evening had a zipper on one side, which one hand fumbled with. She had no idea how far things would actually go, but thoughts were such a distant concept. The skirt loosened just enough to be able slip away from her hips with a gentle tug. She kept her other hand on Aurelio, wandering all over his skin, and her tongue looking for his in his fierce kiss, although she knew she couldn’t last long against his passion and would need to break for air soon.

"Selene I never imagined I would be able to see you again, to hear your voice, feel your skin, nor kiss you lips." He pulled from the kiss and lavished Selene with praise "my love for you never waned once!" His lips then gave a series of affections starting at the top of her neck working down to her collar bone. His hands still held her firmly as they were pressed together.

Selene moaned loudly as he assailed her with passion. She felt as though every touch he graced her with, whether his hands or lips, was electrifying and it was a heat she could feel as far down to her knees. One hand ran through Aurelio’s long black hair holding him to her sensitive skin, the other hand losing around his waist.

“Aurelio.. I missed for you so much,” she gasped at each kiss he gave her neck.

His affections only intensified when she spoke when moans slipped past her lips driving his passions further.

"Selene I love you." He whispered to her his hands strayed to her hips and pulled her close.

Just over his shoulder she could see a desk upon which sat familiar notes which have slightly yellowed with age but there was no doubt that these were the letters she had sent to him so many years ago.

With tears instantly springing to the corner of her eyes, Selene gently guided Aurelio’s lips up and back to hers, kissing him so passionately yet softly before breaking away to whisper, “All the notes I sent you... All this time...” She didn’t know what to say. She was so shocked, Selene had never considered the agony it must’ve caused him to sever their ties. She didn’t know.

"I could never let go of you my sea lily, when I lost you, I lost the best parts of myself, holding you in my arms again." His words were soaked in emotion "makes the world right at last." He nuzzled against her.

Selene smiled captivatingly at him, “I love you.” She then caught his lips again, pushing her exposed torso completely to him. A bright blush crept into her cheeks as she realized that Aurelio had access to her body. She moved her affections along his jawline, aiming to start down his neck.

"Selene" he groaned her name as her lips pressed against him one of his hands strayed slowly working its way down her back and further still to her backside his touch was tentative at first but a few affections later his caress grew ever more forceful and he pressed Selene more to him and she could feel his excitement now pressing against her.

She moved slowly down his neck to his collar bone, gasping against his skin as he grabbed her. Selene moved one hand south, tugging her skirt loose, wanting to give him whatever he so desired despite her embarrassment at showcasing her form to him.

His eyes were illuminated as if he was looking upon perfection. "Selene your beauty is indescribable, let us have what was denied to us for so long." His voice was warm and his singular attention laid upon her.

She blushed brightly, bringing one arm across her chest, her gaze downcast, “Please, there are thousands more deserving of such praise.” She had no idea why she suddenly felt so timid, but it probably was because she never could’ve imagined this moment with him.

"Selene my desire is strong but I will not compel you to any action. If you feel uncomfortable at all we may simply take a seat on my bed." His arms rested on her shoulders, he could sense her feelings and wished to reassure her. "Only me and you stand here in this moment together, a dream I dreamed one thousand time, I could not ask for more then this."

“It is not that I do not want to give myself.. “ Selene glanced at quickly, “I just... do not wish to disappoint you, for it is a moment I never could have imagined.”

"There is no disappointment for this night and every night you shall be my queen of the night and my flower of the sea." His hands made their way to her hips.

Selene slowly dropped her guard, her arms coming to either side of his chest. She dared to meet his adoring gaze, waiting for a reaction, “I am yours..”

He did not come at her with rabid desire instead he pulled her close to him and brought his lips to hers with a deep kiss as his embrace enveloped her.

Selene returned his affection in full, her arms wrapping around his torso and to his back, clinging to him. She stepped out of her skirt, baring only a black sheer panty that covered nothing in the back and the boots still on her feet.

Without any hesitation he effortlessly lifted her up his lips not breaking from hers and he brought and laid her on to the bed laying beneath him and only did his lips break from hers. "Look around you take it all in, never once did I think fate would bless me to know you never did I think I would be twice blessed to meet you again." He spoke calmly but with such warmth in his words.

"You lay bare and beautiful before me" he whispered kneeling somewhat before her as he slid one boot off and then the other. "I imagined the night when we would give ourselves to one another many times and of the life we would of had if fate did not set us apart." One hand gently tugged at her remaining garment until there was no trace of it.

"Everything I am able to feel now is because of you." His words concluded and he disrobed himself before her.

She couldn’t help herself, watching with a sense of awe as Aurelio exposed himself. Her turquoise gaze watche his eyes as they never seemed to leave hers. She had neve known such honesty to exist, particularly amongst kindred. But Aurelio’s words she knew to be true; she could feel it. Not sure what words of her own could perfect the moment, Selene simply extended her arms, beckoning him to her.

He came in to her arms as he took her in to his his eyes like two jewels illuminated in her light.

"I could never imagine holding you like this. Every dream pales in comparison to this." He spoke quietly.

“You need not dream anymore.” She purred as she wrapped her arms around him. Selene nuzzled her once lost love before kissing his lips softly, “But why not tell me what you had imagined to happen next?”

He returned her affections and then let out a smile "Perhaps it might be better to demonstrate it rather then just explain it with words." The was some deviousness to his words as his hands reached behind her and he began to fidget with something.

Selene arced her back up to allow him room to work, “What are you doing?” She could feel something other than his hands beneath her, but she couldn’t imagine what, “Shall I move for you to complete your task?”

With a suggestive smile and a few nuanced affections he was able to capture her hands in a soft yet firm binding behind her back. As soon as he was confident that she was at least in some way restrained he came to his knees and looked upon her with a sense of gleaming satisfaction on his face.

"When I told people of you before my Embrace, they would jokingly say on the day we were to be wed that I would need more to bind someone like you to me. Perhaps here I have taken their advice to literally yet seeing you lay in my bed" he paused for a moment "words truly fail to describe this moment." He spoke sincerely although Selene could recognize a deviousness in him that rivaled Haloise on his more creative nights.

She blushed hard, tugging at the firm restraints, “Since when have you taken the advice of others?!” Selene knew she had little choice in the matter as seafaring men knew how to tie knots. But it was certainly nothing she had expected and now she knew that she couldn’t do much in the way of pleasing him for the ways she best knew how.

“Are you certain that you do not want my touch and would rather keep me bound?”

"When the advice is good why not take it ?" He asked with a smile "As for keeping you restrained, I think so at the very least for the time being, I believe if I know you the way I do you would protest what I am about to do." He spoke with a flicker of humor in his words. He then lowered his torso and his hands made their way beneath her legs and held her hips. His tongue then traced a sensitive outline around the petals of her flower.

“Ah! Aurelio!” Selene squirmed as he teased the area surrounding her delicate lust-slicked flower, “Pl-please you needn’t d-do such a thing!”

There was little she could do to stop him though as she was held by the restraints quite tightly, even if she tried to close her legs, his strength would easily win out. “Why not let me have a taste of you instead of th-this!?” She tried to reason.

A clever grin came over the Doge the delight of the moment filled his mind and propelled him forward. His tongue projected himself and he pressed himself against the Queen to the fullest extent that he could while his grip on her his mover her against his lips.

Selene arched her back, gasping and squealing with pleasure as he lapped greedily at her nectar, “Ah-Aurelio!” Was all she could manage out as her struggling was in vain to free herself. Already her body was tense with decadence.

He continued the decadent work for a time his tongue sliding about as he pleased caressing the gentle petals before delving deep in to her. His pace was impossible to predict ranging from slow and deep affection to rapid and hard sensations. She could tell in some part by the energy he was giving off that he was throwing himself in the moment and savoring every part of it as he did. She could catch his eyes from time to time peering up at her as he worked watching her indulgence.

Selene blushed deeply every time she caught Aurelio’s eyes watching her as she squirmed beneath him in ecstasy. With each venture his tongue sought within the delicate folds of her flower, he caressed a most sensitive spot, causing her to squeak and gasp feverishly. It didn’t take long for her to reach her first peak of the night as he was so unpredictable in his pace and movement.

“Pl-please! I- Ah! I...!” She bit her lip hard enough to draw a bead of blood and her whole body tensed as she tried in vain to hold back the flood of nectar.

Moments after Selene found her peek he climbed her form and brought his lips to hers kissing her deeply and embracing her tightly. His eyes nearly seemed to shimmer with the way he looked upon her lost in the majesty of the moment.

"Shear with me your thoughts." His words were warm and inviting as he spoke them his body nearly pressed to hers.

Selene breathed deeply as she recovered nestled in Aurelio’s arms. She squirmed still trying to free herself, “I... want to embrace you.” She sighed against his neck, “And mmm... I need to repay your attention in kind.”
A shiver of delight ran up her spine causing to snuggle ever closer into his warm hold.

"I could hardly deny you." He whispered and somehow the restraints were loosened "but you owe to me nothing." He whispered to her.

She pulled from the somehow loosened bindings and drew her arms up around his shoulders. She kissed him passionately, shifting them slowly until she was on top of him, her legs rubbing against him. She eventually broke the affection to trail soft kisses to his ear, whispering, "I want this.."

"I could think of no more perfect place to be then by your side." He looked up at her with admiration in his eyes his hands ran over her skin the subtle shifting of the boat barely just noticeable.

She gave into another impassioned kiss, her tongue adventuring past his lips for one more taste before she worked her way south on his body. Her lips were soft as she left a trail of affection down his torso and to his excitement. With one hand, she carefully began to stroke then lowered her mouth, taking the head between her lips.

A groan slipped by his lips as the delight shot up his spine his eagerness pulsed the slightest affection as he laid there beneath her. His eyes were wide aww struck by what he saw and was experiencing and a smile came to his face.

"Selene ..." he said her name caught in the pangs of desire as she worked upon him.

Selene’s lips slowly came down around his extremity, until he was fully in her mouth and her hands were both anchored on his thighs. She looked up at him, a lovely pink hue to her cheeks, as she began to move her lips. She slid her mouth upwards until just the tip rested on her tongue before she came back down, taking his member to the back of her throat. She settled into a rhythm, gently increasing her pace as her mouth grew comfortable with his thickness.

His hand gently ran through her hair as she began her work upon him modest groans slipping by him at first trying to preserve his hidden sense of delight but it did not take long for Selene to work past this barrier and illicit deeper notes of his satisfaction as she worked.

"If you keep up this pace Selene, I will certainly loose myself." He focused somewhat biting his lip in a fashion as he moved to endure her impassioned work.

She pushed her chest against him, secretly happy he hadn’t thought to play with them much, but her decadence work kept her occupied. She was intent on savoring every drop of lust he might offer her. Not much longer after she began her new regimens his hand laced with hers gripped hard and his body melted in to its desire finding a fulfillment from Selene that might have even take the Queen by surprise as his body pumed his lust from him.

"Selene" he cried her name as he came well past his peak the pent desire of over a century finally finding some semblance of release.

She lapped up his sticky lust before slowly releasing him and sitting up just on his muscular thighs, her legs on either side of him.

“I um... I hope that was alright...” her voice was a quiet and shy, her hand covering part of her face as she turned from embarrassment.

He turned her face to look at his "Selene do not hide yourself away from the sands of time kept us apart long enough." He said before bringing his lips to her again

She threw herself into his kiss, bringing one hand to his cheek and the other entangling in his long dark hair. The way the pair had moved to reach one another, Selene now rubbed her slick petals against his member.

“Oh Aurelio.. To be here in your embrace... It is as though this is all a dream.” Selene sighed, letting his soothing words sweep her concerns away, “I still cannot believe it..” she lifted her gaze shyly to his, one hand trailing to trace his jawline.

He placed her upon the bed against and delivered a sensitive affection to her lips.

"We have each lived long enough to see our dreams come true." He said laying somewhat beside her.

She ran her fingers through his long dark locks, holding her breath as though she was trying to keep this moment frozen in time. She appeared completely mesmerized by the sea captain.

"What shall we say when tomorrow comes, I am certain there will be much gossip about the city regarding how our first encounter went." His mind still rested on the bed of a dream but a sliver of grim reality lingered somewhere in his thoughts.

The haughty vampires of Venice were sure to already be spinning webs of rumors and the mysterious nature of the Doge will only further elevate those stories. Aurelio could help control the conversation through Dante and Cesare should things get to out of hand.

“It doesn’t matter what tales they spin.” Selene was resolute, “None of it will hold any foundation and we are the only two who need to know. The first meeting is a courtesy anyway.. Vague pleasantries, a careful brush of the debates to come, a mild encounter.”

She settled against the bed, drawing her knees to her chest and holding her arms around herself as such. Her concern wasn’t of the population of Venice’s thoughts and conjectures, but rather for how she would even begin to explain any of this to Haloise.

He enveloped her in his embrace his arms circleing around her and holding her close. "Your clever disposition remains the same as I remember, I will not worry for no doubt could taint the perfection of this moment with you." He ended his sentence with a kiss to the top of her spine.

She reacted immediately as the sweet affection although innocent in nature caused her back to tense thusly making her chest puff out. She glanced over her shoulder, embarrassed at the reaction, “My apologies... I cannot help what my body does when touched in certain ways.” She then relaxed and leaned her head against his arm, “I suppose I have never been one to care much for the fluctuating opinions of idle lips.”

"You apologize, yet I see nothing to apologize for." He said in a warm way "I am glad to see you have maintains your strength of will through all these nights. It is one of the qualities I have missed for so long." His words came across like a gentle breaze.

“You don’t find my over sensitivity distasteful?” She laughed softly, “You know if I had not been promised back then by the time of our meeting, I would have begged my father to arrange us together.”

"If you wish to call it that I find it to be a more endearing quality." He said with delight in his voice "So when will you regain me what you have kept yourself busy with all these years.?" He asked with exuberant interest.

“Oh, I’m unsure of where to even begin..” Selene hesitated as she knew she’d break down with everything that had led up to her embrace, or of beginning to recount her memories built with Haloise, “There was so much turmoil and oddly enough threats that still persist to this night... It’s actually a bit astonishing how much of my past has surfaced into the Requiem.”

"Some of the Awakend scholars I have retained have mused to me about how our kind are touched by fate in various ways, so perhaps there is some validity in their council afterall. I must imagine you have encountered all manner of bizarre creatures in these long nights, my own adventurous have lead me to cross paths with many of them, some much less friendly then the rest." He mused oh his own thoughts trailing a bit with all of the events which have lead to this point.

“Perhaps there are some truths and faces we can never escape.” She let out a melancholy sigh before kissing his arm, “I’ve discovered my worst fears are our kindred.”

"What do you mean ?" He said squeezing tightly his head resting a few inches from her.

Selene sighed, a wistful look to her eyes as she seemed to stare into her past, “After the shipwreck and we had parted ways, the estate you were  had tried to take me to in France was attacked and the man I had been arranged to wed with perished. His wealth and material possessions and all the rewards were claimed by the man that murdered him. My father... My family had some debts that the marriage was supposed to anull, but this man wanted the wealth and he was intent to get it by any means necessary...” she drew a deep shaky breath as she continued, “When he arrived at the Amantea estate... Everything changed. My sister was raped by his men and grew sick with child which eventually took her life... My father fought desperately to give me a different life, but that man forced him to agreement with my hand in marriage... He... “ Selene covered her eyes as she recalled the night, “He ran my father through while my father held and apologized for not being able to save me... While I did not wed him in the end, because I thought I had killed him with my own hands, he’s resurfaced recently as one of us...”

"To think such a monstrosity would be given the gift of the embrace, his actions are unforgivable and my own left you to that rabid beast." He embraced her tightly holding her against his chest "I will ensure such a beast never again does you fowl I swear it to you."

“It is through no fault of yours... And potent influences have tried to free me from his mind and touch, but all have failed. It feels as though it’s inevitable that one night I’ll be consumed and eventually disappear to all except for him.” Several large teardrops spilled down her cheeks as she drew her hands over his arms, “Even now, the rumors of his newest employer run rampant, someone who wishes to harm my Sire in the worst way, and I am the weakness... It is why the Mekhet accompanied me here as a protector.” She turned to look away, her hair falling in a dark cascade to hide her face, “I am a lost cause, Aurelio..”

"I will keep you safe from this rabid beast I swear it. Your Sire the Emperor sent you because he has confidence in your wisdom, I have heard stories of your deeds, I think you are stronger then you give yourself credit. You are not lost my sea lily, you are found and here you are safe I swear." He held her close offering what comfort he could to her in the moment.

"He is like a plague. I will not have you sacrificed, not now!" She cried bringing one hand to cover her face further, "Not now that I know you're here and unchanged... Still the remarkable man I've fallen for... I would never have you put yourself in harms way for certain death."

She sank into his embrace trying to regain her composure, murmuring "Stavros will have his way.."

"More then one power has tried to unseat me from my place all have failed, the Mages thought this city theirs and now they require my protection, the Werewolves thought this their territory and one by one I bested their finest champions with wit and sword. I am not some rudimentary lord hiding in his tower, Venice is mine because I made it so and just as I gave you my word so will you know my protection." A hidden charisma emerged from the Doge, he was no amateur in the Danse Macabre, he was hammer and knife both working finely but crushing his adversaries.

"If this man would do you harm then I shall mark his as a foe, I will accept no threat to you least of all when you are under my protection." He spoke and Selene could sense his predatory aura flare as he walked just close enough to keep himself from feeling Frenzy.

She sank against him completely, letting her tears drain slowly. She hadn’t meant to divulge so much about all her worries, but it felt so easy to open up before Aurelio. She wrapped her arms around his as they encompassed her exposed body. She knew it’d be foolish to try and dissuade him any further as the presence he exuded was potent. She actually did feel safe, just like she had during the storm when he’d come for her.

“My apologies.. I mean no offense.” She whispered, “I only fear him so because I’ve seen the destruction left in his wake.”

"I will liberate you of your fear, its tyranny has hung over your head for far to long." He spoke more sensitively as he held her in his embrace

She had doubts for these were promises that Haloise had bestowed to her with outcomes that neither of them could’ve predicted. Her Sire, her husband, was so much more powerful than Aurelio with so much more experience. How on earth could the Doge hope to best a foe that seemed indestructible.

Lost in her own storm of turbulent thoughts, she kissed his arm as it protectively held her. Then again and again. Her lips were soft against his skin, her fingers featherlight on his skin.

His hands moved quicklyhepulled one of the silk sheets over her and him before gently kissing her. "We have weathered storms together, you need not worry."

Selene shifted slightly so she could have a better look at him. She turned just a fraction more, so she was facing him. Her hands came up, one resting at his chest, the other tracing sweetly against his jawline and to his lips. There were wet lines down either side of her face from where had cried moments ago, but she watched him with an almost blank gaze from her hypnotic eyes.

“How did I ever let you leave my life?”

He brushed her cheeks gently clearing her face as he carried a heartfelt smile on his face one hand found its way to hers holding it. "We lost each other in life just to find one another in the Requiem." He whispered.

She smiled at him, bringing their clasped hands to her face so his fingers were pressed her lips. She kissed each one going on way before coming back across each of her fingers, her gaze upon his handsome face.

“I cannot seem to stop giving these childish affections to you...” She mused, “Perhaps it’s from our lifetimes apart.”

"We have lifetimes of love with which we must catch up upon, I feel we are more then up to the challenge." He said before kissing her forehead and then her lips.

Selene returned the affection, lingering in doing so. Kissing him was something of an aphrodisiac to her, leaving her to savor every second their lips touched.

He stayed there quiet enjoying the solace of the moment as he held her in his arms returning affection after affection.

Her affections became softer and more playful as the couple laid in each other’s arms. Her hands slid along his back, gently touching every inch of his skin as she settled into enjoying their shared quiet decadence.

"I have heard of your mortal days but what of your Requiem I can tell by your station you have kept yourself rather busy." He asked sincerely.

“I’m sure there is not much you really want to hear... It was only In the past two decades that I decided to leave my calling card on kindred society.”  She seemed reluctant to share too much, “I’m certain that if I had never been coerced into the Ordo Dracu, I would not have become famed as the Blood Rose and none of my other stations would have fell into place as they did.. I spent most of my Requiem traveling... Running.”

He seemed intrigued

"After I first saw you at the Masquerade I did some investigating and I must say you are quite accomplished. Uncovering a Kindred science, seizing Europes most dangerous Domain and mastering it, only to in turn claim a Kingdom as your own and in the process defying monsters and tyrants." He recanted what amounted to the last few years "I would say you have had quite the storied Requiem if I do say so myself."

“You must have access to quite the fountain of knowledge.” Selene blushed, “Just think if I had been ambitious from the start. But what of you? You’re impossible to find records of, and you speak of besting will workers and the forsaken.”

"I have enjoyed secrecy and anonymity in my Requiem, perhaps enough time chase glory as a mortal taught me the pleasure of quiet and subtlety." He mused "in my early Requiem I was an adventurer, chasing down Kindred secrets and I learned many things but I grew tired of the nomadic lifestyle and set roots in a city where I could still explore when I willed." He jested "Over time I climbed the rings of the city and confronted her adversaries and was eventually elected Doge some decades ago."

“Where did you traverse to?” She looked at him with intrigue, “I had traveled for well over a century after my Embrace. It’s almost surprising that we haven’t run each other sooner.”

"My ventures brought me across the globe by sea naturally, I traveled to Istanbul, Egypt, the Far East. There were many mysteries that intrigued me and truth be told my consent maritime travel is how I originally found out about the vampires of Venice." He jested "there is much I could tell and I shall in time."

“I avoided the sea, traveling my first few years by horseback until... Well um,” she rubbed her eyes as though they were dry, “an attack by some hunters killed my Orazio.” She cleared her throat, “After that, it was whatever transport was available. All throughout Europe and Germany and Spain, France, all the way to Russia...” I wish that cameras had been something easily carried because some of that wilderness were the best sights I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing.”

She shook her head coming from her memories, “Honestly I’ve been so terrified of the sea, I panicked upon just seeing your vessel, but with you, I would travel the world a dozen times over by water.”

"Perhaps one night when time permits I might give you a cruise and we can see the world together." He said as his hand traced up her side to her face turning her slightly so that he might again taste her lips. "On my voyages I could always feel a loneliness that only you could make vanish." His other hand ran across her soft skin running nearly the full length of her body.

She shivered in delight at his touch, returning his kiss with a delicate one of her own, “I’m sure you’ve had a plethora of ladies beckoning. You’ve always been the gentleman to get them swooning.. and sometimes the men too.” She smiled warmly, recalling the first time they met at the docks and a man fainted rfrom the heat of the day into the water and Aurelio had dived in to save him.

"Some have chased but none know the ocean of my heart better then you." He continued with the sensitive affections while his hands ran softly along her skin, they strayed though in a evermore adventurous ways as they continued to exchange words and affections.

She bit her lip as his hands grew bolder, suppressing little squeals of delight. She closed her eyes, relishing in his every caress, “I always wondered what a lovely life we would have celebrated together had fate loved us then...” She drew one hand to his back just under his shoulder blade, the other coming to rest just at his collar bone, “But perhaps it did love us all those years ago and it simply was not time.”

One arm roped around the center of her chest while the other held her hip pulling her close to his tense body "Selene it is such a challenge to resist your charms." He whispered

She looked shyly at him, pursing her lips slightly, “Just imagine if I were using those charms.. How quickly would you upon me?” Her breathy words were seductive, a shimmer cast in the dim light across her turquoise gaze, “And this tension...” she drew her hands across his chest, tracing with a feathery touch across the defined lines of his muscles, “How might I set you at ease?”

"I feel I would be hopelessly lost if you expressed your intent as such. It is perhaps embarrassing to admit that my own craven desires for you are difficult to set aside. Your beautiful form has long vexed my mind and sampling you has own proven my dreams to be woefully inadequate." He said nearly biting his lip and a mild blush on his face.

She cast him a sultry smile, a playful gleam in her gaze. She trailed her fingertips up to his chin, tilting his head back just a fraction and then leaning forward and kissing the top of his throat with soft lips. Her other hand caressed down across his firm skin to his hip, her fingers touching the sensitive area where his leg joins the torso.

“Tonight, let me be your vessel.” She replied breathlessly between affections. She wasn’t sure how much more of his essence her body would hold, her flower filled much more than she had ever experienced she before, even when Haloise was at his most ravenous. "It is a special place that might appeal to you I more ways then one." He spoke ambiguously "but I see some shadow has befallen you in this moment, tell me what has you on the edge of grief rather then bliss, surly theremust be something I can do." He tried to encourage her "As for your companions surly I can earn their trust."

“I... It’s complicated... Xaver is here as my guardian, but he’s keen on picking up irregularities... He’s also the personal shadowed hand of the emperor and might well report back that I’m unwell if he picks up unusual behavior.” She lamented, “Ulbrecht would be apprehensive at first, but would come around soon. But I’m unsure if there are any unseen agents keeping tabs.”

"Is the Emperor truly so paranoid, I am confident I can earn their trust after all I must do so to give you peace of mind." He continued to try to offer comfort her. "If you have faint in me then there is no need to worry."

“No no! I have no doubt in your charisma!” She kissed him sweetly, “It’s that... I have proven to be a weakness for his majesty time and time again, and the enemies the empire faces now have a certain... taste for me.”

She blushed brightly, pushing the memory from her mind, “My Requiem in the past few years has been like a fantastical novel.”

"Where you see weakness I see only strength, if the Emperor is as bound to the blood as they say then you must be his tether to humanity and the only thing that makes this Empire stand out." He was quick to say "Indeed the story of your rise has been one for the records.

She was overcome with guilt as he spoke of Haloise, “Aurelio... I...” she didn’t know where or even to begin.

It had taken Haloise a nearly a century and a half to profess his love, yet the second night with Aurelio he was forward about it. Had there not been such a difference status between them, he might’ve asked for permission to wed her in their mortal days. But she held both close to her heart, but how could two rule it? Haloise seemed to have little to no qualms about dividing his love between her and Xaver, so why was this so difficult for her?

She leaned her head forward slightly and gave Aurelio’s neck delicate affections.

"Thoughts and conversations for another time." He gently held her his hand running up her back and holding the back of her head as they kept a tight embrace.

“I um...” she leaned into his hand and moved her long dark locks away from her neck, showing her bare skin, “If you want to... I wanted to offer this...”

"Selene ... I ..." he paused one could practically hear a heartbeat and instinct took over his teeth sank softly in to her throat tasting her Vitae in a slow yet steady way, his grip went loose and then grew tighter.

She gasped, bracing one hand on the wall behind her, the other holding him tightly, “Oh, even the way you indulge a taste is seductive..”

His tongue closed the small wound on her neck, the taste of her blood was like ecstasy to him making his eyes roll to the back of his head as he came back to his senses. "Since my eyes first saw you again I wondered what you would taste like and never have I experienced a rush such as this."

She blushed with a smile as she combed a few stray strands of his dark hair back, “I’m happy to be able to demonstrate one fragment of my allure to you. Perhaps one of these nights, I will show you how flexible my... profession has made me.” She kissed him tenderly, her eyes gazing inquisitively at him.

"How very intriguing, it is nice to be able to weave ourselves in and out of socioety as we please. I must admit my time as an overrated Kindred travel agent has made me privy to many interesting things." He spoke with some humor of his own escapades as he caressed Selene his mind left to ponder just what it is that she keeps herself busy.

“It’s a bit of a niche market... I’m not certain if you would even approve of my uh... trade.” She laughed, “But you, a kindred travel agent? It already sounds like you’ve had plenty to deal with here in Venice. All the trials and tribulations.”

He let out an amused laugh.

"What we all do with are time is all fair enough I suspect there is little in this world I have not seen." He kept his smile.

"Years ago, centuries ago now, Venice ruled a trade empire with contacts across the world and the Vampires of Venice were wealthy, many assumed that the Invictus ruled here but in that time they did not, another Covenant the Gallows Post ruled in Venice their agents and rouges bound the Kindred world together providing the only reliable means for vampires to travel from city to city." He spoke with a scholarly demeanor.

"But the Empire of Venice crumbled and so to did the fortune of the Gallows Post, Duke Antonio was among the first to give over the secrets of the highwaymen to the Invictus and for it he was given position and title. Now the Invictus has absorbed much of the the Gallows Post once did and Venice has some how defied obscurity, so it is that the Duke and the Ruling Council manage much of the cities affairs while the Doge preserves that spreadout empire." He elaborated on the city.

"Makes me sound rather important doesn't it." He laughed.

“I suspect there are some things that might still surprise you and that you would wish to see,” she mused before pouting playfully, “You are quite important! Besides the tales you accomplished as a mortal, I’m ever more enthralled by your incredible feats in Requiem.”

She ran both hands through his hair, taking a moment to take in all the details of him she’d come to miss over the decades. He must’ve I gone the Embrace shortly after they departed one another, because he was unchanged. But she had aged, become more womanly, her features more refined. Although he had easily enough identified her in the masquerade, but she recalled clearly having a period of time where she needed a series of specific tailoring for her dresses, letting out the chest, taking in the waist and the like.

She was entirely focused upon him though, his long straight dark hair with several locks framing the sharp lines of his face, his dark green eyes with their inviting gaze, his strong jawline, and a muscular body littered with scars.

"I have kept myself rather busy these years, needs must I suppose but I have freedom to come and go as I please thanks to these arrangements." He mused enchanted by her gaze.

“To think if I had ever gathered the courage to touch the seas again I would’ve encountered you sooner.” She spoke quietly, still absorbing his appearance, one hand staying behind to play with his hair, the other trailing immediately with her gaze as her fingertips traced down his cheek, and to his lips, “And I had always wanted to visit this city... Then perhaps I could’ve seen you in action and had my breath stolen sooner.”

She was unaware of him watching her as she was delicate in touch.

He took them again to the bed allowing her to lay upon him at her leisure.

"Fate set our course and now we have been reunited, I could ask for no more then this, we have eternity still before us and now." He smiled his hands gentle as they caressed her. "So might I ask what your thought of Venice are thus far?"

She rested one hand on his shoulder, the other tracing delicate circles on his chest beside where she laid her head just at his collar bone, “Venice has a rich and mysterious history, gorgeous architecture and feel to the city as whole, and it makes me a bit homesick, but in an oddly pleasant way. On top of all this, it had brought us together.”

"I will take that to mean that you are enjoying your stay here in that case." The Doge spoke with a smile, laying back upon the bed so that she was now laying atop his chest. "I hope my curious associates have not bothered you, I know the two of them can be rather forthcoming."

She shifted slightly as so to peer up at him, her chest pressed to his upper stomach, “One is quite... hungry. I can tell every time he looks in my direction, he’s undressing me with his eyes. The other seems a bit more romantic and sensitive. But both seem capable.” She pursed her lips, seemingly in thought, “Their unique fire skills are quite something else.”

"It is a rather long story how they came to be as such, suffice it to say they are uniquely talented individuals." He smiled his hand running through her hair "I assure you they will do you no harm and that they are your friends here."

“I trust your judgement and your people.” She smiled and shifted to a sit position at the bedside, “You’ve always been selective about the company you keep, it’s only Cesare’s hungry gaze that makes me a little... embarrassed.”

She stood, her long dark hair cascading down her back as she moved to grab their wine glasses from the table. With one drink in each hand, she pivoted and walked back to Aurelio, offering him one of the glasses, “You’ve left me quite parched from our... Activities.” She blushed.

He sat up in the bed admiring her as she walked freely about the room.

“He has a pension for over appreciating the beautiful things in this world.” He was amused as he took up the glass “Yes it would seem we rather lost ourselves in the moment.”

Her cheeks flushed red as she took a seat on the edge of the bed, “I would say there area great many other people and things to be over appreciated than myself.”

She lifted the glass to her lips, taking a long taste of the red liquid, her other hand pulling her hair over one shoulder and showing her the pristine skin of her back as she fidgeted with her long umber locks, “This still seems so surreal.”

“I think there is no finer thing in creation for which is worthy of appreciation.” He said before tasting the liquid. “Something I never even allowed my wildest dreams to take me. Perhaps some night will carry me to your far away home.”

“I think perhaps you need to get your head checked or witness something truly beautiful.” She flashed him a sweet smile before bringing a gentle hand to caress his cheek, “To Amantea where you might sail into, or the landlocked city of the U.N.?”

She sipped her drink once more before using one knee to kneel on the bed and leaned far to place her drink on a nearby nightstand, her dark locks falling in a veil against her pale skin.

“I will go to where I might find you.” He spoke slowly before drinking of the beverage “So tell me where is it that I would find you. Amantea, the UN City, France, or perhaps Venice.” His voice trailed.

She carefully placed her glass on the glass on the wooden stand, “A least three of those places... “ She sat back onto the bed, one leg folded beneath her as she placed with her hair, “I have not been to Amantea in quite some time... I had left when my sire refused to admit any feelings for me.”

She seemed to stare from into something beyond sight although she held a delicate smile, “I was absolutely awful quite some years after the Embrace. A nightmare in my stubbornness.”

He listened closely, taking in her words with a smile “I would say we are all entitled to the trouble brewed in out youth we must grow from something after all.”

She scooted closer to him, touching his cheek an trailing down his neck and tracing the defined muscles of his chest, looking on with awe. “I would say that it drives us at any age.” She smiled, “Would you entertain me with stories of your youth?” She blushed faintly.

“My youth as a child or a vampire?” He mused on with a delighted expression “I suppose vampire because you certainly must have seen what life was like during your adventures for the Kine in our time.” He was clearly amused st the idea of Selene’s European tour. “After my Embrace, my Sire and I well we were nomads, never quite spending to much time in the same place for all to long a few years at most. It allowed me to see all kinds of Kindred and experience all kinds of Domains. When I was older my Sire gave me free reign although it often seemed I was just establishing his next Haven.”

“In time I grew to suspect my Sire fell in to torpor as such things go and I continued my adventures for a while, eventually I meet Dante and Cesare and made them in to my retainers with the idea to embrace one of them. Fate then sent me on my way to Venice where you might imagine what happened thereafter.”

“Tell me have you found any in your Requiem you have thought to take in to the night ?”

“I uh... no.” She admitted with embarrassment, “I’ve just recently even toyed with the idea of it, but perhaps I’m simply being picky, or stubborn.” Her gaze passed over his before returning to watch her hand, her fingertips still tracing his body, moving south on his torso, “I’m a bit envious that you encountered two such candidates., but then... I suppose that I’ve been wary and haven’t allowed many to grow close.”

“Fair enough your point is understandable the Embrace should not be given cheaply after all. Had in not been for the brutality of time I would not have given out the embrace twice in so close of a time span.” He seemed to understand Selene’s point of veiw and empathized with it.

She nodded, still committing every detail of his body to memory, “Time is both the best and worst asset of our kind.”

Her fingers trailed to where his leg join his torso, traveling along the defined line but stopping before getting too close to his manhood. Her gaze jumped to his as a bright hue of scarlet ran across her cheeks, “Forgive me for getting so close! I um, I just forget myself sometimes!” She moved to withdraw her hand in embarrassment.

“I see nothing to forgive after all had fate set a different path for us all that I am would be as yours as you would be to me.” He said before gently kissing her.

She smiled and retracted her hand, her fingers lacing together to cover the forbidden treasure between her legs.

“So surely you had lifetime over of romances? Has anyone else struck your fancy? I’m sure it’s not easy to seduce you.”

“There have been others which have pursued romantic trust but if I may be blunt they were all rather plain and boring, a wet candle in comparison to the way you have stirred my heart” he said as one of his arms moved to hold her close “I can only imagine how many men you have had to have beaten back over these years perhaps that would be the dawn of your warrior prowess.” He said with a smile.

“I’m afraid it’s a war I’m not sure I could win, although after the rebellion, I’m sure that some will think twice before earning my ire.” She clasped her hand around his arm as he pulled her close to him, “Affairs may be one thing, but true love quite another.”

She shifted her body, pressing against him as much as she could, shivering at the intimate closeness, "Did you truly keep all the letters I sent you?"

“You have proven yourself time and time again you have a rather esteemed reputation.” He notes with a smile turning his gaze to the desk where he kept the letters “I have indeed, in my darkest hours, they were a source of comfort. I can not tell you how many ones over the years I have drafted a letter to send to you, but I knew that I should not and then what could I have expected so many years later.”

She laughed softly, “I would wager that you could not have predicted us like this, much less coming together at all.”

Her hands held his arm tightly as she looked at the desk with all the delicately aged papers, “I wonder what sort of note you would write to me now?”

“Opportunity may present itself again and perhaps we might pick up where we left off in our llong lost affections but while you are here I intend to hold your company.” He continued on with a smile “a new world of possibilities are open to us and in time I would like to show them to you.”

She shifted, turning herself to face him. Her lips tenderly kissed his skin, a breathy caress on his collar bone. “If only this moment we’re endl,” she mused before kissing him again. Her body pressed to his like a two pieces coming perfectly together. She kept one leg in front of the other as she could feel his lust seeping slowly from her petals and was embarrassed to let him know how romanced the sensation felt.

“Another chance we may yet be able to reap but alas the sun is soon to be upon us and this vessel must be brought to dock.” He kissed her again gently “there are many nights before us and endless roads for fate to take us let us find our destination together.”

She sighed and nuzzled against him, “It barely feel as though an hour has gone by much less the entire night.” She rested her hand on his chest, before realizing his words and lifting her head to look more directly at him, “What do you mean by ‘this vessel must be brought to dock’? Are we at sea?!”

“Time melts away because of you.” He caressed her “this vessel rest among the Lagoon but it is not a place I frequently make Haven do not worry you can still veiw the land.”

She clung to him, wishing the seconds to stop, “When will we meet again?” Her voice cracked as she began to feel the weight of parting with him.

“I do not know if I could go another night without beholding your smile.” He caressed her as he offered his encouragement “We will have many nights to come my Sea Lily”

She kissed his shoulder gently before moving to pull away, “I suppose we should make ourselves decent.”

“There is little reason to be in such a rush” his voice trailed a bit as he helped her up from the bed and then pulled her close to him “I can hold you close a little while longer now can’t I ?”

She blushed, looking at him with an inviting gaze, “I don’t suppose we could lie and say we lost track of time so I might spend the day in your embrace?”

“Perhaps we may, you do not suppose that would inconvenience your companions ?” He gave her a gentle kiss a smile tugging st his lips at the idea.

“Ah... I suppose we should at least check in on them,” she sighed, “Xaver can be unpredictable, while Ulbrecht is the pinnacle of etiquette.”

He pressed a button beside his desk speaking a few words in to it as he gave instructions for the rest of the night to his two retainers.

“I believe that has been taken care of but if you still so desire we can check on your companions the choice is entirely yours.” He said with a smile returning to her side.

“What a shockingly modern device for such a beautiful antique ship.” Selene mused as she leaned back on the bed and spread her arms, inviting him to her chest for an embrace, “I think they’ll be alright a bit longer.”

“My thoughts precisely.” He said as he began making his way to her “While there is something to be said for the old tried and true ways those who cannot change with the times will be trampled by it.” He almost said humorously as he came to the bed with her resting against her.  “How have you adapted to these modern nights?”

She held him tightly against her, kissing his forehead affectionately, “It’s quite commonplace in the Giovanni estate, and my lab has an awful lot of advanced equipment, so I suppose now, it might be difficult to revert backwards. But still it looks in place in the laboratory, whereas here it feels like I’m leaping back and forth in time.”

He let out a small laugh of amusement.

“Your Haven sounds like an intriguing place.” He was intrigued “I look forward to your thoughts on my own when such a time arises.” He seemed to have ideas in mind.

“I look forward to seeing it.” She smiled, “However we do not have time for that tonight and the week seems quite busy.”

“Thank goodness then that we have the breath of time on our side.” He said with some amusement “Tell me if I am being overly forthcoming but have you joined a Bloodline?”

She blinked, surprised by the question, “I um... No. I suppose I’ve just been so consumed with other tasks that I’ve never truly thought about it.” She peered curiously at him, “Why do you ask?”

“As you might imagine the activities of the Doge leave me with some rather significant periods of in activity as such I have taken to chronicling various Bloodlines and obscure clans. This city holds so much history that it lends itself to that much.” He explained “I had thought your close relationship with your sire that surly you may have joined whatever lineage he hails from.”

“Actually, it’s not something we’ve ever discussed, or he’s ever hinted at.” She spoke quietly with shocking realization, “Maybe that’s one of the oddities of my blood though. Perhaps we have not developed bloodlines or are unable to?”

She knew even as she said it that it was untrue. She knew Tiberius was part of a bloodline, although whatever it was she had no idea.

“Intriguing, I know your clan is a small one but I’m certain there are as yet uncovered adaptations to your blood.” He spoke academically but his attention seemed to be divided.

She ran a hand gently through his hair, trying to grasp his full attention with the sweet affection, “I imagine there should be... Is everything alright?”

“I sense something, a pressance among us” He scanned the room and his gaze was narrow “Worry not though, this place plays to quite a few of my advantages.” He spoke confidently but he momentarily locked his eyes on the shadow.

The color seemed to drain from her face, “Oh no...” her gaze darted about the room as she drew the covers around herself and thusly Aurelio to try and conceal whatever modesty she could, “Perhaps this was a bad idea...”

“Foolhardy.” The Doge held a clever grin and he raised his hand and for a few brief seconds bizarre runes seemed to float around him as his hand pointed at the advancing shade. In an instant a circle of white fire surrounded the shadow “I am afraid you will need a little more creativity then brute force.”

She gaped in horror at the shade of Xaver. She had no idea how she would handle him, nor how she would convince him to not speak a word to Haloise of what he was seeing now.

“Look, I know you must have quite the...” She eyes the white flames and runes, “Arcane arsenal? On your side, but Xaver is more than a physical force... Get behind me.”

Her mind was a hurricane of possibilities and questions and theories in this moment as she wondered what to do.

The shadow froze in it’s tracks. It set several threads of darkness through the floor and along the underside of the wooden boards hoping to spring up where the shadows could grab Selene.

Put her before me, swine. Xaver challenged through silent thought.

“I think you will see me able to hold my own Selene.” The Doge kept his gaze focused on his opponent “I am unsure who you are or what you want but that matters little, you violate the sanctity of my domain.” He wove his hands yet again and the physical perception of space bet around the Doge making inches seem like miles. “Now reveal yourself!” Aurelio commanded as he stepped forward.

In an instant, using the full breath of celerity, Xaver swapped places with his shadowy clone, leaving the clone to tend to Dante just to show Cesare that he was far from competing with the Khaibit. As he materialized through the fragmenting darkness, he did keep his lower half concealed.

“What sort of magic have you bewitched the Queen with?!” Xaver’s voice boomed, the tension in his muscles obvious as he glared at Aurelio.

“Who are you to demand an explanation from me last I saw you are intruding on me and using powers of your own.” The Doge did not seem intimidated, he would not bend to a bassic display of power or a projection of Xavers intensity. “Perhaps it is you that is the threat ?” He accused.

“You have obviously done something to her and that does make me a threat.” Xaver stated flatly, “We are here for diplomacy, not for you to take advantage of the Emperor’s Childe, particularly not in such a crude manner.” His voice grew steadily in anger, “How dare you defile her mind and body with with your lewd thoughts and actions!”

He didn’t take his enraged gaze off the Doge, but he held steadfast within the circle of white flame.

“Xaver stop it!” She commanded, “What is happening here is no concern of yours!”

“You are quick to judge but very short sighted, the only defiling here is you violating the sanctity of our moment. Now heed we’ll your queens warnings or I will add action to her words.” Aurelio was never the type to back down and he had confidence with Selene being at his side.

Xaver’s gaze darkened as he looked to Selene, “You know what comes next Selene.” His words carried a heavy threat, and he did not wait for any response, swapping places again with the clone before the shadowy twin dispersed from the sanctum.

“Oh God... Aurelio, I’ve ruined everything!” She sobbed bringing her hands to her face, “I’m so sorry!”

“I see nothing tarnished other then a man still looking for his place in the world, I do not know your connection to him but if you feel unsafe I can open every door in Venice to you.” He dismissed all the Spell work he had weaved and pulled Selene in to his embrace “you are safe and no harm will come to you I promise.”!

“That is my guardian that Haloise sent with me... He’s certain to report back about this and I fear for what wrath will follow.” She buried her cheek against his chest while she cried, “Never before has it happened with someone else who’s raptured my heart as you do. You two will clash, but he’s a pure force of death when he wants to be.”

“Selene I will not let injury befall you or your heart do not worry. Antonio he’s explained well the trouble facing your Sire and I think I can work with that and at another time before I have things come to the front I will talk to your protector, you need not worry.” He held her close and offered what encouragement he could.

“Oh Aurelio, how have I ever earned your sweet affection and promise of sanctuary?” She pulled her hands free and wrapped them around his torso, pressing herself completely against him, “I do not wish to paint my sire as a monster. He’s been remarkably good to me, but I’ve witnessed his ire firsthand.”

“You need not owe me anything, I need you only to accept what I give to you freely.” He spoke softly with her “I will not draw any judgments of your Sire until I meet him I promise, things will be made right and you need not worry.”

She turned her head slightly, planting a soft kiss at the center of his collar bone as she was at a loss for words other than a whispered, “Thank you.” Her arms held tightly around him, the palms of her hands feeling every bit of his skin in an innocent manner as two bare people could be.

Hekept her close there was a smile on his face he then turned her to face him “Thank you Selene.” His words rang warmly as he kissed her softly “when next we meet there are many things I wish to show you if you wish to see them.”

“There’s no reason to thank you, particularly for the issues my actions have set into motion.” Selene blushed, “But I would gladly witness whatever marvels you wish to share with me.”

“I would gladly take any challenge to shear your time.” He said with a smile bringing her again towards the bed.

Her blush deepened as she watched him, moving with him as though he was current and she was a leaf caught in the waters, “Will you hint st what it is you’re so keen to show me?”

“I wish to show you the deeper mysteries and see if I still hold your interest.” He said with a smile gestureing to the bed they sheared through the night.

She sat on the edge of the bed before swinging her long smooth legs onto the silken sheets, “There are so many intriguing things about that statement alone.” She offered a faint smile, “And with you, how could my interest wane?”

“Then the nights to come hold much promise for us, leave the musings of the inconvenience be addressed by me I wish for you to keep your mind focused on us and the promise of future nights to come.” He laid back against the bed seemingly content with a smile on his face.

She pulled herself against him and relaxed her head on one side of his chest, “When I wake tomorrow night, do you promise not to be a dream?”

“All that you have seen is real, all that you felt is true, come the evening I shall still be here and the love we sheared shall still be with us.” He nuzzled against her as he spoke.

She sighed happily, all her worries fading in the moment. She could feel the pull of the day sleep tugging at the edges of her mind. “I love you my Captain.”

“Sleep well my sea Lilly, my love.” His words came out softly “may our dreams find one another.”

The sun lulled the Dead to sleep yet Selene’s dreams were not normal ones twisted by the Hunger of the Beast but rather vast cosmic things she saw things come in to creation around her only to fade away with time, the scope of the universe around her was so utterly beyond anything she had previously experienced.

“Open your eyes Selene” the familiar voice of Aurelio echoed in her mind only for the snap of night to awaken her.

As struck by shock, she bolted upright, rested but full of wonder, “What’s happened?” She looked around until her gaze found Aurelio, “It’s night already..”

“Another day has passed and Night has blessed me with visions of you.” He said with a smile stretching as his strength came to him “How did you find your rest?”

“It was incredible! I’d never experienced dreams as I did this day, not even as the unruly child that I had been so long ago.” She remained sitting up, staring  into an unseen distance, “I mean, I have no idea where I would even begin to describe anything that had imagined through my mind.”

“You need not explain anything you were not alone in such present thoughts, I am surprised our reunion allowed us to have such pleasures.” He said as he looked around the room still thrown about from thei night before.

Selene pulled her gaze back into the moment, “Seems we’ve made quite a mess last night.” She blushed.

“Nothing I would change a second of if only to have more time with you.” He said with a smile, he held her close as the movement of the ship could now be felt. “It seems that the hourglass is against us this evening.”

She huddled against him, “The waters of Venice feel rough this evening, almost as though we’ve been carried to sea.” She commented nervously before kissing his chest.

His gaze peered out of the window before turning his attention to Selene “The tide is shifting and we move against the current yet we are not long from port.” He kissed her forehead “It is as if fate is trying to keep us adrift in our free dream.”

She shivered against him, recalling the chilling night of the storm from decades ago, “You don’t suppose the weather will turn do you?”

“I know these waters and winds like no other we are in the hands of safety and shelter the only wish I might have of the sea is that it might grant us more time with one another.” He said as he pulled her in to his embrace “will you be traveling with your acquaintances tonight or shall I find you an alternative arrangements?”

She nuzzled into his embrace, drawing her arms around him tightly, “I should travel with them. I will need to do some damage control with Xaver and the sooner, the better.”

“In the event you need me for anything I want you to break this.” He grabbed a small glass ball from the night stand with what seemed to be snow suspended with in it. “It will notify me of your location instantly.” He seemed to hold some concern possibly even distrust of Selene’s entourage as he presented the small item.

She took the orb carefully, holding her breath as she examined it.

“It’s beautiful... How could I possibly want to break something so marvelous, particularly when it’s from you...” her intense gaze flickered him with a blush tinting her cheeks, “Although if it does actually bring you to me...”

“Think of it as a gift whose function I hope goes unused.” He said with a smile “Will you be able to talk your brooding associate down or shall I keep my presence available to you later ?”

“He will not harm me, but I know he’s not thrilled about what he saw.” She lamented, entranced by the crystal as she turned it gently her grasp, “My apologies for his intrusion last night. It was probably my request that caused him to search.”

“If he needs anything explained I will happily do it should it be necessary but if he means no harm I am relived.” The Doge seemed to release bated breath.

“You’re so sweet to worry about me so.” She kissed his cheek, cradling the orb, “So Tell me what are you going to do tonight?”

“Well provided my services are not needed by the singular most beautiful thing for my eyes to observe I am to attend a meeting of sorts with a cabal of Mages.” He noted “Rather boring when I compare it to a second in your company.”

“They can be a particularly difficult lot to deal with.” She mused, blushing harder as his constant compliments, “I don’t wish to keep you from your tasks... You’re quite a popular and enigmatic man.”

“It is nothing of particular significance likely all it is is some attempt to garner my support for something and I must imagine you have plenty to do yourself after all.” He almost seemed to lament time passing by as it was.

She leaned carefully over to place the orb on the nearby nightstand so she could bring her arms around his neck and kiss him sweetly, yet deeply.

He had no qualms in returning the affection kissing her deeply as well his hands caressed along her body. “It will feel like an eternity waiting to see you again.” He said between affections.

“Mm, if you’re not careful with your touch, you just may net me again tonight.” She purred, her body leaning to his caress, “The thought of parting from your company makes me long for you all the more.”

“Speaking to me in such a way may only invite desire one last time after all there is still much in the way of desire still to explore.” He said with adventurous hands.

She squirmed in his hands, biting her lip to poorly suppress the cacophony of delight he caused, “Mm, but your meeting?”

“What harm could be done with a few minutes tardiness.” He replied playfully offering her a kiss between words.

She returned every kiss, her own touch growing slightly adventurous, “If only we had more than minutes. Are you sure that I’m not causing problems for you?”

“Beyond certain.” He rolled over so that he was above her “not that I would shy from any challenge knowing you were the prize, in two nights time I will make it my goal to show you something the likes of which you have never seen.”

“I’m sure many would argue I’m more trouble than prize.” She blushed deeply, her eyes taking in his toned body, “What are you so keen on showing me? You must harbor so many secrets.”

“Let those secrets lay in the back of your mind I am far more interested in my prize.” He said before kissing her deeply and with a fire like passion to him, one hand was at her hip while he used the other to support himself “There are so many secrets to your body that still call for exploring.” He said continuing to offer her a string of affections from her lips down her neck.

“Mmm, Aurelio..!” She murmured softly, “I have no secrets of my flesh.” She moaned at every touch her offered upon her, squirming faintly as her excitement grew.

“Oh ? Is that true?” He said as he continued his trail of affections which now brought him to the center of her chest his hand still at her hip the other one now caressing against her form.

He smiled again climbing her body brushing her hands away from her face “Now I insist that you do not hide from me.” He said before bringing his lips to hers kissing her in a verity of sensual ways while his hands continued their tender exploration of her body.

She kissed him back, matching every affection. Her arms slipped around his neck, loosely holding him in place. She drew her knees up slightly, cradling the rest of his body between her legs.

As they continued their affections for one another she could feel his body pressing against her in its wantoness there was a hunger now in the way his hands caressed her fuled by the mounting desire of the moment.

He picked up the pager “Dante collect the Queens associates we will soon be in port.”

She took a few moments as he held her close, her head leaning against him, her hands delicately feeling his torso. After he had called his directives to his Blood, she looked at their clothes strewn about the floor, “I suppose the time has come then for us to conceal ourselves.”

“While I would not mind to strut so free and exposed with you it might strike the others as some what questionable.” He tried to interject some humor innto the situation.

A shy giggle escaped her lips as she stood, “Could you imagine? People would be shocked.” She moved bending over to pick both of their garments from the floor, “I know I shouldn’t be sad that our time is at end, but rather happy it happened... It’s just so amazing that we’re even together at all.”

“Distance does not separate our souls are intermingled bound by an unbreakable bond of affection.” He said as he cane to the edge of the bed a smile on his face.

She plucked the last article of clothing up and carried everything to the bed, placing it beside him. She moved to stand immediately in front of him, pulling him to her chest in a soft embrace, “Always so beautiful and optimistic.”

“If beauty were given a name it would be Selene.” He said nuzzling against her taking every momenthe could to feel his skin against hers. “This feeling will not be forgotten until we are again in one another’s company.”

She blushed deeply, the heat flush throughout her entire body, “Oh my sweet Aurelio... Our company will be shared with each other again soon. Until then these moments will echo with me.”

He smiled as he began to dress himself “Until then my thoughts will be of you alone should I help you with anything ?”

She too began to dress, slipping the tight skirt over her hips and tucking her buttoned down shirt in. “I don’t suppose you have a hair brush?” She laughed.

“It might surprise you that I do.” He said with a slight chuckle producing the item quickly “your not the only one who needs it I suspect.” He saidwulith some humor as he handed the brush over.

She laughed, taking the brush to preen herself, “You always had the most gorgeous hair... After we meet that first day, I started paying attention to how I looked and what dresses I wore, and the makeup and ornaments. Just in case we happened to cross paths again.. and What happens? I woke up late the day we started voyage to France.”

“You never needed any of those things to be beautiful you simply are.” He saint before dawning the last of his clothing “we simply fell in you  deep sleep one from which we have only just now awoken.” He said with a smile outing an arm around her.

She blushed with a smile as he pulled her close with one arm. She tilted her head upward, stealing an innocent kiss and offering his brush back, “I believe that I should need to borrow this in the soon future again.”

“Oh I gladly offer it to you as well as everything that I have it would only seem fair but I do not know how much longer I can delay I can Sense our compatriots growing anxious.” He concludes with a kiss

She returned the affection before leading the way from his room through the same hall she’d traversed the evening previous.

Despite parting company the Doge was in Selene’s dreams each night, the two of them were together floating above calm waters and an illuminated night sky. It was impossible to understand the words either was saying yet they communicated through other means able to float through the space effortlessly.

Since coming to Venice Selene has been free of the blood stained dreams Vampires are so prone to being a victim of.
