1401 - Combat System Discussion Guidelines
Okay, folks, this is the place to hold forth on any of the various combat systems created for use with
Traveller, or to compare and contrast them.
There are some basic guidelines I'd like to set down here before we get started:

1.) Forum Rules Still Apply: We are all here for rational discourse and discussion. Uncivil, rancorous, or otherwise inappropriate posts will be moderated, up to and including their removal.
2.) Title Your Posts Appropriately: Titles (Subject Lines) for your posts should include: which version(s) of
Traveller your post is in reference to and what combat mechanics or rules you are discussing.
Examples of appropriate subject lines might include:
- CT: Range Bands
- T+: Caliber Movement Rules
- MT: Combat Tasks
- Comparison: MT vs MgT2
- THB: Sequential Combat for CT or T+
See (2.1), below, for suggested abbreviations.
2.1) Abbreviations: To keep subject lines concise, the following abbreviations are suggested for (optional) use:
CT = Classic Traveller
MT = MegaTraveller
TNE = Traveller: The New Era
T4 = Traveller 4 (Marc Miller's Traveller)
GT = GURPS Traveller
T20 = Traveller20 (d20 Traveller)
IW = GURPS Traveller: Interstellar Wars
MgT = Mongoose Traveller
T5 = Traveller 5
MgT2 = Mongoose Traveller, Second Edition
T+ = Traveller Plus
THB = any Home-Brewed rules for one or more versions of Traveller
(NOTE: These abbreviations are not all-inclusive. Anyone wanting another system listed here, please give a unique abbreviation of no more than four symbols length and it will be added to the list.)

Thanks for wading through all that red text. When I get time, I intend to post the home-brewed rule set I use for combat in my
Traveller Plus-based game. I hope all of you will have something to contribute as well.
